I’m laughing at anyone that is complaining about seeing a kind of luxury bag too much. It’s entitled and just being pitty. They feel they are more worthy than others. Real luxury lovers will buy and carry what they love and won’t care about what people might think. I am carrying my Neverfull with the same pleasure than my Hermès bags. Why? Because I have nothing to prove. I don’t feel that I am more worthy if I carry a Certain bag because it’s just not the case. I love designer bags and I won’t stop loving it.

You keep doing you but I personally would not want to pay a ton of money to have a bag everyone else has. I stopped buying luxury bags because they're everywhere here where I live (East Bay Area, CA) and I'm tired of them. People will think logo heavy, overplayed bags are tacky so buy them if you really want them but know other people will not like them as much as you.

I think what HRH is saying is that she can’t set herself apart in terms of status with a designer bag anymore because more people of different socioeconomic status are buying designer. I actually watch a lot of luxury videos and there are more and more people saving for these bags and doing unboxings. So you know they are authentic. I think that’s also why Brands are increasing prices. People are earning more these days. Even if people aren’t “rich” they can still own luxury. So too bad for her. She’s normal now. Lol.

She lives in California. That's explains alot to me. I live in suburbs of Atlanta and i hardly ever see designer bags i only see contemporary. If i go downtown, especially buckhead or midtown, they are everywhere.

Some people just like to complain and feel superior. If you like the bag, buy it. If you don't like it, then keep moving along. Seems simple enough.

I think people have embraced resale. The secondhand market has surpassed retail and that's a good thing for our planet. Buying vintage luxury items makes sense. They're better quality, cheaper than new, and stand the test of time. Her " tacky" comment reeks of elitism.

I buy my LV bags for the pleasure I get out of carrying them - and I carry one every day, everywhere. My favorites are not usually the most popular ones, but I don’t carry them to impress or get compliments - I carry them bc they bring me joy and I love to surround myself with beauty ❤️

That's not nice to say of her that ' tacky people ' have ruined designer bags, people buy what they want, I can afford designer bags if I want to, where I live, people don't really buy it, and I don't want to get robbed, if in an ideal setting, my life is accordingly to it, I would invest in it. I also noticed another woman that I follow for leveling up, I find that she also gets an attitude of sort feeling better than others who are not at her level in life yet, I feel then repulsed by that person. I can't stand it people that think they are god knows what, forgot how their life was once, they should humble themselves.

If she thinks they're tacky, she doesn't have to buy them. More stock left for us - designer bag lovers. I'll definitely will be buying some this year. Waiting for the autumn season drop. Having an eye on YSL purple Sunset bag.

I saw that channel once and that person was the rudest foulest mouth I’ve heard in a long time. I promptly blocked it and it’s funny that I see this here. Truth is, designer bags are becoming astronomically expensive. Many ppl are now saying that they are over because they can’t afford them anymore. But I don’t see anyone getting rid of their bags. Some ppl just need to take a break, which it’s totally ok and makes sense. Enjoy your bags ladies, life is too short!!

I never heard of this person, so I had to see what the hype was about. I thought, “Ok, long video she must have a lot to say”. After about 3 minutes of listening to her ramble about absolutely nothing, I had heard enough. She swears for no reason, and while there may be some points to her content, she was so all over the place, I couldn’t stick around to listen. Look, regardless of what anyone says, “it’s your money, you do as you please”. It’s just that simple.

I wonder if she is trying to steer people away from the bags she loves by suggesting the cheaper options.

I personally LOVE my collection and enjoy every bag i have…Ive watched HRH’s video, I mean she’s always mad and yelling at her viewers, she could buy a good quality bag with a reasonable price (coach, MK, Marc Jacobs…) as simple as that. Beautiful video Steph!

I think she’s calling people who buy fakes tacky. That what’s the point of spending $$$$ when there are so many people carrying fakes out there? I don’t like her. You’re right - it’s clickbait and attention seeking. I buy Louis Vuitton because I love the classic monogram. If I couldn’t afford the authentic, I would certainly buy the fakes, and sometimes I wonder if I’m stupid for spending $$$ on authentic when I can spend far less on a high quality fake.

Oh wow! I tried to watch the video that this girl posted and I just couldn’t. I seriously have lost the ability to even! She spent the first 40 seconds of the video primping and admiring herself. If she thinks that designer bags and the people who wear them are tacky, perhaps she should examine that mirror of herself a little more closely. 🙄 Anyway, I’m new to your channel, Steph, but I absolutely love your videos! I agree with you that people should be able to buy what they like (within their budget, of course) and just buy them because they like them. I love designer handbags & have since I was a teenager and my dad bought me my first Liz Claiborne (yes, I know I just showed how old I am!). I have close to 30 bags in my collection, most of which are displayed for my own enjoyment. My husband & friends think my collection is silly, but also cute. Whatever! We all have our thing. FYI: Saint Laurent, Chanel and Polène are my favorites. Thanks for sharing and keeping it fun!

I agree with you that luxury handbags are a representation of achievement. They represent that you are successful and that you have attained a certain amount of wealth by your hard work and talent, so I am very proud to have them. I am so happy I was able to reward myself with my dream handbags before the ridiculous price increases. I love my handbags so much that I spend time just watching them at home, and they also motivate me to go out or to travel so that I can wear them and enjoy them. So luxury handbags have a very positive impact on my life and I appreciate that. Anyone who says designer bags are done is probably done themselves and they want to blame it on something else.

Loved this video! Glad to see your passion. I think as long as you have a good sense of style and things you wear resonate with how you feel - that what matters. Most importantly I know it’s cliche - but it’s all about the person you are - your manners, if you polite or not etc etc, rather than what brands you are wearing. So to me being “tacky” is about lack of education and a proper upbringing than anything else. And if that blogger is swearing and is always negative - that’s who’s tacky is her. Ps I don’t own LV neither I watched that blogger.

There are Certain bags that are wildly copied and I didn’t feel they were special anymore so I sold my authentic ones- - I know mine were the real deal but when you see them everywhere and people are boasting they got it for 200 bucks I can’t do it. I have focused my attention and my collection on bags I love that are not overly Counterfeited. Are designer bags over for me - never but I am cultivating ny collection in a different way due to the saturation in the marketplace of not only Counterfeits but bags that everybody seems to gravitate to.

I have the on the Go MM not copied often I have the prada Cahier bag again not usually copied - the Lady Dior but in fuschia because that color is not copied - etc 💕

Hi Steph. I love your vlog. Always nice to see nice designers bags, watches, cars or other things. And if you really love the bag you can pay a lot for it. I TOTALLY agree. In general, the most popular styles are not special anymore because they have become a trend, so many people post about them and wear them they just feel overdone at this point. However, this is just the most popular styles. Vintage and understated luxury are still great!

I couldn't even watch her video due to her language and attitude. I feel like if someone has to try to be different, they most likely aren't....

To me it's not so much about luxury handbags this is more about consumerism, a lot of people go overboard with feeding their addiction I think she has some points but she's missing the real issue reducing your carbon print and over consumption

I for one have been eyeing designer bags/ready to wear from a far for many years and since I started the job I’m in now, I’m finally able to get my hands on some of these beauties that I have had my heart and soul on. I don’t think it’s nice to call them “Tacky people” but the fact that more people are purchasing high priced bags makes it common and not very special. The Neverful is an example. Lots of these people don’t have enough money to invest in homes, stock or anything of any real value but they have the latest “it bag”. If that’s all you can afford than you do you and enjoy what you can.

I regret not buying bags during the pandemic. Haha. Would have kept their value. Unlike other stuff. That’s why I really do see the value in them. Plus I would buy a classic that would go with everything.

I have skimmed through a couple of HRH videos and not a fan. Like when she talked about the Miu Miu bag and not understanding on who would spend that kind of money on it. If she wasn’t much of a fan of the bag, she could’ve easily not buy it. But maybe she liked it then and realized now that she doesn’t like it. But regardless, people buy what they want to buy and it doesn’t mean that they’re tacky or anything like that. Just not a fan of her.

I watched her video a couple months ago. I had never heard of her before that. I found her to be tedious, arrogant and just exhausting overall. I know some of that is just put on for effect, and I understand where she’s coming from, especially when you see how many influencers are peddling the same bags and then tossing them overnight. I don’t buy bags based off of influencers however, I buy what I like. She will still be using luxury bags, I’m sure. But I did appreciate the interesting take if not for any other reason than seeing a unique perspective (even if I found it annoying lol). I don’t see luxury bags or fashion houses ever becoming unpopular or out of fashion as a whole.

Two years after… I m interested to know if u think lux market is dying given the latest world development (e.g the surge of quiet lux, the econ downturn etc) !!! Could you make another video with ur (updated) view on it? 😊

That‘s a really fun topic! Billionaires will have to find themselves new hunting grounds with even higher end luxury products that no ordinary people will be able to afford. Unfortunately they‘ll be running out of traditional fashion houses who can fill that void 🤔 Poor rich people! 🤣

I think a lot of this comes down to rich people being insecure. If the only thing special about you is your money and the things you can buy with it, then they start to feel diminished when others can attain the thing that used to set them apart. Now what will they do?

The fashion houses don't care if homeless ppl buy & wear their bags. As long as they sell them. The exclusiveness comes from limiting their production to max efficiency. That's where it ends & begins. First come with the most cash. It's nothing personal. They let us & the SA's squabble about it. They are having tea & do not care. This is the 90's all over in that there was a bag storm then it was all yuppie & soccer moms were born with LV canvas in hand & ppl had a fit. Then graphics, music, & art took canvas to the getto's & ppl really lost their minds to find it at the other end of the spectrum. The top houses now cater to & revel in doing so to these markets. Why would they deter them on purpose after spending all that on marketing? They will remain exclusive & make as much as they can in the process off each piece from who ever is willing to spend the cash. It may die down again with another recession but will never die. And with such wisdom as you & other vloggers provide they can be a wise investment piece as much as any auto or jewelry on the market. And btw ALL lux contemp & the top houses have gone up. From Coach to Chanel bags are going to cost you more bc of inflation. And I'm afraid Europe is about to get hit hard in the Chanel.

The thing is now is easy even if real or fake to get them they everywhere so shes like ok I had my real stuff and I walk around then this tacky poor ppl have it . Ect so she gets mad she dont feel unique like in the 2000 it was less common And she also have diff taste she also call tacky not only the poor that get fake but for example a glam classy collector kinda like your style for her its tacky too lmao why she gets the random cheaper weird bags from designers . I have a mix of dupes and authentic. Sorry but I will not spend 3k+ for a purse. It's not that I don't have the money to afford it. I just think it's outrageous. My money can go towards the stock market or my retirement fund. If I make passive income or invest in enough that my monthly dividends can pay for it, then I may consider.

People that like quality and luxury will not stop buying. I buy some emerging hand made designer bags that are not crazy expensive, but the quality and luxury is undeniable. They go well with my beautiful LV and Fendi bags. The quality not crazy expensive high quality bags I’ve fallen in love with are Polène and LaFlore.

People will always want designer goods - I can’t see me ever not wanting them, even though Chanel really should be ashamed to be constantly increasing their prices. People have the right to spend their hard earned money on whatever they want to.

I sometimes feel overwhelmed with my bags but I still love them and yes I see is a great investment piece 🤩

Everyone can do what they wish, no one is better than anyone else. Buy what you want & be happy, ignore other people’s opinions. Enjoy life we’re only here for a short period of time. LV is absolutely tacky for me. And also now Chanel, since everyone seems to be wearing it right now. There are a lot of underrated brands with far better quality.

I think so in some ways. Its no longer “special” to see designer bags out and about anymore! In fact its become nauseating to see everyone with the same bag! For the last 2 years ive not bought any bags. Ive completely lost interest. Ive also sold most of my LV bags too primarily the most common ones. Its just boring now. Ive moved on to collecting other things now.

I feel like Alex knows exactly what she is doing. People love a good train wreck and she knows that. I don't believe her but she definitely knows how to attract viewers and her numbers show that. Who are the “tacky people”? The more expensive these brands make their bags, the more fakes there will be. And the better the fakes will be. Yesterday I was out for two hours, post office and one department store. I saw, during that time, two LV neverfulls, a fake empreinte fantasy bag and a bicolor noir LV mpa. And every time I go out I see little monogram LV pouches being carried as shoulder bags. It’s making me reassess. If I’m going to buy something it’s going to be something you don’t see every day.
