Totally agree with the fake shift points. Every “shift’ is a point of inefficiency and reduces the acceleration. They should have a setting that lets you turn off the fake shift programming.
@somestuffithoughtyoumightl6985

The car fits different personalities but clearly has a demographic. If you want to pretend it’s a race car, it will “fake shift”, but when you drive like most owners, the CVT doesn’t shift at all and will stay at one RPM up to speed. I have 2018 and it’s been a great do it all car for the money!

@@MacTechG4 But no, actually they are pretty great - We had a '08 Forester with the 5MT and a '11 Outback with the Lineartronic CVT - same basic 2.5l motor, but the 30% heavier Outback got much better gas mileage, and made a lot less engine noise at freeway speeds. Everyone who still has some fun in their hearts should drive a manual transmission Subaru in an icy parking lot once in their lives. But living with the CVT is so much easier.
I have had the onyx since November 2019 and I love it!!!! I wanted to keep it for only 2-3 yrs but I changed my mind. I am keeping it for life! It’s very fast, comfortable and when off road I have a blast. I can’t wait for the winter months because that’s when it really shines!

Even if I would never be interested in the car you're reviewing, I appreciate your non-traditional reviews. And fast wagons FTW.
I love your way with words & description of things. Never stop being unique. Keep being you.. ☺
Your video popped into my feed as I am currently eyeballing the Outback Onyx XT and I'm really glad it did! I absolutely love your sense of humor!
Keep being who you are and never change. Love your content !!!
Yes! The Sarah signature seat bolster move. Sarah finally gets why the seat bolster move is so thoroughly enjoyed by some.
I just ordered a 22 Outback limited XT I was unsure if I needed the XT or not but your video has proven to me that I made the right decision to spend the extra dough on the turbo. Great video as usual. Thanx

Always get a chuckle out of ALL your videos, even with little Sarah in tow. Shopped long and hard for my current vehicle this summer (2018 Forrester XT Limited w/Tech - that’s the Canadian Touring). Your reviews and your mods have been an inspiration - in fact your videos helped me decide to buy used, cuz XT! You’re the best!

Hi Sarah, my wife and I enjoy your channel. Feed back from this video. Your glasses reflection during your in car scenes hid your eyes and masked a lot of your facial expressions. Keep up the great work! Looking forward to watching more video!!!!
You've said it in previous videos and you're absolutely right, the manual transmission has become a luxury option we'll pay extra for if it's offered. If they sold this with a manual it'd be at the top of my list for a new car. If they sold an STI level one with a manual, I'd buy one immediately!

This- unfortunately dropping the 6 speed manual (along with the 6 cylinder) was Subaru's way of dealing with the EPA's increasingly stringent fuel mileage regulations so I don't think you'll see either make a return. AFAIK you can still get the 6 speed in Canada and other countries, just not the US.
Heck ya! Love our Touring XT! Only went back to the Outback because they brought the XT back. GREAT review - wish I had sand like that to drive it on....
I know probably 8 abandon warehouse Sarah's, and you are my favorite.
Your critique of car design got me to subscribe. Never put a lot of thought into the design choice manufacturers make from the factory. Taking a closer look at more than the drive train now. You do this better than most online car reviewers.

Minivans I can justify, if you need to haul lots of people all the time, it's much more logical than a 3 row crossover. However, between wagons, hatchbacks, vans, and truck based (real) SUVs, crossovers are pointless, overpriced nonsense in my opinion.
I love your style of reviewing cars! Keep it up!
8:00 T this is really deep and loose sand. I live here, and must insist that this wash-bottom sand is no joke. Any vehicle making it out this is awesome.
Love the technical details, great review to watch. Subscribed.
Best review ever.- keep it up Sarah - never change your car reviews or personality...
Finally a great video on an Outback XT! I just bought the 2022 Touring XT and love it. 👍🏻👍🏻
First I love Subarus, Second, the weirdness and random noises are great and why I subscribed. Thank you for this video.
Probably the best 2020 XT review I've seen. Pretty spot on to what I was saying to myself about everything when I was checking out the car out before buying it. I threw the crux motorsports chrome delete vinyl on and now I'm patiently waiting for RS-R to release the i-Jouge coilovers in a few months.
If there’s someone else who does such thorough and entertaining car test videos I am totally unaware of who they are 😊❤️ and that’s the truth 👍
I always liked fast wagons & would like an STI version, too. The Outback's have had the folding roof rack for a while now. I'm with you on the CVT.

Owned a 2010 outback premium 6 speed. Got tboned (broadway-wilmot) now have a 2010 Forester XT. I like the Forster for everyday. But on long drives you cannot beat the driving position in the outback.
The sound track stood out and added to the show. I liked it.
this was absolutely fantastic. thank you for existing xD
I am also somewhat confused on pretty good enthusiasm for X and then a lesser score at end. But LOVE your self-assured, cocky attitude with desert dry sense of humor. Makes my day.

I came to KZread to watch Subaru Outback videos (because duh) and aimlessly clicked here. The lack of traditional automotive journalism was welcome and the wacky humor was not lost. I just got rid of my '05 Dodge Magnum RT and got an '11 Outback 3.6R so I've got a thing for fast wagons too haha you've found a new subscriber in me tonight 🤙
I love her unfiltered rawness. Best auto reviewer.
You're so fun , thanks for being you
super interested to see you review the wilderness!
I own an Outback and I really felt that when you said "and then fake shift, and then pause..."
I just got (2 weeks ago) a 2024 OBXT and am liking it so far. I git it with 1500 miles on it as the Sales Manager had been driving it as a Demo. My first Subaru was a 2002 WRX Wagon (pretty sure it was in the Impreza line at that time). I loved that car as it was the first Stick I ever had with a Turbo. I only had the car for a little over a year, but it was great in snow and on the dry street. I see your point in comparing these 2 cars, although I have not had the Outback in snow yet. Great review!!!
