If it makes even the smallest change in your perception of the image, you will paint it quite differently, and hopefully better!

Thanks for these useful tips! By the way, what do you do with the usable paint that's left on your palette? How do you keep it from drying out before your next session?

No problem. I don't worry if small piles of paint dry on the palette. I peel the 'skin' off with a palette knife and use what's left, though it's usually not as much as you think it will be. Mostly I just squeeze out fresh paint each time because you're not really saving that much, and my time is more valuable than a few pennies worth of paint.
