It's not often one can say that over a decade later, this artist not only looks way younger, healthier, happier and has far surpassed his own vocal talent, technical guitar playing , live performances & composition/song writing in general. I will never not love this man's talent and personality.

I really miss his old vocal style, i love that compression and grit that he used in some parts ... like the “ you are” one, it adds some much more emotion to the performance .

@@xobrasxx I do to in a way. I love the raw emotion of his earlier stuff. He's way more controlled now. You can see in this his face is turning red because he's really pushing a scream instead of letting the vocal distortion do all the work. But he just looks so miserable lol.

He sings with his pure clean voice. He sings everywheree in between. He's got the skullet. It's got a bit of the 70's heavy feel to it. It's good. That's all I can say about this song.

Dear Devin, I've been listening since I was 16 years old and coincidentally, your CITY album struck with me very well at that time hahaha... and at this time I really have to say that this song, Deadhead, is one of my favourite songs in existence. Moves me every time in different ways. You really have figured out how to resonate on people's emotion strings ;) With Love, F.

Gotta love how Devin unloads those screams with emotion. I think that because of his bipolar disorder he's able to convey more feeling to his singing. It also explains why his albums are different themed each time.

This is amazing.... I love Devin. Ugh, and I had some asshole tell me, "Oh yeah, my girlfriend listens to SYL. They're gay screamo music..." Pshh... Fuck that... Devin Townsend can somehow combine so many things into one. With his solo stuff and SYL aswell. His music is just unclassifiable really.. In some ways just as unclassifiable as Opeth. He's just a crazily calm, weird genius!
