Fun fact: Maus was not brought to the Kubinka Museum. The Kubinka Museum was built around Maus. Because it was brought to the test site for testing, and it was impossible to take it away from there... Very difficult.

Sadly how many delusional/miss-informed comments! The Maus was never finished to start with! Soviets found only two chassis with mock-up wooden turrets! Mause never got real turret and drive-train! It was early in prototyping stage when war was over. What is on display at Kubinka is soviet reconstruction of the found.

The strange looking tank at the end with the 2 large wheels is an Alkett VsKfz 617 Minenräumer mine clearing tank. Only one prototype was ever built, it was tested in 1942. It was found to be too difficult to manoeuvre and became easily bogged down due to its weight (55 tons) and the project was canceled. Captured by the Soviets in April 1945.

Not a railway gun, it was a self propelled mortor, but did need 2 railway cars for most of its movement, also had its own crane and several modified tanks as ammo carriers

I was in there with my friend couple times. Still want to visit this museum. The MAUS tank is huge and powerful. You cannot see anywhere , Russia is great and mighty country

@Security Consul , я выше все написал - нормальная система ПВО собьёт ЛЮБОЙ БПЛА. Вы просто не понимаете, насколько сейчас сильны системы РЭБ и системы ПВО. Вы поверили в турецкую сказочку, хотя по факту они били по армянам, у которых ПВО как таковой не было. Попробуйте например при помощи БПЛА напасть на США/Китай/РФ - вы потеряете все аппараты за день

Weedus the tiger was designed in the 30's before sloped armour was popular. Same with the armoured cars. Soviet vehicles designed in the 30's looked the same if not worse. Regardless the tiger had plenty of armour to stand up to the majority of what ever cheap metal coffins the soviets threw at them for majority of the war anyway. The later German tanks and armoured vehicles all had sloped armour.

Esteban Aguilar it was meant to be put to use as a mine clearer but it was never mass produced due to some issues with design and weight

In 1943 starts the project Pzkw. VIII or Mause, there only built 2 prototypes, and only one was armed with a turret. The Mause of this museum is the only that exist now

I think the music was put in by the creator of this video and didnt actually play there

The Maus in Kubinka was made from two samples, which were both found by Russian troops on the German, factory testground and before that used for armament tests by the Germans. But it is a "hollow shell" with mostly nothing inside, - I have seen in a film made by "The Chieftain"! And the added "Hammer and sickle" on the side was painted by the Germans, to make it look like a captured Russian tank, being used for tests, if someone from the outside ever saw it!

+Leo LP Finde ich ja auch aber wie gesagt ist das leider Kriegsbeute und da kann man nichts gegen tun.Ist Eigentum von Russland und die werden das sicher nicht vergeben.Wenigstens werden die dort gepflegt und nicht so verschandelt wie in Amerika.Also werden die noch ne Weile der Nachwelt erhalten bleiben.

I was inside Мouse ) Я внутрь Мауса залезал, там снизу люк открытый есть. А вот внутри там ничего нет, все демонтировано, зато просторно )

Его слепили из двух взорванных прототипов. Поэтому он пустой. Но вот я не знал, что Маус подвергался обстрелу на полигоне с целью оценки его бронирования.

@@Andy_Andrei, я знаю, что из двух слепили. Я про то, что там вообще одни оболочки от него остались. Что в принципе не мешает оценить снаружи масштаб идиотизма. В играх Маус интересен, сфоткаться прикольно, но вот в реальности на нем только "бронебойность" снарядов и тестировать )

What is that weird tank at the end at 4:23?

Bit ironic that the best collection of German WW2 tanks, armored cars and SPAs are in Russia. Would love to visit this museum some day.

this is one of the largest tank museums in the world. A huge collection of armored vehicles from all over the world. It is located near Moscow. Many unique exhibits.
