In 2067, due to crop failure and dust storms, humanity is on the brink of survival. Engineer and former NASA pilot Joseph Cooper is now a farmer living with his family. He discovers strange dust patterns that turn out to be the coordinates of a secret NASA facility where Professor Brand talks about a wormhole near Saturn leading to potentially habitable planets. Cooper becomes the mission pilot on the space shuttle Endurance. During their journey, they encounter giant waves, pass through Gargantua's black hole, and discover that Dr. Mann sent false data in order to save him. As a result, Cooper and the TARS robot end up in five-dimensional space, where Cooper transfers quantum data to his daughter Murph. This data helps Murph save humanity, which is moving to space settlements. Cooper ends up going to Amelia, who has set up a base on Edmunds' habitable planet.
