Destiny - Solo Skolas, Kell of Kells Kill on Hunter - Level 35 Prison of Elders / PoE Solo - Skolas's Revenge, Trial of the Wolf Kell with no deaths. Modifiers were Catapult and Angry this week. Last of the "final boss fights" for each expansion that I needed to upload solo, so figured should put this up. Had done this quite a long time ago but didn't record it then, and did it earlier today but the recording started late so had to redo unfortunately. Last thing I might do solo before Rise of Iron is the earlier parts of Vault of Glass solo - unfortunately Gorgon's Maze / Gatekeeper can't be done as a "true solo" due to extra members needed, but will do the parts I can.
The fight itself is fairly simple to solo really, which is due to being able to block the Devouring Essence when Skolas taints a Guardian's Light. You're also able to self-res through this, but decided to just block it as it's quicker and easier. The only part you need to be overly careful on is when the mines need to be dismantled at 50% and 25% health. Just make sure you're in a position ready to get to them quick enough and you should be fine (Bones of Eao with Better Control is a great help with this).
Chose Hunter as invis can come in handy when detonating the bombs, although I didn't really get much use for it on the fight. It does help in earlier rounds when you're doing this solo though.
Other than that, not too much to say about this as the fight is fairly straight forward. Due to the sword blocking you can do this on Titan, Warlock or Hunter and it won't make a difference, any class will do fine. I recorded the entire 35 PoE solo without dying also, so if people want that I'll upload entire run later on too.

Nice video m8. Krep it up, give up "solo" players some love ;) I solo that biatch every week, just because boredom. Also I'd like to point out that Hive room on arc burn is one of the hardest things ever in Destiny pve. Even as a 335 guardian, they can melt you so fast.

Thanks! Yeah the Hive room with Arc Burn was a real pain back in the day, haven't done it at current light levels but can imagine it wouldn't be too different.

Might as well upload the whole run if you've recorded it already. I'd watch it. Also love the soundtrack for this Boss fight. Saw you talk about the Shadow Theif soundtrack on the NF video too.

Will do either tomorrow or the next day :) I used to love the soundtrack for this boss fight, but having spent so long in here in HoW onwards, it's grown a little thin on me :p Still doesn't take away from it though ^^

I think blocking without an exotic would work too, don't think the damage reduction changes.

this may be a noob question so excuse me lol but when the devouring of Essence comes how come you didn't die? if you have a fireteam aren't you suppose to pass it on or something like that? I tried this sometime before but kept failing cause we didn't really understand what to do lol xD

With a fireteam you're meant to pass it yeah, but when you're solo you can either die and self-revive to it on a Warlock, or if you have a sword you can block the damage and it doesn't kill you and the debuff disappears.

what light level should I solo this on?
does this still give the raiding achievements i need the one for raiding with only clan members and not dying

I'm pretty sure it does for completing with clan members only, but not for the Flawless Raider one. Need to do a 6man raid for Flawless Raider.
I'm one of your biggest fans. But I have to ask. Why would you not do pvp as Osiris or any others ?

Glad to hear it :) As for PVP, I don't overly enjoy it that much so I didn't really want to be making videos for it. I've finished up grinding all the grimoire have done some Trials the different Flawless emblems and Scarab, but outside of that I'm not too huge on PVP. Mostly enjoy PVE and do PVP for completion sake/grimoire and the weekly bounties ^^

Just from the Reef area of the map. I don't remember if there was a questline or not, or if you had to unlock it somehow by doing the 32/34 PoE's though
i find defender titan best. y arcblade though?

Defender definitely works too, just went with Bladedancer because of the invis perks. Didn't really come in use here, but it can help alleviate some of the earlier rounds when dismantling mines.
Fuck the last part, been over two hours and I kept dying to the bs mechanic with Skolas curse. Why does it do insta kill instead of 50% damage instead :(
