We think in language. As far as I can tell from my experience, I do all my thinking in my language. It seems our ability to think the way we do is a significant part of our being the image of God.

I don't. If I'm thinking and moving quickly and someone demands I stop and tell them what I'm doing. It takes me a frustrating little while to think of words to describe what I'm thinking and doing.

I hear people saying Koko the gorilla can talk, but she had no idea of what she was saying if it had nothing to do with food or what she wanted. She may have had a large vocabulary, but had no idea what "Once upon a time" meant, but a 4 year old child does. Spend a few hours watching unedited video of Koko (hard to find) and you'll get the impression she is a well trained Parrot. Humans can talk to themselves, apes never do. In study after study primate sign language has never been shown to be language in structure, but is just mimicking. Darwinism doesn't account for the ability to talk either if the great apes cannot do what some birds are able to do it is doubtful language came from that direction either. Language defines humanity to a large degree.

Because God has given to us a Book to read, The Holy Bible, it is clear that He gave us language in order for us to know Him and communicate with Him, obey Him, etc. The purpose of the universe existing is that God can have children, a family, to know and love Him forever and to be loved by Him forever. Language is a crucial and vital element of God's redemptive plan. Language and communication lead to man being proud and so He had to confuse our language to humble us. Now we are commissioned to preach, teach and publish the gospel to every language and tribe. Man's linguistic challenges are essential because humility is an essential element of being a servant of God.

The idea of beauty is merely an attraction. A reward from the pleasure centers to drive the entity toward something. It’s like “tastes good” for things that are healthful to eat. Or “feels good” for environments conducive to the entity. A sun rise is beautiful because we are diurnal instead of nocturnal.

So, if I follow the argument correctly, language has multiple interlocking parts that all have to be there at once or else it has little utility - and no one has yet figured out a way for it to have arisen in multiple steps in only three million years?

The first part was very informative but he is a victim of the same fallacy he is opposing. He believes in a preconceived idea - the trinity and then explains everything according to his belief and then he is finding evidence in the Bible for trinity as if the Bible even mentioned trinity. His expertise is in language. She should know that in John 1:1 in the Greek text there is an article before the word God in relation to the Father and there is an article missing when describing the Word. The Son is not the God but a God. When you read the Bible you do not even get the idea that the spirit is a person. One needs to get that idea from somewhere else and then try to find verses in the Bible to support it. It should be the other way around - first establish what the Bible teaches, then formulate believes, not borrow believes from other religions and then try to look for supoorting facts. This and many statements of Jesus when he told his disciples he is not equal to his Father is more than enough to disregard the notion of trinity, which is of pagan origin and not found in the Bible. But the first part was brilliant

Exactly, the trinity is a doctrine from babylon, adopted by egypt and lingers to this day. No where in scripture does Jesus (the Word of God) place himself above or even equal to our Father Yehovah. Jesus made several statements that tell us he is not the Father himself but his Son, "the Father is greater than the Son", "no one knows the hour or the day of the end not even the Son but the Father" ,"i come to do the will of my Father", in Genesis it states that "the Word was with God, and the Word was god" means they are both supreme Kings but the Father is greater. We see an image if 2 kings in Joseph who was second only to pharoah even above the queen and again in herod who was king of Judea but second to roman emporer.

The OT never says God is made up of members and the Jews never worshiped a triune god. The triune god only exists in the imagination. The apostle Paul was a Jew and he did not believe the trinity. 1 Corinthians 8:6 (ASV) yet to us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we unto him; and one Lord [the king], Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and we through him. To Paul the one God is the Father. He never says the one God is the Father, Son and holy spirit. He also says: the Father, OF WHOM are all things Jesus Christ, THROUGH WHOM are all things Do you know what the difference is between “ OF WHOM” and “ THROUGH WHOM”? God spoke to men THROUGH angels and prophets but that did not make the angels and prophets God. Jesus was the instrument that God used to create all things. The Father is the creator. Notice too Paul does not give any recognition to the holy spirit in creating all things either “OF WHOM” or “THROUGH WHOM”. If the holy spirit were a person it would be an oversight. Heb 1:4 (NIV) 4 So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs. Jesus became superior to the angels because he inherited a name superior to theirs. Why would Paul say this if Paul thought Jesus was the almighty God? Wouldn't the almighty already have a name superior to the angels? Wouldn't the almighty be more powerful than the angels? Jesus is an angel himself. God gave him all authority and a name above every other angel. Why would God give Jesus all authority if Jesus is the Almighty God? Wouldn't Jesus already have all authority if he was God and equal to God? Hebrews 1:2 (NIV) but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. If Jesus is the creator God and equal to God why is he appointed heir over his own creation? Paul evidently did not believe the trinity. To Paul and the other Christians only the Father was God. The nature of God had not changed. Paul had never heard of a trinity in his day. The trinity developed over centuries after the apostles died and in the late 4th century it became Christian dogma when the holy spirit was added to the godhead at the Council of Constantinople in 381 A.D. a half century after the Father and son was declared to be of the same substance at the Council of Nicea in 325 A.D. Anyone believing as Paul did in the late 4th century would have been branded a heretic. Jesus and the holy spirit did not know the day and hour of an event. (Matthew 24:36) Jesus relies on his God for revelations (Rev 1:1) and to tell him what to speak and what to say. (John 14:10) Jesus and the holy spirit are not equal to the Father. The Almighty God does not have brothers in heaven so Jesus can not be the Almighty God. Heb 2:10-12 10 For it was fitting that the one for whom and through whom all things exist, in bringing many sons to glory, should make the Chief Agent of their salvation perfect through sufferings. 11 For both the one who is sanctifying and those who are being sanctified all stem from one, and for this reason he is not ashamed to call them BROTHERS, 12 as he says: “I will declare your name to my BROTHERS; in the midst of the congregation I will praise you with song. When adopted as a son of God you become a brother of Jesus. According to Romans 8:14-17 adopted sons of God are heirs of God, but joint heirs with Christ. If Christ is the Almighty God why is he a joint heir with his brothers? The holy spirit is not a person but is the power of God. It is sometimes personified. Matthew 11:27 27 All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one fully knows the Son except the Father; neither does anyone fully know the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son is willing to reveal him. But if the holy spirit were a person, the 3rd person of the godhead, wouldn't he also fully know the Father and Son? Many so-called trinity proof texts has no mention of the holy spirit. Matthew 24:36 does not even mention the holy spirit as not knowing the day or hour because the holy spirit is not a person. Jesus name everyone in heaven and himself on earth that may know but doesn't. He said only the Father knows leaving out the holy spirit. John 17:3 (NAS) "This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God[the Father], and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. So the Father is the ONLY true God. Jesus was sent by the true God. No mention of God being 3 persons in 1 God equal in eternity, power, position, and wisdom. The holy spirit is not even mentioned. In scripture the holy spirit is NOT referred to as a son of God like the angels and Jesus are. If you compare the parallel scriptures Matt. 12:28 and Luke 11:20 you will find the holy spirit is referred to as God's finger. Jesus was conceived by the holy spirit but Jesus never calls the holy spirit his father. Gabriel was sent to Mary to tell her she will conceive a Son by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will come upon you and the power of the Highest will overshadow you. There is a parallel between the Holy Spirit and the power of the Highest. It says the power (holy spirit) of the Highest (Jehovah) will come upon you and overshadow you. At 1 John 5:6-8, not only the spirit but also “the water and the blood” are said to ‘bear witness.’ The holy spirit is never seen as a person on earth or in a vision of heaven. It is seen as something not someone. At Jesus’ baptism it was manifested as a dove and at Pentecost as tongues of fire. All scriptures are in harmony when the holy spirit is understood as being something, not someone. So the trinity is a false doctrine. Paul did not believe it. Jesus is an angel that became superior to all the other angels when he was given all authority in heaven and on earth and was given a name above theirs. No one fully knows the Son except the Father; neither does anyone fully know the Father except the Son. The holy spirit would be included if it were a person. Only the Father has knowledge that the Son and holy spirit does not. It took centuries for the trinity doctrine to develop. John 1:1 1 IN THE BEGINNING WAS THE WORD, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The Word had a beginning. The Word is a created being.

It was such a beautiful talk until the time when you smuggled in Jesus peace be upon him how he executes the plan of God! It blew it for me. Having a son or children is a need for us to keep our ancestry going so it's a weakness that needs solution. So if God has a weaknesses then what kind of God is that??? Let's fix the concept of God first and then try to smuggle your beliefs in it. A God is someone who is free from all weakness, and perfect in his powers and whatever he does. And Jesus peace be upon him was one of His greatest messenger and nothing more. And God is one, period.

God could have had a Son out of a desire to have that relationship. Keeping our ancestry going isn't the sole reason for having children. Besides, if you're point is valid then similarly, the very act of creating could be construed as a weakness of God.

Hey Khurram, believe you are a muslim, may the peace of God be with you. I read your argument against God having a son, but I don't understand the full power of it. In the Hebrew the name of God (Yahweh) means the Selfexistent, the one who does not know any beginning or end. This God is not in need of any procreation to keep His ancestry going, because He Himself is eternal. How do you see this? According to me, the concept of the Son of God is just a way of thinking about God becoming human. As you I believe God is one. Jesus is not a different person from God, but He is the same person. Hebrews 1:3 says explicitly that Jesus is a representation/exact copy of Gods person. Jesus Himself says in John 14:9 "whoever sees me sees the Father", which tells me that Jesus is a representation of the Father on earth. I wonder how you would interpret these words of Jesus. I don't see any problem with Jesus being God, because God is all powerful and omnipresent. He can manifest Himself on earth in human form and be in heaven at the same time. Looking forward to your response. All the best, Robin
