From my reading, I am convinced that the portrait of Henry and Eleanor in "The Lion in Winter" is essentially accurate. They fought (on and off the battlefield), made love, had eight children, and remade the culture of western Europe, all the while knowing that they were irrevocably tied together by the simple fact that there was no other woman in Europe large-spirited enough to be Henry's consort, and no other man large-spirited enough to be Eleanor's. I love Eleanor's description to her son Richard the Lionheart of her first infatuation for Henry: "He came down from the north with a mind like Aristotle and a form like mortal sin. We shattered the commandments on the spot. And then, in the spring, at a spot not far from here -- we married. And in two years I was his Queen, and he was King of England. Done at twenty-one. Five years your junior, General."

i am absolutely blown away. it's known you create incredible original stories, but to take a part of history and recreate it so flawlessly, so beautifully - in some ways that's even more complicated, and whoa, was the result of your work stunning. i can't even begin to describe how much i am into this. WOW.

This is astonishing!!!! I read a bit about them before watching the video in order to understand it better, but it definitely wasn't necessary because you have portrayed their story in the most accurate way possible. The manips are stunning and the music makes the video even more epic. Besides, I'm in love with your cast choices. AMAZING!!!!!!!!

This is amazing! You've told their story in such an interesting genuine way which is also quite heartbreaking. You've worked magic with this video! I've already watched it at least a dozen times! This is such a great vid, you have such great talent. Great cast, by the way. I felt really bad for Eleanor.

Loved how this turned out! The passion in the early years of their relationship, Eleanor raising her sons to rebel (though she did warn Henry the II against giving their son Henry the crown while the father Henry was still king, Eleanor told him that giving him the crown but no actual power would push him to revolt) and young Henry's death. I'm going to assume the woman in the beginning, Guinevere from the show Camelot I believe, is Rosamund? Gorgeous job!

Katie would make an absolutely *amazing* younger Eleanor! And the guy ‘playing’ Henry looks pretty good, too. I like Toby for Henry, the Young King, as well. Eleanor’s mid & later life are pretty well known- mostly in relation to her second husband & sons, but her earlier life & last decade or so, makes for *fascinating* reading, too; she was one of the wealthiest, if not *the* wealthiest heiresses in the world at the time, & was definitely the richest in France- thus was considered the most eligible woman in Europe - she was briefly abducted, or there was a plot to abduct her, so her father & the King of France arranged her marriage to his heir- partly to shore up the questionable power of the French throne at the time. She went on Crusade, called her ladies ‘Amazons’, & was rumoured to have had an affair with her estranged half-uncle, while in the Holy Land. She may have also had a brief affair with her second father-in-law. As well as getting her own marriage annulled, she helped her sister out with a romantic entanglement. In two marriages, she bore 10 children (1 died in infancy, & 2 had no surviving issue; those who did, produced among others: 2 empresses, an emperor, 3 kings & 5 queens)- 2 of whom would also marry twice, & 1 of her daughters would also have 10 children - she would go on to outlive all bar two of her kids, dying at like 80-something... a fantastic innings in the Middle Ages. She was a patron of the arts, served as regent, & in her late 70’s, set out to select & accompany one of her granddaughters to her wedding- in France, & made the journey to Castile- crossing the Pyrenees twice, as part of the trip - unfortunately, the death of one of her men was too much for the elderly lady, & her journey ended at Bordeaux- she recovered enough to go on to Fontevraud, to effectively ‘retire’. But she was well enough to attempt to intervene in the war between her son, John & grandson Arthur, Duke of Brittany- after this, she returned to Fontevraud, where she died 3 years later. And that doesn’t even cover her baller grandmother, whose name was- I kid you not, Dangerouse!

there is a novel called penmarric which takes Henry the 2 and Eleanor as the characters but with other names, you should check it out

Amazing editing, I wonder if anybody has made a show about this, because if haven't then they're missing a perfect story to do so.

No it's edited together from a bunch of movies. The guy 'playing' King Henry is taken from scenes from The White Princess which you can find on demand on Starz, and Douglas Booth The one edited to be Richard the Lionheaet is from.2013's Romeo and Juliet which you can find on Demand on Starz, HBO, Showtime. Any of the movie channels I'm sure

Then why does it say Eleanor of Aquitaine and she's not in any of those ? It's a combination of three different television shows I have seen the white princess and reign.
