Hah I was pleasantly surprised at around 3:18 he "accidentally" does that perfect country singer voice for a second! I've never heard devy do that vocal anywhere else :D

For anyone interested in the original, Devy has done an amazing job of reimagining Eddie Rabbit's song, Driving my life away. Definitely give it a quick listen if you're in any way inclined towards country.

There are not too many Prog related musicians that have such an impact on their audience - Big smiling faces, arm waving, dancing, mindblown. The only other band in this genre that has this effect is Umphreys McGee

It's weird, because Devin is so musically gifted with different genres...that I wouldn't even really label him as a "metal head". From doing metal, country, ambient, pop metal, pop rock.......He just kinda does what he is feeling at that particular moment in time. He writes his music to the emotions that he is feeling, and that is a huge reason (IMO) why his music is so powerful.

Country musicians tend to be incredibly good musicians, they could easily accomplish metal. Unfortunately they generally prefer not to.

AnonInTheMatrix Lucky Animals is a moronic children's song. But if your idea of sonic glory is Jingle Bells, you should definitely love it, as I see you do. And no need to excuse yourself. Tone-deafness is genetic, no need to apologize.

AnonInTheMatrix It's not meant to be good either. The "fun" is in the lyrics. He's written plenty of simple, great tunes. That one just ain't it.

I don't understand why Devin's fans would vote for this lame pop song to be played - when there are DOZENS of great Devy songs that have rarely been played live. These must be the women voting, just as with Lucky Animals which is a horrible kiddie song. Women just can't handle heavy and proggy stuff. With notable exceptions, of course. Well done to the gals who don't just listen to Ki, Ghost and COC.

+Benfo G Well, maybe because true Devy fans love him for his diversity, and this song is just another great example that this genius can do whatever he wants, and it still sounds good.

Ole Morten Persen It's that word again - diversity. Politically correct monkeys have been well-trained to use it at any and every opportunity, especially in colleges when praising liberal politics. Makes me snicker every time I hear a young person go on about "diversity!!!" without even having the most basic knowledge about either history, politics, society or economy. But going back to what that word means in music, shouting out "diversity!" is like saying that quantity is more important than quality. It's very hipster to seek out "diversity" because that feeds the music fan's ego. "Hey, I listen to all sorts of stuff, so I must be a talented listener!" Just because a musician expands his music, does NOT necessarily means something good will come out of it. Besides, the VAST majority of composers are good at a narrow range of music. Nobody can be great at everything. And what's this about "true Devy fans"? I didn't realize there was an EXAM you had to take to become one.

+Benfo G Yes, it was all of those darn women who voted these songs get played. I'm pretty sure the band had absolutely no say in playing these songs, because they would be fun. I'm sure no one else voted for them to be played either. I don't know where you get this idea that women can't handle heavy and proggy music, most women I know who are into heavy metal and rock have no problem with prog. In fact most of Devin fans seem to like almost all of his work regardless of gender. So I don't see how women are to be blamed for these songs being played...

believenothing As your name implies, you believe in nothing, which judging from your comment includes logic, facts and common sense. Besides, the set-list was chosen by FANS on Twitter and Facebook, the band didn't make the choices, that was the whole point, nothing-believer. As for your self-righteous politically correct let-me-protect-women-from-evil-YT-posters comment, you must be one of those dumb leftists who don't think there are ANY difference between the genders, right? We are EXACTLY the same, except for the penis and vagina. Go read some studies. Even a nothing-believer like you should have been able to figure out without the aid of studies - even during your short 16-year stay on this goofy planet - that women do in fact listen to different music than men - generally speaking. After all, how many women are among Slayer fans and how many women among Evanescence fans? Case closed, you're a brainwashed zombie, but feel free to reply idiotically. I shall enjoy trashing you again.
