He was a badass for sure.
I was 8 when he did all this, I’m from Missouri, been a Michigan fan ever since! Might have to get me one of those Desmond jerseys, kinda ashamed I don’t have one already...
Man I miss Keith Jackson how made college football wonderful and amazing and hype I remember him as a kid

I love Desmond Howard, and remember he did this at smaller size than the majority in so many ways. ✔
ICONIC POSE!
Keith Jackson forever 😌
I lost my mind when that happened!!
Desmond has the pose, Woodson has the rose
It was Howard and Weldon being talked about all season long. Howard might have been ahead a little bit, but then Florida State lost back-to-back games to Miami and Florida to close out the season, and it was about as locked in as it gets. He won by the widest margin ever at that time. Worth noting, Michigan had two great receivers going into that season, with Derrick Alexander being the other one. Alexander tore his ACL in the opening game against Boston College, which ultimately probably helped Desmond get a lot more targets. At the time, ACLs were a big deal, having ended the careers of two star Michigan players (Tripp Welborne and Tony Boles) in each of the previous two seasons. But Alexander came back and had a really good career at Michigan after Howard left, and actually had a better receiving career in the NFL.
Back when Michigan wasn’t scared of Ohio St.
Here before Devonta Smith becomes the 4th wide receiver to win the Heisman
Keith Jackson greatest commentator ever!!!
I love looking back at this after all these years. Magical moment. Cant believe is was 30 years ago!!!
Even as a Auburn fan I think college football is better when Michigan is good
Had to come back to this after he zinged ohio state again this weekend at the Heisman ceremony
Loved it ❤️so ICONIC...
I remember meeting him my junior year in high school 1990. He was good friends with my cousin. My mom said i could drive to ann arbor for the weekend to hang with my cousin. So i took a buddy of mine with me. I had no idea i was going to meet Dez. We get there and Dez stops by to my cousins place. My cousin introduces us, my buddy says i already know who this is. My buddy at this point is all googly eyed like he just met Janet Jackson lol. Now mind you, i didnt watch college football at that time which i highly regret now 🤦🏿♂️. My buddy is asking all these questions totally embarrassing me, but dez is totally eating it up lol, an even goes to get his vhs tapes to show his past highlights from high school. Im just like dude ok i get it, u can play football big whoop. Now my buddy is like "can i get your autograph" "i know your going to the NFL". By this time im so annoyed, im thinking to myself, get off his jock. Hes got Dez all hyped up. Im like, dude slow your roll with the NFL talk. Now im pissed at my mom, because i had to take a friend, an he was the only one she trusted to keep me out of trouble. Needless to say buddy was right 🤦🏿♂️. The next year i started to watch just a lil bit 🤏🏿 . I mean that literally, i just preferred NFL better. But man i couldn't believe what i was watching when i did see Dez play. Then it all made sense after Dez won the Heisman. I was that close to greatness and didn't even know it.
