It was a perfect day on March 30th, 2024, when the barrel pick team gathered near Atmore, Alabama at Big Escambia Spirits to choose a barrel from the historical rickhouse no.1. The team consisted of FD, LEO, veteran bourbon, and new bourbon enthusiasts. Everyone was given orders to have the enthusiast as well as new bourbon sippers in mind. The mission was to come to a difficult, but unanimous decision on a pour from one of four barrels. This pour needed to consist of all aspects that would excite anyone who took their first sip of this glorious spirit. A spirit that the Detlling family had meticulously produced and aged for over four years.

There was a large wildfire going pretty good while our pick was in progress and the calls came in but other crews arrived
