I deliver for Amazon, and I have been sent to Hazel Park distribution center and routed in SE Detroit and Dearborn Heights.... my god. I can't believe they send someone out there with a van full of merch by themselves. 4 out of 5 houses boarded up or burned out. People that may or may not be dead sleeping on the porches. Random screaming and gunfire. I skipped a whole apartment complex cus there was like 20 people having a brawl in front of the gate. I delivered to a section 8 apartment tower that smelled like armpits and crack. But then you go 3 blocks and its nicer homes, kids playing outside, its clean, there are buisnesses open. Its strange.

But then my neighborhood is nice, on Sylvan Lake, no crime. I don't lock my car, nothing gets ripped off. I don't even worry about it. Yes there are some dark skinned families in town, which i will not refer to as African Americans or any other terminology. They are just God fearing Americans. Some attend the same church as my family. They are well educated, family oriented productive people. We are all appalled at such behavior as seen in this video. Its self destructive and full of false pride, and unnecessary - but apparently..... exactly what they want. I grew up in the Cleveland, Ohio area and moved away because of the need for bullet proof glass in some businesses and even the offices inside of high schools! In the late 1980’s I used to work for a company that printed and mailed the promotions for the auto companies. I would pick up and drop off stuff every day in Detroit in a company van. My Boss would page me and I’d have to find a pay phone. One day I stopped at a pay phone near the old Tiger Stadium by a coney Island. This guy walked up and wanted a ride. I told him to beat it. Then I saw a group of Atleast 10 guys come around from behind the building. The guy that was bugging me at the pay phone reached in and grabbed me by my jacket. I realized I was outnumbered and took off driving forward dragging the guy. I told him u better let go cause I’m not stopping. He fell off and I just proceeded to my next stop. Never even thought about calling the Police. Didn’t have time my boss back then was a mean pit boss and I couldn’t be late getting there.

Somalia wouldn't have nice buildings with bullet proof glass. Only the Arabs and Indians that came to Detroit made that happen. In Somalia they don't have other cultures than black, so they don't even get stores that sell them junk food & liquor.

Low income, low education areas like this exist in every major city. It takes some serious discipline from parents and teachers to hopefully get 1 in 20 of the kids to want to make something better for themselves and get out of that kind of life (area) Sadly drugs and alcohol use at a young age is the norm and the parents are usually doing it with them so its a culture designed to fail from the start. This will always be this way and it will never change that's why they are called Hoods and Barrios....
