HOAS: Have you tried not living in an HOA? Property taxes: Have you tried living in county instead of the city? Insurance: have you tried not living in a flood zone? I agree with the question though, those costs are increasing. The homestead exemption needs to be adjusted for inflation and insurance needs to be protected from lawyers and roofers.

A 30x80 LOT in NY has a property tax of 12,000 and the house on that tiny lot is usually 1200 sq feet. Others are on lot sizes of 20x60 with 10k in taxes. Don’t complain

RELIEF DOMINATES my feelings! I couldn’t be happier that I left the left coast to return home to Florida. Crist was awful, Jeb was mostly OK, Rick Scott was great, but Ron DeSantis is an absolute genius! Brilliance combined with a take-charge, Florida and America first driven agenda that is truly a blueprint for America, he has out-maneuvered, out-performed, and out-thought every other leader this country has known in a century. The sheer amount of positive-for-us legislation he and our legislature have put into existence is nothing short of extraordinary, jaw-dropping, and brilliant. He protects our young, from preschool to PhD. He took the creepy Disney to its knees. He protects our water, our land and our agricultural output. I’m quite sure no other governor in history has done as much for We The People as he has. Hurricane relief was magnificently and brilliantly accomplished faster than any other time in history because he PREPARED for them. He cuts red tape and accomplishes everything he sets out to do. Oh, what he could do for the country as Vice President and later president! His youth and vitality will make America gasp at the speed he gets things done that we need! A Navy veteran, Ron DeSantis is who we need to lead us into whatever is in our future!

Not sure if you heard this, but the other day I read that 8 new insurance companies have signed on to do business in FL. You can google for the list of names of the companies. That should cause competition and typically prices come down.

I guarantee that is coming soon. They will look at the surplus and look at how much property tax they can cut and make up somewhere else. I would also bet that a new insurance company will come in as well. The big guys raised the rates and some moved out but what that will do is spotlight the best attributes of capitalism, competition.
