Devin Townsend just released his new solo album so it was a great time to introduce his music to my channel. The song "Genesis" is the opener on "Empath". Townsend is a Canadian musical genius who has worked in numerous projects.
I can tell you guys that he hits a homerun with this song. This is pure creativity at his best. The production here is almost perfect, a lot of shades, great mixing too. The first thing you'll notice is the fact the song goes from a genre to another like 10 times. A lot of beautiful surprises, a real progressive achievement. Nevertheless, everything still fits perfectly together and that's the real tour de force.
This song is a journey through lots of dynamics, incredible vocals, intense drumming, very original and its difficult these days to achieve that. There's a little something for everyone in this song and if you're eclectic, you'll dig this without a doubt, M. Townsend delivers again.
