The first recipe reminded me of my grandma's (my Name) would make a persimmon pudding (basically a Bundt cake with hard lemon sauce. I always wondered why it was called pudding.

In UK 'pudding' generally just means dessert (a word I never heard when I was younger). What my US cousins call pudding, we would have called 'instant pudding' or blanc mange
