Despite the Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Troubles, Windsors Are United in Their Grief for the Queen

Despite the trouble that the monarchy has been having with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Windsors are united in their grief for the monarchy and have attended her lying in state service.
Though there were likely tensions behind the scenes, King Charles III, Queen Camilla, the Princes and Princess of Wales, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and other major and minor royals all attended the event.
It was a beautiful opportunity to commemorate the Queen and give her to the people, so that they can say goodbye as well.

My heart goes out to the family. I'm sure they're grieving terribly. I've shed tears for the loss of the Queen, not so much for her passing which happens in due time to us all, but our loss of such an icon. I hope her legacy lives on, the good she tried to accomplish.

As I see it, Prince Andrew doesn't trash his family. His problem is caused by his association with shady characters thus putting the RF in a tight spot while the troublesome duo trashes the RF whenever they can publicly through interviews, documentary etc. putting the RF in a worse off tight spot practically the whole year through. Prince Andrew loves his mother and is there for her. Harry said he loves his grandmother but seems not keen to visit his grandmother when he had a few chances to do so.

As a bereavement specialist, I am angered at not only what is happening around the Queen and the Royal Family, but to each one of US. The anger we experience mixed into our respectful sorrow is a contradiction. It feels wrong because it IS wrong. Anger should not be a part of this time. That is what the Queen would have preferred. But of course we feel anger! It is not the anger that the grieving commonly feel at fate, at God, or at lost chances and regrets over losing someone we have loved. It is related to present insults, and observations of scheming acts of the Queen’s errant grandson and his puppeteer. Hand-clutching H$M are personally responsible for this conflict many of us feel. They have casually robbed, from each one of us, our own individual expressions of pure grief. Because of them, we have to deal with our own conflicting emotions of sorrow and anger -- and that takes constant attention. Some of us feel guilty for feeling such anger at this time, and again, the conflict of sentiments is really unpleasant inside us. Their bursting in, as always, cheapens the entire environment and turns it into a turf war. They know exactly what they are doing to the Queen, the Royal Family, and the public. They give this right -- to abusively manipulate us at such a time -- to themselves. HOW DARE THEY! ? They couldn't be more thrilled to be center stage. Though I understand the mechanics of it, at times I feel that I don't even know what to do with myself, I am so disgusted and heartbroken. It is an ugly mixture that H$M have orchestrated. It helps to be around these communities with all of you, and I wish you all well. We are unified in our grief. We shall walk forth together.

Hawwy shouldn't be so proud of his military service. He spent most of his time in the bunker playing video games. He wasn't allowed to fight on the front line. He had a group of private security guards to protect him. He flunked the exam to be a helicopter pilot. He never would have gotten into Sandhurst had he not been the Monarch's grandson. Yeah, he was in the military for 10 yrs where the military had to babysit him.

Andrew looks absolutely broken, Harry looks bored, that’s a huge indication of the difference between knowing you’ve been involved in a scandal that’s harming yourself and your family and not caring enough about anyone but yourself to feel like your responsible for the consequences of your own actions, To be honest though, looking at Andrews behavior history, marriage with Ferge and personal relationships with his own family he seems more of an asexual who tried to not look asexual than like a sexual predator. He was caught in a bad place with a bad association that everyone forgets Markle and Harry was also a big intentional yacht girl part of, Andrew was a target not a monster iMO.

I especially appreciated the clips of song and reading from the service. A very moving reminder that death and renewal lies at the heart of all this ritual. For we also see, as you mentioned, the Continuity that exists. It is represented in the prescribed steps, in the ancient buildings, but also in the younger generations that are coming after. Life goes on, and the Royals are blessed to know exactly where they come from. A timely reminder to know and cherish our own families. Thanks again!

Because the crown fell off King George's coffin while his funeral cortege was making it's way to the cathedral in 1952 (yeah, I know, horrifying) the crown was most likely secured onto that pillow, which was secured onto the flag and coffin. As for the women arriving for the service, you will notice that the man saluted Camilla, Kate and Sophie, but he did not salute Meghan. She got nothing. Also, not to split hairs, but Meghan curtseyed on the wrong foot/leg.

It’s so sad to think about everyone saying goodbye to the Queen. I wish that Meghan could just leave and that it was only about the family of Queen Elizabeth it’s a hard time and it would be so much better without her as a polarizing distraction . Meghan didn’t know how to pay her respects during her majesty’s life and caused plenty of unnecessary strife on top of that. She’s showing up a day late and a dollar short-and we know she doesn’t care. She is literally using the death of a respected and beloved monarch for publicity and personal gain and it is more than hard enough to grieve the Queen without Meghan’s stultifying presence added.

That older gentleman to whom Sophie offers a comforting touch is the 18th Duke of Norfolk, the most senior Duke in England. He is the Earl Marshal and is in charge of all the Royal ceremonies, which is why he greeted the royal ladies. Sophie would know him personally and would know what a terrible loss this was to him. Meghan probably thinks he’s a servant instead of the highest ranked Duke in the country who’s family has held the role of Earl Marshal since mediaeval times. We’ll see him again at the Coronation as he is responsible for organising that too.

Went there: Westminster was blocked by large barriers for a couple of hours, St James Park was full, and Green Park temporarily closed, with tube trains not stopping at either. Overflow in Hyde Park, with 4 big screens for the overflow crowd, the artillery guns shaking the ground every minute. Once the cortege had passed the barriers were quickly down and the parks opened. The Floral Tribute in Green Park opened with many more people bringing their flowers & messages, many kids' drawings, (& quite a few stuffed toy Paddingtons). Hours later I walked back through St James Park with the sunset over Buck House and the lakes to Westminster. The queue for Westminster Hall stretched over 2 miles along the south side of River Thames towards Tower Bridge. (Reports say it may extend to 10 miles, with a possible wait time of 10 hours.) Well managed, some army/navy groups in uniform, huge visible low-key police presence, twice as many stewards and construction/maintenance crews for the facilities, even some chaplains. Mood was quiet & calm.

The response of the crowds do indicate how society has changed in 70 years; in 1952, people were silent as the hearse of the king passed; they dressed in dark clothes for the occasion; and men removed their hats. This week, people cheered and applauded to show their appreciation, in everyday clothes, and there was a sea of flashing mobile phones. Not that one group loved their monarch more than the other, but how they expressed that appreciation has changed.

Gosh, as they were leaving Camilla looked like she was barely holding herself together - she couldn't even make eye contact. From The Australian newspaper.......(originally from The Times) Ben Tubuna, 21, admitted he was nervous as he lifted Her Majesty’s coffin out of the hearse and walked slowly through the doors of Holyroodhouse Palace in Edinburgh on Sunday. Images of the soldier from the Royal Regiment of Scotland were broadcast live across the world, with millions watching his every move. Tubuna, who is from Rewa in Fiji, described feeling humbled as he shared the weight of the late monarch’s lead-lined oak coffin with seven other soldiers. He indicated that he would carry the coffin in London on the day of her state funeral next week. Members of the regiment had been asked to volunteer to become pallbearers for Her Majesty two months ago and were selected “solely based on performance”, the soldier said. “I was informed by my superiors that I would be a pallbearer on the day Her Majesty passed on,” Mr Tubuna told The Fiji Times. “I felt blessed that, being a Fijian, I was given such an important task, but I accepted it with humility because this is my job, it is a role I have to fulfil as a soldier." In posts on Mr Tubuna’s social media pages he says that “everything comes from hardworking”, adding: “You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.” Captioning one photograph of himself standing in front of a military helicopter, he said: “Never give up on your life. Just get up dress up and show up … and make the job done.”
