Absolutely! It might take till after the bye for us to hit our stride as guys get acclimated to each other and we get our communication down with so many new moving parts but the talent is finally there.

Yes Steve. Gambling is involved. I was upset with AG until he started to blitz the QBs. Iffy was killing it.

I actually like the Lions defense.. even last year I did! Very underrated actually. Stout versus the run, forcing teams to throw the ball. I haven't heard anyone say this but I felt like Detroit wanted teams to throw the ball on them. Teams had to throw the ball on them or else they can't move the ball.. playing Detroit, you have a one dimensional offense. Lions held opponents to 20 or fewer points 8 times during the season. Because they are always throwing, they are always facing our pass rush. The idea of getting sacks, hits, bad throws, and potential turnovers. Teams are more likely to turn the ball over throwing the ball and that's what the Lions want. It's harder to throw the ball in the red zone. With the Lions offense, the defense just needs to force a couple of FGs or a few stops to win.. go ask the Rams or Tampa

Jack Campbell’s development will be crucial. Adding DJ Reader and Tyrell Williams will be Jack Campbell’s biggest asset. I am a high school varsity dline coach and I tell the dline all the time keep those guards off the linebackers. Allow Jack Campbell to take his read step flow to the ball and scrape gaps without those 6’3 320lbs guards in his way.

Good show ...Yes been saying since the draft. It's top 10 to me but even at a top half level with an elite O will win you a SB ....i think last year i told my son, how defense in the top half will win you a championship ....even showed him KC's defense from the year before, injuries aside i see this team in the SB in Feb '25 Made CB strength of the team after being a glaring weakness from the past few years. With additions of Reader (inside), Houston & Davenport DE will be a force helping Hutch

I'll answer you with a question Steve, is it possible our defense has passed up our offense in terms of ability? In 2023 the O was great and sometimes elite. The D was overall bad. But Holmes plugged every hole, he even used 2 fingers on some of the holes (shouldn't have said it like that) 😂. So now in 2024, the whole offense is back and intact. Should be great/elite again. The defense returns all its stars plus some stout free agents, our top two draft picks AND a trade for the guy that J. Chase calls the toughest CB in the league to play against. Also a few key assistant coach improvements(?). I have great faith the d will not be bad again in 2024. How good can they be? Good, Great? Elite? Smothering? Stifling? OVERWHELMING? GO LIONS!

I’d be surprised if the defense passes up the offense. But I wouldn’t complain given how elite the offense is

yes they can be top ten. i would be happy with top 15 this year also and that is to cover for minor injuries that keep some players out a game here and there thru out the regular season. i still think you do need a top 15 defense to win super bowls. but then i always remember the peyton manning super bowl first win with the colts. there defense was ranked number 30 th for the regular season but the offense was so good that they still won most of there games. but when the playoffs started the defense hit their grove and was rated the best defense in the playoffs. it is for this reason that i include top 15 teams in being able to win super bowls because they can click at just the right time.

Did he forget to mention James Houston? The last game he played against San Francisco in the NFC championship he only had 5 snaps but he had 4 hurries and one pressure. He just wasn't healthy till the end but he's good now as far as being healthy.

He did mention him, but just a quick blurb, didn't talk about him. But what Houston does will be a large factor in determining how good our defense will be. I just don't see Davenport staying healthy, hopefully I'm wrong, cuz he'll likely be effective if so. If not, someone like Houston is gonna have to step up to improve that weak pass rush.

100% if the Lions D stays healthy, they will be a top 10 defense. Top 15 would be worst case scenario if there are 10 other defenses shutting teams down.

Their PPG defensively isn't as bad as it sounds.. Lions held their opponents to 20 or less points 8 times last year.. thats pretty much half of the games.

Teams won't run the ball on Detroit. Teams throw the ball on them because if they didn't then they wouldn't be able to move the ball. Detroit dictates what they do. Throw the ball or else don't move the ball. That's pretty good for Detroit but people don't see it that way

4:44 Lions only gave up more than 30 points three times all year Week 2 in an Overtime loss to Seattle 37-31 Week 7 in the blow out lost to Baltimore 38-6 And Week 10 when they beat the Chargers 41-38. So how was their defense giving up 30 points a game at one point? Feel like a made up stat.

Ok can you go back on the games that you'd say are D was shitty and tell me how many Turmoves we had and bad calls by Campbell. Also look at our D the half before or after all the turnovers and bad play calling happened. If you say our D lost the superbowl what did our High Power O do, same with the Rams game how many points in the 2nd half? I get it we gave up alot of yards but we didn't let many points up against the Cowboys and Minny both games the wr torched us. The Baltimore game the whole team sucked. Just do some research please our O and Campbell put our D in some shitty situations and our O scored in bunches the nothing. Thank you for apologizing about AG I got in alot of arguments with our fans on him. So he better have them boys playing this year lol #SUPERBOWL CHAMPS2025DETROITLIONS

The Lions have played above their talent level for the last three years. I remember that some people were calling for AG to be fired, but I knew that he didn't have talent to work with. Now, he has a lot of talent on the defense, and if they play as well as they did in the last couple of years....The Lions will win the Super Bowl.
