Guy hasn’t had much sleep in days and is managing a huge hurricane that’s impacting a huge portion of the state. He’s doing a phenomenal job here.

I've seen nothing but linemen, TECO, first responders, and other relief efforts and it hasn't even started raining hard yet. DeSantis is proactive, solely because he cares about the people of Florida. Give him a break, this is a Cat 4 hurricane off the coast of Southwest FL. He is responding as rapidly as he can being a governor. Props to this man, and screw all of the reporters politicizing these natural disasters for "gain".

When I was a sergeant in the air Force, I told my guys that I was their shield. They were to bring everything to me, and I wouldn't let them take heat for anything that I could help. My bosses hated me, my troops loved me. I wouldn't have it any other way. Leaders protect people and use their authority for that purpose, not personal glory.

Absolutely. And the irony of this video title by Forbes - "DeSantis Snaps At Reporter's Question" further illustrates the inaccuracy and coloring of mainstream media. He responded appropriately to a ridiculous question. A proper title would have been "DeSantis responds to stupid question from the media"

I live in Florida right outside of Tampa and WE had plenty of warning. Also they closed the schools Tuesday to prep ALL.of them as Shelters. Shelters and Supplies are available. For it being MY First Hurricane/Tropical Storm I Feel They Did, Are Doing and Will Do what needs to be done.

Love our governor!! Best in the country!!

I love how DeSantis keeps these press meetings focused and puts a stop to the media that's trying to distort their purpose.

This is what folks fall for, appearance. Mean while he bans books, limits education, denies facts and history and targets any person or business that disagrees with him as well as pushes false narratives . If you want to live like 1984, he is your guy. That being said, how he handles this hurricane is not a political issue and it appears he and his team is doing as good of a job to be prepared for it so kudos there.

You guys are doing a great job! I've even had civilians stop me and ask if I was prepared, and directing me to sandbag stations and other services that have been made available. This is my first year in Florida, and first natural disaster, I am amazed at how organized and thorough the preparations have been.

He very calmly called bullshit on the premise of the question and then detailed why it was nonsense and what they were in fact doing to prepare for the hurricane. It’s exactly the way governors and other political, business and community leaders should deal with such gotcha questions from “journalists”.

DeSantis didn’t “snap” - he rightly corrected the reporter who was obviously trying to attack him, I’m glad he put him in his place. His response was professional & appropriate. From all the coverage I’ve seen & everyone I’ve spoken to who lives in Florida, DeSantis has been handling this emergency extremely well - he’s been very proactive & doing everything in his power to keep people safe & make resources available. Forbes should correct the caption on this video - their attempt to smear DeSantis is so transparent & I’m glad to see so many comments calling them out on it.

Declaring the emergency early allowed critical resources and infrastructure to be strategically positioned well in advance, so they could get to work immediately after the hurricane passed. When you say we are "kidding," you insult not only every emergency worker and first responder, but also EVERY Floridian, Georgian and Carolinian who was impacted by Hurricane Ian, including myself. I live in Florida, and I was affected by Ian. You owe ALL of us a big, PUBLIC, apology!! If you have any scruples about you at all, you'll own up to your mistake, apologize, and accept the consequences of your actions. If not, then you are lower than a snake.

I love the way he nipped the question in the bud. I'm positive that he loves his state and the people in it as well. A governor who takes control. Hats off to him. My daughter is in the Tampa area and I've been watching his briefings constantly throughout the day.

Very good for this Govenor, his staff, these good leaders! Thanksgiving for them being in place for such a time as this!

He started talks before it even hit Cuba. He was right to cut her off. Us Floridians who had to ride this storm out were well informed and honestly thankful to our governor for handling this so well. By asking such a question in the middle of a natural disaster is completely uncalled for. The fact he stood up for his people made me honestly like him even more because he was right. They worked their butts off to do their best to protect us.

It's so great listening to a man who knows what he is talking about!!!🇺🇸

God bless you and all those involved in efforts to minimize the damage the strong hurricane could bring. There is no politics at all in this, so shame to the reporter who made such misleading question!
