I literally teared up when the super bowl highlight came up. Those years were so special as a bears fan with Devin Hester and that nasty defense with Urlacher.

I remember watching him when I was a kid. I'd call everyone to our livingroom to watch Devin Hester return a kick. Good memories.

If the patriots pick him up he'll feel comfortable playing. If he goes to the bears he'll be proud to be home and that would boost him

Greatest returner ever. If a special teams player ever deserved hof honors it'd be him. He won a few low scoring games for Chicago 💯

To this day my favorite play in Superbowl history is Hester's return to kick off SB41. Also was my fav player in College ever.

Being a return specialist is like being a kicker or a punter. Everybody expects perfection out of you and criticizes you like crazy when you're not perfect. He has been fun to watch.

Hester is just one of those players who don't make any sense but they make their madness into the most exciting football you've ever seen

There's no other man as scary in the open field, the cuts, the elusiveness, the burst, pure speed, he had it all. The only other return guy I found as exciting was Primetime.

Packers fan here. Devin Hester might be the only guy that "scared" me in the NFL North. There were all-time greats like Sanders and Moss and Megatron of course, but with guys like that you're just sort of resigned to them getting theirs. With Hester you just never knew what was going to happen. One coverage guy is out of his lane and the game is turned around. He required huge shifts in game planning and if you made even one mistake, he was gone. What a great player. I hope he makes the HoF.

With a player as special, dynamic, and game changing (in the rules instituted in great part because of him, allowing his team to control field position, and having the potential to score every time he touched the ball) it would be hard to make a bad one.

This man would single handedly strike the fear of god into kickoff and special teams units. Returning a kickoff is just basically a scramble. Yea there is formations but most of those breakdown within seconds and holes close and open in the blink of an eye. The Human Joystick congrats on that bust u very well deserved in Canton!

The amount of times he went untouched for TDs is crazy congrats on the HOF legend

He was the greatest Kick Returner of All Time He was the greatest punt returner of all time He was a franchise player just as a returner for da bears. So many Devin Hester jerseys were sold. A lot of kids these days say Devin Hester won't go into the hall of fame, but they don't know just how special he really was. Each time a team kicked to him it was a chance he could take it all the way. In his rookie season including the playoffs and SB he had 7 combined return Tds!!!!!! That's a record that will never be broken. The most any other player has ever gotten was 3 or 4

I’m so glad the NFL changed kickoff rules. The head injuries that came from these plays are unforgivable. But my god do I miss Devin Hester. What a legend. The only player to ever return an opening Super Bowl kickoff for a touchdown. And likely the last one to ever do so. What a beast.

5 players I just repeatedly watch highlights over and over; Devin Hester, Deion Sanders, Barry Sanders, Calvin Johnson, Randy Moss. The idea that hester might not join the other 4 as a HoFer is nothing short of criminal. He was the best to ever return.

I was rooting for him when he went to Super Bowl back then to. Exciting player to watch back then man.

Hester was one of my favorite players from the Bears to cheer for! Because of him, Bears had a chance in winning games if the defense and offense couldn't get it done. So glad I have a Bears jersey of his. Future HOF!
