The gist: We juiced Eris, Immaru rezzed Savathun, Eris killed Savathun got Uber juiced then *Locked Xivu out of her throne*

And then the backlash from Eris using her power in direct opposing of Arath’s domain shatters Eris’s ritual from within, draining her tithes (presumably handing them off to the throne world she just banished Xivu from) and knocking her out of godhood. Eris could technically always try again, but she herself has neither the need or stomach to do so. My question _now_ is… *_What happens to Xivu Arath’s now-vacant Throne World?_* I hope the “Hearsay” Episode of Final Shape is centered around a race by all factions to break into her empty throne and take Arath’s sealed godhood for themselves.

Eris cased Xivu’s house and stalked her until she left for her work commute then sprinted in and changed the locks out of pure spite

It sucks we couldn’t watch the 2nd half of this scene seeing savathun rise again and our guardian being a Giga Chad threatening savathun with a simple “I am”

The Guardian has always been straight forward. Destroy all threats to mankind by any means necessary sums it up. Considering they have canonically proven they are a definitive juggernaut of a combatant and will absolutely follow through on the any means necessary, I would trust that siding with them and not crossing them is the wise decision. And as long as thats the case, xenos get a pass to live.

Top of that, The Guardian is pretty smart too. Of course, they had some help, but being able to solve a lot of tricks and see through the lies of Savathún makes sure that a lot of conventional stuff she’s used on other people won’t exactly work on them.

The way into the Pale Heart might have been staring us in the face this whole time. At the end of the Lightfall, the Witness used our Ghost to make the bridge through the portal. We possibly have to do the same using Immaru. Might be killed during the process for a permanent link but that little twit gets what he deserves at this point.

Imagine you pull up to where your house normally is and it's just straight up not there. Except the house is a planet and you're a god and you know who did it.

When powered by Sword Logic it takes the energy in a far different manner. She was killed by a Hive, Savathun and Xivu only took those measures to power each other up when they're on the brink of losing its how Oryx became the Taken King after killing his sisters and adding their power to his, he stood against Akka the Worm god of secrets and used it's corpse as the outer layer of his deadnaught.

We killed both Savathun and Oryx with bomb logic rather than sword logic. With Oryx, we systematically slew his systems of tribute Crota, and every King's Fall encounter. With Savathun, we defeated her trickery by revealing the truth of the Witness's deception. Eris meanwhile killed Savathun with sword logic. The tithes we kept feeding Eris allowed the new god of vengeance to grow more powerful than Savathun and by proving her greater might, Savathun's power yielded to the stronger being. The act of killing itself isn't the trigger for the power transference but rather the philosophy of the death and the victor's desire to claim that power.

Pretty epic. Eris being challenged by a war god only for her to say “fuck you.”

I’m still trying to figure out why we are the ones fighting all these baddies when obviously the other guardians are so much more powerful than us. Eris one taps savathun while I had to dance around for 30 minutes. Ikora use a kame hame level nova bomb to kill a massive ogre and blast a hole in a door in one shot.

Thats all game balance. Canonically I think the main playable guardian is said to be the single strongest character in the franchise, or at least one of them. Hell we could use back to back supers at one point. Shards of Galanor was a thing!

No we are definitely the strongest guardian in the game. The reason "we don't" spam supers is for gameplay reasons. Allowing us to play the game at our character's lore accurate level would take away all challenge in destiny. We would be able to spam our supers and travel at the speed of light. It's the same concept as the doom series. In lore doomslayer can literally rip apart any demon with his own fists with ease. the only reason he uses guns is for gameplay reasons; and the lore for him using guns is that it gives him more of a challenge than if he were to use his fists.

I was seriously hoping that we'd bring Savathûn back by embodying her, and I was severely let down. Still, Eris killing Savathûn and taking her power was definitely something I expected.

Dang, the witch queen died 3rd time, and rezzed 2 times (final cutscene of Season of the Witch and after cutscene) and yeah, she left her own hive ghost, hehehe, looks like we're going to torture him without getting destroying the core (mostly we don't want to destroy him because he's the key of freaking final dlc!)...

@@MrVidman14 Its like fighting Orks in Warhammer 40k, fighting them normally is the literal worst idea. Beating them requires subverting their basis of strength. Xivu now has no immortality clause. Sure her army still serves her, but the Guardian has made it clear they can kill gods as long as they can deal with immortality clauses first (Crota was an idiot, and well Oryx kinda screwed himself with his power based decisions). And Xivu is very much now Guardian chow if we get a shot.

I like that savathun can be killed like Amy other lucent hive. Just when we fought her on the throne world she was at her highest power but now in our realm she’s just any other guardian she can be killed. There’s a lore entry that byf was talking about that apparently saint 14 had savathun raised and killed over and over…

From the way, it’s looking to building up this is gonna be the next expansion pass boss fight. They’re probably gonna treat this like witch queen one I’m excited tho

So Bungie’s writers couldn’t figure out how to deal with a character like Xivu Arath and Savathun and also deal with the Final Shape DLC, so in the span of 1 season they effectively dropped an anticlimactic “please accept our mediocrity” solution. Seems like everything surrounding Destiny has gone to utter shit.

it isn't going to get better i left when beyond light released and got a refund cause it shipped a broken unoptimized mess best to just let the game die at that point the devs don't care about making a quality game they just want you to buy every season pass as they remove content you paid for (curse of Osiris, forsaken, black armory, and probably shadowkeep under the excuse of "freeing up space") cut your losses don't look back.
