Have a cyno fic bc I appreciate this playlist ^^ *+:｡.｡　　｡.｡:+* gender neutral reader || getting rescued by that red-eyed boy wasn't the end of anything *+:｡.｡　　｡.｡:+* Why is the desert so hot?! What divine force decided to make a region with no rain?! Honestly... Hot weather wasn't exactly your preferred working condition, and the sandstorms made it even worse. You'd already fallen into quicksand twice because of them, and you were only able to escape because you could just get out with your geo vision. But that was also up to luck. You doubted you'd be able to even make it to wherever you were going. But where was that supposed to be? You ended up finding a place to sit down and take shelter, mostly so you could check your map. But that poor thing got shredded at the second sandstorm you walked into. You slammed what remained of it into the sand and sighed. There was no way in hell you would be able to get anywhere without that map. It was just sand, sand, and more sand for what looked like miles. And if you didn't know better, you'd believe that you'd been walking in a giant circle because the heat was getting to your head. Guess I'm just gonna have to live with heat stroke until I die, huh? It's an interesting way to go out, I will admit. You leaned back against the rock, and fanned yourself off with your hands. You considered your options. You could drink your water and hike as far as you could in one direction, praying to the seven that your found a town or oasis somewhere, or you could sit where you were and just wither away with no hope of rescue. You went with the first option, and you were on your way within a few minutes. *+:｡.｡　　｡.｡:+* Your feet sank a little into the sand as you walked, but you were more worried about making it somewhere that had supplies. You didn't care what, it had been hours. The hot sand was getting in your shoes, and it burned like crazy. But you felt a lot better once you caught sight of a person. You hadn't seen anyone in almost three days, and they probably knew better than you where towns were. You ran across the sand as fast as you could, shouting for the person to wait. But the greeting you got was the side of a polearm in the stomach. "Ow... What was that for?!" You now had sand absolutely everywhere, and it was way worse than the polearm. The person who hit you seemed to feel bad, now that he could see your face. You sat up, and immediately regretted it. Your back hurt like crazy. "I thought you were trying to attack me. Sorry." You got up, and brushed the sand off, trying to see if it left burn marks. It didn't seem bad at the time, but the person with the red eyes seemed more concerned now. He put his weapon away and helped you, and it sounded like he was muttering apologies. Once you were all cleaned off, you introduced yourself in your normal way, a little annoyed.. "Well, that hurt. I didn't expect to get whacked in the gut today. Either way, I'm (Name). I was gonna ask if you could help me out, since my map got shredded by a really bad sandstorm." You were going to show him the remnants of your map as proof, but they were left behind when you last sat down and thought. So now you looked like an idiot. "I'm Cyno. I can help you, just this once." You had stopped listening when you heard his name. This was Cyno?! You'd heard about him from Tighnari but you never thought you'd actually meet him. He looked a lot better in person. You shook those thoughts off, and turned to follow him, since he'd already started leading the way. *+:｡.｡　　｡.｡:+* "We're here. Those sand burns of yours need to be taken care of, before you do anything else. I'm sure Candace can take care of you, so I'll be going." Cyno shifted his grip on his spear, before turning to leave. You knew the odds of seeing him again would be low, so you tried to go after him and at least offer to be friends. But those burns were pretty bad, and you fell over the moment you tried. "Eugh... Sand. Why is it always sand..." Cyno walked back over and helped you up, and this time, he didn't leave. Apparently he got the clue that you weren't quite ready to get left alone. He didn't leave the room until you fell asleep, but he still stayed nearby. But why was he doing it? He wasn't sure, but he considered leaving once, but felt bad and stayed anyway. Candace came out from checking on you, and for some reason, he got a little concerned. "They'll be fine. This isn't the first time we've seen something like their condition, and I don't think they're the type to sit still for too long. The only serious thing is the bruise on their stomach." Cyno felt even worse. He'd been the cause of it, after all. He didn't speak up, and only nodded. Candace told Cyno to take a rest before walking off to check on the rest of the village. *+:｡.｡　　｡.｡:+* "Morning, Cyno! Did you sleep alright?" You leaned over Cyno's shoulder, and he immediately turned to face you. You were still a little red from the burns, but you seemed to be doing fine. Cyno stood up so he didn't have to look straight up, and that's when he realized that you were still taller than him. How he didn't notice before, he didn't know. You didn't seem to have any interest in bringing it up, so the thought fell away pretty quickly. "Mm, I slept fine. Are you feeling okay?" You nodded, promising you were pretty tough, and you'd been through way worse. Cyno didn't ask any other questions. You were fine, for the most part, so his work here was done. But you did seem to want to ask about something last night, so he mentioned it. "Oh, right! I was wondering if we could be friends!" You extended your hand, and Cyno took it, secretly pretty happy that he'd have someone to hang out with. *+:｡.｡　　｡.｡:+* This is APPRECIATION, okay? ^^😊 written by me :)
