So horrific and painful still, no matter how much time had passed-which isn’t a lot. Can’t imagine how Mamie Till was able to remain so dignified and composed testifying while sitting before the demons who murdered her young son.

Carolyn Bryant is living in NC my home state and she's literally making it a disgrace just by living there. It just makes you think of how sad it was for the people who were terrified to speak up/didn't have anyone to help when their family members were killed by racist people back then. The family who knew who did it, seen them do it, then saw the murders/or rapist in the same neighborhood head held high and there was nothing they could do about it safely, because America the Great bore children/society and culture to hate/despise black people who did absolutely nothing to them. Everyone only talks about how strong Mamie was which is completely true but my goodness did Mose know how to stand strong and tall. It has changed. Give me a recent case of a black man being lynched for whistling at, laying down with or marrying a white woman. Things have changed a whole lot. We can do whatever we want to. Anger has blinded a lot of us. Emmett didn't deserve this. He was an innocent child. He definitely wouldn't be lynched for doing this today.

In Mississippi and probably other parts of the south, Jim Crow didn't end until around 1970, maybe a little after. It took white people some time to fully accept the new laws and adjust to them.

It is crazy. I was born in 1987. Just barely made it. Everyone says it happened a long time ago but it didn't. If the on can still recall details and such it didn't happen a long time ago. Till was a catalyst for a movement just like every black man were who was murdered by police officers in this day and age. As long as this keeps happening it will always be talked about. Till and his family will always be a part of history.

Those murderous pompous men AND that woman who falsely accused the child were demons, and anybody else who supported them. @@lwrncjms It’s not an ethnicity but it is a skincolor, and brown is the skincolor, eventhough the race may be black. So it’s not wrong to say brown

One thing the show displays without saying is something never discussed. And that is how fly Mamie was. I know it seems superficial....but her style was impeccable and it really gave to the air of dignity she carried! Adrienne Warren is so good with displaying those subtleties in her stature and her style.

So true. She was beautiful and elegant. Something else I also noticed was (in my opinion) the racism even extended to the courtroom artist because that drawing did not come close to accurately depicting Ms. Mamie Till's beauty. That picture looked nothing like her but further expressed how she was seen in the eyes of those racist demons.
