Don't want to pick up any bad habits because of this game. Reckless driving, giving weapons to a handicap without a permit (ex-handicap), stabbing yourself, jumping out of a moving vehicle on multiple occasions, kidnapping two ladies, not going to a girl's 18th birthday party, not paying your bills or child support, public indecency (not their faults), getting into a fight with a horse, a chicken, a oversized cat, and a literal nightmare, getting bitch slapped, flipping your father off while saying 'fu** you', reading poetry during a fight, throwing insults..... constantly, destroying your friend's works of art, and last and probably not the last thing on this list is smoking. Did I also mention cutting down a tree?

I love the fact that he doesn’t know that it’s his dad approaching him and just assumes it’s some random vagrant and offers him food. We need more moments like this from Nero, make him a gentler and sweeter character than Dante and Virgil, lean more towards a Spider-Man esque sense of humor. Now that I think about it, that’s probably why he says sorry to that one guy after dissing him because he’s not actually as mean spirited as his father and uncle. I’ll say it again: *we need more of this* . I’ll take wholesome but sassy over anxty jerk any day.

Nero is a nice boy, just like Dante and Vergil would have been without their circumstances. I hated him in 4 way back when, I thought they were pulling a MGS 2 or Halo 2 and replacing a beloved main character randomly. But he "grew up", something Dante and Vergil never did, and was the "adult in the room" to end their blood feud. Basically the best ending you could hope for.

The "thats right" from Vergil at 2:09:58 ending scene sounds like he is happy again to be reunited with his brother and fight alongside him

To be fair there not killing each other, there fighting as a brotherly thing. they both seem oddly happy about it and do act like kids when one wins or loses. they butt heads and know it takes a lot for one to break xD but vergil went from just pure power to being reasonable enough to undo what he caused with dante by his side. both have a unique mindset that demon's will understand.

The issue was not their fighting but them killing each other. Vergil's ambition to defeat Dante became so nutorious that he became fine with destroying everything for that goal, forcing Dante to kill Vergil to put a stop to it. But after Vergil had his little identity crisis during the time he was separated and then getting beaten up by Nero, what proved that true strenth cannot be aquired by just sucking on bloog and swords, he became much more timid, to a point where there death was not a necassity anymore.

I love how bitter he gets at the comment despite him probably being the strongest out of the three. Even with no devil bringer or DT and with only the breakers he gets further in the fight with urizen than Dante did before getting his sin DT. Also i think trish explains that demon power is fueled by human blood hence the big old blood harvesting trees throughout the game so Nero's 75% human blood might actually power up his demon abilities more than Dante or Vergil's 50%. I see it like Dante and Vergil have more abilities because they are more demon than Nero but with Nero being more human and with proper MOTIVATION I think Nero has the most power in terms of raw strength where Vergil and Dante are more versatile. Also he's like the only sane sparda kid given he has to be his uncle and father's own damn parental figure by the end of this game literally pulling them away from one another and scolding them when they bicker.

@@xacmashe3852 Hi! Vergil is officially the elder of the two. Since they are twins, I doubt those extra minutes meant much, but it is something they definitely act upon in their relationship dynamic. But to go into greater detail: There's a specific word for "older brother" in Japanese that Dante has been using for Vergil, and in game booklets and such, it has been revealed that Vergil is older than Dante. Plus, in DMC3 Dante tells Vergil: "How about a kiss from your little brother? Or better yet, how about a kiss from this?" when pointing his weapon at Vergil. V also refers to Vergil as the older brother in this game, though it is brief.

Xac Mashe No, Vergil is the older twin. But that doesn’t mean anything because they’re both basically the same age. But if you want to get specific then Vergil’s older, but only by some minutes.

The "Don't you dare say it"-line" becomes even funnier when you imagine that they get interrupted in their fights frequently and Dante ALWAYS says it then.

Rewatching this, I love the little detail near the beginning- look at V at 4:58, look at that face he makes at the sinking realization of "Oh fck, Dante lost" and being utterly confused and lost as to what to do now, just standing there for a moment, before Dante's words sink in and he remembers Nero was there as well, his focus instantly switching to worry about Nero because now he only has him to relay on beating Urizen, he's the only one he can count in.

Lmao Nero truly was bitter throughout the entire game because of that dead weight comment.

Despite being the grandson of Sparda, Nero is still mostly human. He could only access significant power through external means such as the Devil buster and Yamato. His entire story in DMC5 is about pushing himself beyond his human limits, resulting in him getting his own Devil Trigger that can overcome both his father and uncle ( despite the fact that both Vergil and Dante are both powered up over the course of the story)

Thank you for the montage, watched it like a real movie. For those who are even more interested in DMC5 events - there is also a manga called Visions of V that is deeply connected with the game events. It is mainly focused on story of V and answers many questions in DMC5 like: - How V got his familiars and equipment - Why exactly is Vergil so obsessed with power and what exactly happened during THAT day in their childhood - Why Vergil had a personality change closer to the end of game and became more a sibling rival of Dante than an actual enemy that wants him dead no matter what etc.

Ok but especially with the graphics in this one I'm just absolutely shocked how well Johnny Yong Bosch's voice fits Nero's face. Like the graphics mixed with his acting just makes it so convincing.

I think RE Engine shines best through DMC5 so far. CAPCOM did say they pushed to the limits for DMC5. I am happy this game plays and looks amazing.

That "Don't you dare say it!" in the end is the greatest part of this whole game

I always thought Trish saying "I'm not your mommy, V", was meant to be degrading. But now I realise she probably meant she's not Eva, that Vergil shouldn't look to her for justification between the brothers constant fighting. Or him going to Dante for help through causing so much destruction.

Was Vergil aware of Trish and what she is prior to DMC5? I'm thinking about how sad it must have been for V to suddenly see what looks like his mother for the first time after ~30 years.

@@holly9096 there is also the point that Trish knows exactly who and what she is to Dante and Vergil back in DMC1. She knew the role she was given to by Mundus, which was to lure Dante to Mallet Island and to gain his trust just by physically resembling his mother. V also seems to be completely aware of Vergil's time as Nelo Angelo as well given the fact his familiars are spawns of Vergil's time as Nelo Angelo and carries those memories.

Trish and V's confession scene is probably the biggest character development Vergil has had. V confiding to Trish about the horrific actions his true self has committed to only get a response from Trish that is a HUGE nod back to DMC1 and who Trish herself is. Basically telling Vergil's human half to think for himself as she is in no way of giving him advice nor will she tell him what he wants to hear for the sake of consoling him just because. A very strong scene.

Dante/Vergil: Settling their family business (again) and killing off half a city in the process (also again) Nero: Dad, Uncle - thanks for coming. This is an intervention.

It's officially confirmed that the main theme of this game's story is "setback and awakening" . They did a damn good job telling the story indeed. ❤️

I come back and watch this all the time and I always end smiling. excited to see where they go if a 6th game comes out.

The love and effort put into this game is astounding. This is the pinnacle of passion in a franchise. Still holds up to some of the best games today. Strongly

Just finished playing this game and it was honestly long overdue since it's such a masterpiece, but I instantly realized at 2:00:01, Nero's scream of "I'm not letting you die" wasn't directed at either Dante or Vergil, but both of them - his family.

Dante: oh brother. You cut off your sons arm for more power, and you still lost. To top it off he’s only quarter demon.

One little detail still impress me: throughout the dmc 3,4,5 Vergil has very few screen time (in 4th part he is only playable character) but he is spelled out the best at the same time. I was carrying about him more while was playing every game of the series because his inner conflict is one of the deepest thing I've seen in my life

So this is what they call a heartwarming family reunion.

This game is an art piece, beautiful. Incredible how the story connects together like a jigsaw puzzle

Oh my god man, i cant wait to see the next DMC just to know how this is gonna work out between the brothers. The fighting between them is never gonna end, its al we've seen between them (exept for a few occasions that they work toghether) I personally hope that one day , they will be brothers like it supposed to be

I suspect that Virgil and Dante will have to fight their way through the demon world to the next threat while Nero fights his way to the threat from the human world, and they all team up to take down the latest threat at the end of the game, and the final fight is you playing as Virgil to beat Nero. After that, Virgil asks if they want to go out for pizza and Dante says that he doesn't want to eat pizza because he only eats pizza when he's sad. That prompts a sideways look from Nero as Nero has heard that Dante is constantly eating pizza, and then Nero asks what Dante actually likes.

I like how Nero's the only one of his family with any sense. /d

@@anima94 Being told dead weight meant a lot for him. Nero got his demon arm chop off. His demon arm was basically define him since it gave him the power to protect the one he loves. Now that his arm is lost, he felt powerless. Being told dead weight is a HUGE stab in his heart. Especially when it was a fight against the person who chop of his arm. It make him feel worthless and powerless to even fight against the person that basically destroyed him.
