Regretfully took the family yesterday to this one and it was painful on the wallet and soul. The weird accent voices was the worst part for me, I was already annoyed with Gru's character going in and then they had to throw in Will Farrell and Sofia Vergara, man it was rough on the ears.

That’s what I call the accent switcheroo: giving a character some kind of accent and silly manner of speaking as a substitute for personality.

I only paid 12 dollars for me and a friend to go see it because we had nothing else to do with our time. I would say it was very worth it. It's a fun movie. Especially for 12 dollars idk how much you spent on your WHOLE family going

I really like this franchise and I haven't watched this new movie but they really love milking these kid franchises until there is nothing left. They're making a 5th Shrek and Toy Story movie. It's like damn, can anything just end anymore.

That wink in the intro, I know it's just for me... truly the only way I can achieve climax.

The first Minions film is funnier and smarter than the others in the series. I don't get why that isn't recognized.

The Lego Batman Movie was a good example of "non-stop" but with some sense of plot and heart. This just sounds like a kiddie "entertainment" merch mobile.

I miss when this movie series had some heart..

I have enjoyed this franchise in the past, but in this one it felt like they were more interested in doing a bunch of minion shorts and threw in a thin storyline for Gru to make it a feature length movie. I didn’t hate it, but I instantly forgot about it. Kids will love though, and I guess thats what matters.

Exactly what happened to the creativity these days . They don’t care 🤷‍♀️ what the audience other people think plot doesn’t make sense 😢it’s sad 😔 unfortunately. Evil 😈 bad influence kids not the same like movies 🎥 used to be .

Sofia Vergara purposely exaggerates her accent. I have known about her since the early 90s when she came out in an Univision tv show. Her accent isn’t that thick

She went Hollywood and split with her husband and ALL she's doing is like you said - 'STEREROTYPES' and it's not just annoying but it's insulting to us as intelligent viewers. These 'actors' are supposed to be in the land of 'MAKE BELIEVE IN HOLLYWOOD' and they just put themselves in artistic corners where they will be stuck.

Did anyone else think that the shots of the characters in Despicable Me 4 looked at little too close? Like, that the "camera" should have been farther away from the characters?

You don't need to see a goat poop on the big screen.Wait for streaming.

I loved this movie, but I'm a kid, AND I watched it in 3D.

I saw it. I liked it okay. It was just entertainment and fun in my opinion. I don't have mega high expectations here. Spoiler - There were a few adult jokes that made me laugh like when the villian was at the gas station, Gru couldn't get regular old fashioned milk, I Am To Sexy played as the smug father next door drove away, I am just saying there were a few jokes that hit me pretty good. IDK to me it is worth a see at a matinee price. Also the song during the last 5 minutes was really good. We left on a positive and bright note.

This review is the closest I'll ever get to watching these movies

"Despicable Me 3" is a masterpiece compared to this one. I should have watched your review first and waited for it to show up on Peacock.

If you watch Despicable Me 1 and then Despicable Me 4 it should be glaringly obvious how much Despicable Me 4 sucks in comparison. The Despicable Me movies have really fallen off with Despicable Me 4.

What you started talking about at 3:58 happened to me as well. It's like I was completely zoned out and then suddenly came to. Reminds me of that experience you have when you're driving, suddenly arrive at your destination, yet don't recall how you got there.

Straight up respect to Adam for taking one for all of us.

We have a small theatre in my town tix are 5$, popcorn candy and 2 drinks 15$. I thought the mega minions made zero sense and added nothing to the story.

@@Seacai150 yes, I took my kids there and one of their friends. They were all very nonplussed about the experience. I took them to see inside out 2 a few weeks earlier and they absolutely loved it. DM4 is the weakest movie in the entire franchise, by a long shot. We all enjoyed the others a lot more.

Idk why this has to turn into some kind of serious debate about something made for small children. I’ll agree it wasn’t nearly as good as the other films but I stand by my first comment. We had a great time seeing this movie with its flaws and it was cheap. Seeing it on the cheap was my main point. It was only 10$ for both of us. I’m sorry our experience was different from yours and that it bugs you so much. You don’t have to reply to every comment, you can post your own opinion separately. This was the first Despicable Me movie for which I struggled to find a redeeming quality. But analyzing this like it's supposed to have any depth as a film is pointless My kids couldn't have cared less about Maxime. He might as well have not been in the movie. The part they liked the most were the mega minions, which I think were a cool idea but they're in the movie for all of like 5 minutes. The entire subplot with the beauty salon and the supermarket chase should have just been cut. That was a lot of minutes that could have gone to telling a better If they wanted to tell a story about Gru and the baby coming together, then they should have had some growth there. Like, say, how the minions take care of the baby instead of Gru. Maybe the baby resents him for that and Gru realizes he needs to change and feed the baby himself. Something that would have had Gru learn something like he did in every other Despicable Me movie.

Whatever one where they went back in time and Ballsac became the King of England was so stupid. That's where I checked out 😢

Haven't seen it yet but I am sure you are right. I feel sorry for the kids, although they may not realize it, the industry feeds them with junk and not with quality. Missed chance since the Despicable Me series had potential, but again they screwed it.

While I personally enjoyed Inside Out 2 more, Despicable Me 4 got all the children's laughs for sure. It's just for a good time with the kids. I think this really might be the last Despicable Me with how they ended it.

Despicable Me 4 felt cheap. I think I hate it. The other Despicable Me movies are better than it.

Despicable Me 4 is one of the worst films of the year.

Despicable Me 4 sucks! Lame villain, too many plots that go nowhere, incohesive overall, and missed opportunities with the minions.
