    I gotta admit I've been wrong about Fields. He still has some work to do as a passer, but he's using the thing that got him drafted. Yeah, Hutch had a good game. Helped having Harris in there and Okwara ate up the space that Chicago gave him while dealing with Hutch. He got a face to face with Campbell about losing contain with QBs, like last week when Rodgers had that big run. He did it again this week, but it's Justin Fields, c'mon. He seemed to adjust his game and played a little more in control, which has been his downside. He over pursues the QB a lot. Probably would have had more pressures if Buggs (98) hadn't been out there taking plays off. I wish Rodriguez had been playing, just to see his athleticism matched against Fields.

    I don't like that the pump-fake Goff did had no effect at all on him. When you're chasing down a passer, and he puts his arm up as if he's going to throw, you have to try and defend that, even if it turns out to be a fake. At least put your hands up. I'm not saying to stop rushing, mind you, but not reacting to the throw at all could lead to an actual throw being completed when you could have batted or tipped the ball and forced an incompletion. If Goff had actually had an open receiver just behind him, which Sanborn had no way of knowing if he did or not, it would have made him look very stupid for blindly rushing a QB and allowing an easy completion on a pass he could have stopped. Point is, you don't just blindly rush a QB. You have to pay attention to when they look like they're about to throw. He got a bit lucky that the QB was just pump-faking this time, but this will come back to bite him sooner or later if he continues to do what he did today.

    @@james_ford86 Apparently, Sanborn plays more instinctively than you would, James. While your advice does have some merit, it also robs the LB of some of his closing speed, and the intimidation factor of a full-speed collision. Also, "reads," "tells" and "coverage responsibilities" come into play. And none of us know how (or, even whether) Sanborn is instructed to react in this specific situation versus Jared Goff. It's hard to find fault with a winning play -- but somehow Bears fans, do find a way.

    This season was always gonna be tough, and by week 3 it was clear they were showing for a full rebuild. Pretty much everything has gone to plan, Fields continues to improve and show just how good he is and will be in coming years, offense through the air actually being a thing for a change along with the power running game, and losing by 3 or 5 each week is the best outcome. High picks next year, ton of cap space, '22 just setting up '23 and beyond 🐻⬇

    Fields can run, but until he gets some weapons around him, he's gonna have to win games by himself which ain't gonna happen. As for the Lions, isn't time to give Tom Kennedy a roster spot??? The guy just gets open and makes clutch catches.

I'm not sure why he hasn't been given a fair shot to return punts when Khalif Raymond really hasn't done anything special in that role. Kennedy reminds me of Wes Welker. A guy who wasn't appreciated by Miami, then became a really good WR when he hooked up with New England. I could see him hooking up with another team at some point and making a name for himself as a really steady slot wideout.

    Hate to say it, but no he won't. I remember when Trubisky became a fantasy-viable quarterback for about 4-5 weeks there in his second season. Then he got hurt and he still hasn't recovered. Even Goff has led the Lions to a better record this year. Trust me, the only problem Fields will be to anyone over the next 10-15 years will be his knee doctor.

    @@kristinpie he’s a better passer then Mitch ever was. Problem is this year he has a terrible line and hardly any talent at WR. • @kristinpie

    @kristinpie

    @@ashtonskush1220 I don't think any of that is true tbh. Fields barely passes the ball as is, and he almost never throws for over 200 yards in a game, let alone 300. He has some nice throws now and then (who doesn't), but then he also has that awful pick 6 to negate anything good he's done. I guess I might agree that Fields is "special" if by special you mean "can put up ungodly amounts of fantasy points and still find himself on the losing end week after week after week". It's as I said, he's one injury away from losing his rushing ability, and that's literally all he has right now. The stats are nice, but ultimately meaningless when you can't trust him to lead so much as a field goal drive at the end of the game. I've watched the Bears every week too, and all I see are the losses piling up. Considering the history of running QBs and how banged up Fields already seems to get week after week, there just isn't anything to get excited about. I'm sorry, but that's how it is. Fields will never get anywhere near a Super Bowl let alone win one, and tbh I'm not sure he'll even so much as beat the Packers. Unless you have him on your fantasy team (enjoy that while it lasts, because it won't), there just isn't anything to be excited about for Chicago, and I'm sure not. Fields can prove me wrong in the first week of December, but I think we all know he won't. And I will bet any amount of money that makes you uncomfortable that he'll find his way to another L at the end of that one too, just like he does every other week.
