I here believing that Mara may actually be the Witch Queen. Remember that this woman Kept and Ahamkara as a pet. Figured out how to make wishes from it that only she benefit. She lied to her own people about not being the first awoken. Everything about this woman cries untrustworthy. In D1 who was Eris Morn calling "My Queen"? Cos I know it wasn't Savathun. I think she will sacrifice the crow in her attempt to control the dark and the light. This will confirm for me the the 3 states of the throne world. She removes Savathun's worm to get control of the Worm God's Powers, She sacrifices her Brother and his Ghost to get his light and from the lore she destroyed a Pyramid Ship to get control of the Dark. I know I know, I am delving into some crazy stuff. But just think about it

@@oryxthetakenking8275 Definitely. Makes me wonder if The Entity (Darkness or whatever) is implanting the whole "paracausal is ideal, thin line, etc" spell on the light-bearers. We've steadily been led to believe that balance is good, Winnower & Gardener, etc. But what if this is all a ploy, and darkness will inevitably consume the power-hungry wielder? Would make for an awfully controversial finale.

i like how no one noticed mara at the end of forsaken in the dialogue he showed us in the video told us what we need to do in the future she said "fear nothing. bow to no one" she told us to not fear of the nightmares made by the pyramid in shadowkeep or in beyond light to not be afraid of seeking power in the darkness and not to bow to caitel's command after which she came back in season of the lost

Interesting bit of lore. It makes sense that Mara would have some encounters with the pyramid ships before her return in the season of the Lost. Some of her dialogue During the season of the Lost hinted that she knows of something greater lurking. That would suggest that Mara was really after the worm of Savathun and had no interest in knowing about the approaching Black fleet from Savathun. Since she already encounter them.

It was so nice of you to use their names instead of their Vanguard record numbers.

@Evade in the end (concerning the lore entry sleepless) you said the last part of the dream doesn't really fit, since Uldren seemed to be present and that the dream itself is already fading and that it was possibly made up. But I it is very well possible that this last part was indeed part of Sjur Eidos dream. The clue here is the word "Tropaea" which - together with tropical - is a very funny pun employed by Bungie, since both words, Tropaea and tropical are deduced from the same word. This word is the greek trépein which can have a number of meanings, all more or less connected to movement. Now in my opinion the appearance of Uldren during Maras interaction with the pyramid could have three meanings. All deduced from Tropaea. Now we have to understand that trépein (the greek verb behind the latin noun tropaea used by Bungie) can mean both “turn around” or “rout/put to flight”. So going from this I assume this could either mean Uldren telling Mara that he is alive (considering he was resurrected not so long ago as you said, and Mara probably didn’t know this at that time) as in “turn around, here I am”, but it could also be understood as a warning by Uldren to Mara, that she should turn around and run away? Or depending on the interpretation of the word, that she should rout/put to flight the enemy. There is a third possibility if we do not consider the original meaning of the word, but rather what the noun used by Bungie was used for by the Romans. Because for the Romans a tropaeum (sg. of pl. tropaea) means both victory as well as victory memorial. Now the question is, why would Uldren say that to Mara? In my opinion it could be interpreted as follows: Mara did indeed destroy the Pyramid, so it was a victory, but the Pyramid wasn’t obliterated and now stands as a monument, a reminder of victory over the Pyramids, and also as a warning for the other Pyramids (curiously also the Greeks used something called Tropaion to frighten an already beaten foe and thwart their return, often using their own weapons and armor to build it). The things is tho, that Uldren does not use the singular, but plural, so he says victories. Now in my opinion this can mean Mara was victorious at least two times: one being the destruction of the pyramid ship, and the other being Uldren being resurrected as “Uldren, lightbearer” (something already discussed in Season 15). Maybe these thoughts help, maybe the don’t, but I think this is definitely something to consider in this situation. And after all, this is a dream, foreshadowing events not yet taken place (from the pov of the dream).

I think i saw month ago in a lore vidéo on KZread that just before Mara disapear from her throne world, speaking about someone she dreamt about it's The Exo Stranger. This would match with what you said here !

I've found something on the moon yesterday, when you go to the location where you start in shadowkeep campaign, in the facility building on the right there is a computer and there is a VENUS logo, and I'm sure it wasn't there, all of you can look at it and maybe solve something from it.

Exo Stranger says the same words: ""A side should always be taken. Even if it is the wrong side." In Destiny 1 famous Exo's cinematic. Maybe, time travell?

She is not a God. She has a lot of power but she is just as mortal as everything else. She doesn't even have control over her Throne World anymore since Dul Incaru took it over. And even so, how are we not her equal? She acts like she does so much for everyone while we are the ones who get shit done. Who destroyed the Heart of the Black Garden and raided the Vault of Glass? We did. Who killed Crota and his father Oryx? We did? Who keeps helping the Awoken out every time shit hits the fan for them(Wolf Rebellion, the Scorn Barons, Dreaming City crisis, dealing with the Wrathborn, rescuing Lost Techeuns)? That's right, US. I mean, there was that time she walked the Corridors of Time itself and rescued Saint-14, or that time she killed a Worm God. Oh wait, that wasn't her, that was us while she was off doing fuck all!

I think the overall role of Mara is to ensure that neither darkness or the traveler would win in a war. As she said once: a side should always be taken, even if it's wrong side. Suggesting side switch might happen. As we all know that awoken are born from the collision of dark and light forces. It is like seeing parents fighting, but wishing both sides comes to an agreement (in this case stalemate). It might be that wiping out either dark or light might cease the existence of the awoken.

Though I didn’t play D1, I once thought the Awoken were naive. To believe they were able to be neutral and not chose either light or dark, in war, one can’t be indecisive, sometimes there are only absolutes in war: those who win, and those who die. As well as what lengths you will go to, to win. But as Guardians discovered the truth between light and dark: that it’s not so black and white, and our previous dogma was naive, choosing balance between the two makes more sense. I’ve started to realize, while the Gardner and Winnower have motives and reasons. There is still so much we don’t entirely know about them. From what I’ve gathered of the lore, the two entities see the destruction of civilizations as a “game”. The Traveler discovers a new galaxy in the universe, like the Milky Way for example, raises it up, only for the Darkness to come and destroy it all, killing everything, or leaving said species bitter and betrayed. Like the Elksni. For as far as we know, this game of killing life over and over is just a test to the Gardner to prove its theory, but it doesn’t seem to pity the civilizations it destroys as a result of its experimentation. They’re both like siblings: fighting for eons while not realizing the chaos they’re both equally responsible for. For all we know, they have their own agendas, and only sees humanity as playthings on a board. Including Mara. It seems that Mara, Elsie and now certain Guardians want to end this pointless cycle. As both entities seem corrupt. The Travelr may not seem as malevolent as the Pyramids, but you can’t argue that it may drawn the Pyramids here and is just as responsible for humanity’s weaker state. Which makes the Traveler seem naive and careless. We’re bound to find out more about these seemingly uncaring entities when Lightfall and The Final Shape drop.

@@garrettviewegh677 interesting. What if the traveler is also aware of the endless cycle of seeding and harvesting. And want to put an stop to it. However, this seems also flawed, as traveler is more than often more concerned with its own survival, than the civilians it visit. See the Fallen. So the question I am concerned about is: why didn't traveler leave humanity just like the Eliksni? And why did it create ghosts in it's dying breath? What makes humanity so special? To me, in the Grand scheme of things, humanity is basically another Cannon fodder for the traveler.

@@garrettviewegh677 Two things, first choosing a neutral path could also mean find a third possibility, which the vex sorta did being semi-paracausal in nature. Second the Gardener and Winnower's "Game" isn't civilizations, it is universes/realities. At the level of existance those two are, it could easily be argued they have played a role in the Halo series with the flood being a creation of the Winnower, in the same aspect of what the hive were/are.

What lore tabs is this in? I want to read the whole thing. Not the part where shes human just the destroying a pyramid ship part.

She went to my room. There she did things to me that was unspeakable but very enjoyable. This is why I couldn’t do jumping puzzles, my legs were like jello. My ghost is traumatized and do not want to speak about anything he witness. When Mara request for me, my ghost is terrified what potentially can happen. I’m looking forward to our “PTO”…

Interesting how she is able to destroy a pyramid ship but not Oryx's dreadnought. Makes me wonder 2 things. Did Mara pull her punch and let Oryx beat her or is the Dreadnought superior to a pyramid ship. Or, i guess this would be 3 things, did she just make a mistake and underestimate the Dreadnought.

During the battle of Saturn, the harbingers were not meant to destroy the dreadnaught. They were meant to give Mara the “gate” to enter Oryx’s throne world when she died (Tyrannocide V), and they were also meant to burrow deep into the dreadnaught and “have children of their own” (The Coven). In the season of the hunt message from Mara, it appears that this gave her more harbingers as she mentions “deploying harbingers” against the black fleet. After the battle of Saturn, the awoken only had 1 harbinger remaining (the oldest). So it appears they did reproduce inside the dreadnaught.

The plan Eris and Mara made was never to destroy Oryx’s ship. Mara and the Awoken were only meant to destroy his fleet and prevent him from reaching Earth, which is what they did. The harbingers gave Mara the “gate” she needed go enter Oryx’s throne world, which she later took something from and then returned to Eleusinia once Oryx was killed by us. It was in the Tyrannocide V lore entry.

None of this (from Fenchurch) makes sense, or aligns with already established lore. Eris goes to meet Mara (from the Dreaming City lore book) as a messenger, to help give Mara the ability to form a throne world. Not Mara seeking out Eris.

I dont think that's quite right though, in that lore book Eris goes to the Awoken to inform them about Oryx, and then Mara decides afterwards but before the confrontation at Saturn to make a Throneworld. Then the stuff from Fenchurch seems to be after the Dreaming City curse has kicked off, the whole Exo Stranger talking about time loops to Mara to convince her to break out of the loop. That would make the two things you're talking about years apart, Taken King all the way to between Forsaken and Shadowkeep, and not contradictory at all unless there's something I'm misunderstanding from you?

What if Mara has been controlling the Taken and posing as Oryx The Taken King??

I really think Mara Sov is going to be the character that dies, if not then Petra. Mara took what was left of Oryx's throne world, don't see Savathun letting that go. Get this, we don't even know where we go when using the portal in the Hub to access Mara's Chambers. Plus parts of the Dreaming City skybox on max curse week looks very close to Savathun's Throne World (just explore before it's too late). Also Savathun could be disguised as one of Mara's Techeuns. One more thing, the purpose of the Corrupted Egg inside of Mara's Chamber and the 15th Wish have yet to be revealed. Though I always thought the 15th wish was the Dreaming City curse, the murder battery. Hopefully all will be revealed, instead of being retconned.

If the time to comes to take out Mara there will be no hesitation on that trigger pull.

Everything involving her is played out, Osiris and Crow as well, they're all seemingly powerful and next extremely weak and dumb. This lore had made Oryx look less godly, now Everything in the book of sorrow is a lie, but it's still beat for beat more of the truth than this lieing Witch Queen

I find it unlikely that Mara has actually ever done anything. Her capabilities are the quintessential version of "My girlfriend goes to a different school, you don't know her"

I think your not being fair, of all the powers in the universe Savathun needed Mara Sov to help remove her worm.
