Wenn die nach der Marsch hätten laufen müssen wären sie arm dran . Die hätten schon fast laufen müssen . Dieser Marsch so wie gespielt im Takt ist nicht zum Maschieren geeignet sondern zum anhören , aber gut gespielt .

As much as I don't want the Austrian empire to return and swarm us with German language. I gotta agree, that they have one of the most iconic culture. Beatiful marches and had good fashion back in the day. This is my most favorite march out of all of those. I love how slowly it starts and then it goes quick as hell. It sometimes really makes me hurt, that people want this nation to come back. They did not even truly present us with our language, and would continue promoting the German one. On the other hand, if they did NOT force us to speak German, and atleast recognize us as a state. Allow us to freely travel ( I know they did, but just in case ) . And did not just help Hungary and themselves have stability. If it works out well, like that. Then trust me, I would gladly unite. But mark my words, I am still an Anti - Germanic citizen of Bohemia. And if they just go out here, and annex us without even asking us if we want to UNITE. I will gladly become an immigrant and escape to Germany to get a good job. Or somewhere else.

Every Volk deserves a fatherland and of course the Czechs should have been treated with respect for their language and culture. Up until the times of nationalism, the spread of German however was not meant nationalistic, but often for practical or natural reasons. But even then the Habsburger in the 19th century who tried to keep the empire together, didn't really try to erase any of the ethnicities in their empire, as they didn't want any trouble.

I'm austrian - and i don't want to annex the czech republic. But i feel we are brothers in mind. And to be correct in the old austrian monarchy, bohemia was a self governing province and the czech language was in use in every office of the province as well as in Vienna. Cracow for example was the only part oft the divided poland where polish was the official language, in warsaw they had to speak russian. The old empire was multilingual and was destroyed by nationlism. And finally some germans also dream to annex austria - but they will not succeed ;-)

@@penicek there is no need of annexation, just a few plebiscits. Politics need someone to oversee them, someone, who is not enslaved within 4 year political cycle. Someone within vision for his country. Habsburgs, however sometimes weak and making bad decisions (Serbian ultimatum the worst of them) were tolerant monarchs. And this region especially needs to be reunited, there are footprints of common culture everywhere, we are all Carpathians :) I felt this when I was in Tirol.

Your comment is intereting but also sadens me. My grandmother was born in Czechoslovakia in Feldsberg-Valtice, a town that always was part of Austria and not Moravia. One of her great-grandfathers was born in Northern Bohemia and moved all over what is today Czechia. In the family there are more germanic/Austrian surnames just as Czech/Bohemian ones. Your comment made me feel like german people invaded or want to invade these lands. I think German villages and towns have a long history there... they may have come someday in the past. But also Slavic tribes settled these lands following the Germanic tribes in the early middle ages. I mean how far do we want to go back in time playing this stupid our land/your land game. When the Habsburg monarchy evolved there was not such concept as "nation" and you were not asked to identify as one or another in documents to cross a border. People were just living their lives without this hassle and I guess for the major part they got along and it worked just fine. These struggles errupted in the 19th century but even then from my understanding only for a minority this was topic #1. Habsburg monarchy is to play politics on God difficulty mode. It must have been nearly impossible to please everybody and not everything was perfect from today's perspective. But the history is now and you have to decide in the moment. For us living in 21st century it can be hard to grasp the whole picture as we will always lack context. Josef II. was interested in making all people literate and also in Czech language. People of German language where settled in regions like the Banat as the land lay vast and had very few taxpayers. I don't think this was to germanize and from Czechia I have never heard of similar settlement movements. I saw a video of a historian who said that german language in places like Slovenia or Czechia was rather a question of social standing than an ethnical question. German was the language of the craftsmen... so if a czech son of a farmer decided to become a carpenter he would move to the town and the language of these crafts was German so he adapted and learned German and his Grandchildren would not even know that their grandfather was a czech farmer's son... I don't know for which timeperiod this applied and it surely is debateable... maybe can be compared to if you decide to be part of the scientific community you would move to a big university town and have international friends, talk mostly in English...this is not forced, it was then your decision. Well you did not decide that English was the international language you had to learn. But also English people cannot be blamed for that either to impose their language. It happends due to practical reasons and something similar may have happened with German. Imho biggest mistake was the special treatment of Hungary. I can see why many Czechs felt annoyed because of that and felt like hun got own parliament and why not us. Today as Cze and Aut have so much in common, are comparable in size, populations etc. only way it would happen would be some equal marriage or cooperation in the fields to be discussed, but I doubt this will happen in our lifetimes. My little sister got a boyfriend from Hradec Kralove. May it be fruitful and bring together what belongs together. :)

the noob gameplays i think germany was cut into 4 big peaces (+some little peaces like südtirol) but the BRD and DDR are both BRD today so the "BRD with DDR" and austria are only two peaces of germany. Yes i want that austria and eastern germany and südtirol and elsass- lothringen come all together with the BRD to the one and only germany or german reich. I have to say that i was born in northern germany but due to the fact that i have spent many summers and some winters of my childhood in bavaria/austria i feel a lot more "heimisch" in the south of our beautiful country i love the austrian landscape and the people and the dialect there.
