Idk to me this tells me covid ISNT a conspiracy. Cause it'd be done more like this. More correctly. Not some haphazard killing of the workforce with an uncontrollable virus. This is controllable. However they miss one critical flaw with grey death: Maniacs at home. There are at home scientists who would find out that it's a nanobot. Just like out at home scientist reverse engineered the Moderna mRNA vaccine.

Tony Chang Actually I got into the series randomly picking and playing Human Revolution first (which is also one of the best games I've ever played). Then, when I learned at its ending that it was a prequel of the original Deus Ex (which I didn't know until that moment) I decided to go after it. Needless to say, it ended being also an awesome gaming experience for me despite its age (and some flaws, such as the overall crappy voice acting).

Sextus70 I first started playing in 2002, two years after the original was released. Little did I know that the game would change my life forever. I have yet to play "Human Revolution," but the story and the characters were superb. If you want a good laugh, try Googling "Optimus Prime Dragon Tooth Sword." There should be an image of Optimus Prime himself holding what looks like a light blue sword.

The facility this conversation takes place, in-game, is in fucking China. It's implied in-game that it was the site where they developed the grey death. When I bought this game many years ago, I played this game expecting a cyberpunk adventure. Instead, I got prophecy of the world 25 years down the line. OG Deus Ex becomes both even more amazing and even more terrifying with each year that passes.

I had this memorized by heart when I was 12. I was obsessed with this game. It was also one of my first steps towards getting my English to the next level so I'm quite grateful for its existence in so many ways.

After tried Cyberpunk 2077 (which is a really good game) I still do belive that Deus Ex is the best cyberpunk game ever.

The world is on the brink of climate collapse and ecological breakdown, corporations have complete control over your bodies, minds and every other aspect of your life, world governments have completely collapsed and in their place, there are giant megacorporations who constantly go to war with each other etc. In Deus Ex, the US government is still around but in Cyberpunk, the USA basically collapsed. At the very least in Deus Ex, there is some form of stability even if its a nightmarish totalitarian surveillance state.

I didn't like it because they said things that make little to no sense if you're new to the game. Consequently, I forgot most of what they said. The only thing I got from the intro was that there was a disease going around and they were exploiting it for power and profit somehow. Still, I suppose as far as 90s era intros go it is pretty compelling. FPS games weren't known for high-brow writing back then.

I know, right? This intro stages things very well, letting you know the tone of the story and some idea of the span of the conspiracy, but not many specifics. When I first played this game in 2002, I watched this cutscene but didn't really know what Page and Simons were planning. I knew that s*** was going to happen given Page's tone, however. Now that I know that both men were plotting to use nanotechnology to become man-made gods, watching this scene is a different experience. I'll be a happy camper if colleges and universities know about this game. EDIT: I suspected that people would post comments about current events. Deus Ex seems more relevant now.

Hold on:In games that have multiple endings, the player's actions change the game story significantly. In this scenario different end videos are required for different possible end situations. For example, the game Deus Ex (Ion Storm) allows for three different types of end situations and consequently it has three end videos. It mentions it briefly but that is what brought me here haha

What a great game it was! So many moments burned into my gaming memory. Looks like number 3 is shaping up along the lines of this gem, I sure hope so.

I love when he says "GODS" AND THE MUSIC IS SO AWESOME

Omg! 15 years ago I played this game; only now, 2017, after many replay of DeusEx, I spot Maggie Chow in the intro.

I love this game to death. It woke me.

***** In what way? It practically solidifies that Bob Page and Unatco are the antagonists before the game even starts, that when when Majestic 12 appear it is completely unsurprising to who runs it. This is given away at the end of the tutorial when Bob praises Denton after completion. In addition to this, Bob Page is about as 2-dimensional as any character could be and his opening monologue immediately writes him off as a stereotypical, power-hungry tyrant who wants to rule the world. If it were not for this very cut-scene, the twists of them being the people you are supposed to be fighting against would have been far better realised, much more motivating and suspenseful. In saying that though, considering the fact that every-one has the personality of a binary code and voices of a teleprompter capable of making even Microsoft Sam cry, it makes it almost impossible to care about your actions as you would in Deus Ex: Human Revolution. In Human Revolution the voice acting was at least decent and characters and sub-characters had a little bit of back-story to them so they appeared more relevant to the game's central plot. I can not say neither of those things in light of Deus Ex as none of these elements have the same amount of care or focus.

***** Honestly I havent looked at it that way, maybe its more nostalgia,I was in my Teens when first playing deus ex and I didnt make the connections fast enough, you bring up some fair points.However, what I meant mostly was that it is kinda dark and not some shitty shooting or omfg they killed this guy or some dream or whatever,basically I could imagine this kind of talk happening somewhere in real(more or less,other topic than augs obv.), also I wouldnt say that out of this talk you immedatiely would know that unacto is corrupted,rather infiltrated("I have someone in place") imho at least.Regarding characters etc. I disagree,I liked them in deus ex alot more and imo they had more depth and it touched alot more topics than just augs, not saying HR was bad tho either. Baseline:this intro touched and still touches me alot more than the one from HR does when they augment adam, but maybe I am influenced because I totally believe in shadow banks and governments and stuff.

***** Well Unatco are nothing but pawns, just like FEMA. Majestic 12 are the real enemy. I personally am not noticing any depth, it's pretty much people just blaming the government constantly. Where as Deus Ex: Human Revolution put forth the idea that the corporations had more power than the government. In addition to this, both had really vague A.I dialogue and I feel that Metal Gear Solid 2 is a better example of an A.I. People talk about the stuff that Deus Ex predicted, but that pales in comparison to what MGS2 had to say about our future. The whole thing about creating context through misrepresented information and how only certain individuals are made for success was creepy. In addition to this, the game also saw Tablets and social networking sites coming from a mile away. Kojima not only tricked everyone who played MGS2, he used it to provide an insight to how we as hard working people become too dependent on the information we only like to hear and ignore others because of popular opinion on said information. Deus Ex is far less relevant today as opposed to Metal Gear Solid 2. Listening to those codex made my jaw literally dropped. In addition to this, it is also probably the only game I have seen that challenges the notion that the presidency are nothing but pawns as well.

The real reason a game as epic as Deus Ex never gor remastered with new graphics....the creators of the game could see the future.
