January 1, 2023. I was looking for a review of the Derwent watercolor pencils and this one popped up. I had to watch it, and hear this sweet ladies voice. I bought them, of course! Rest In Peace sweet angel, you are still teaching me how to color!

Well done and informational video, writing was easy to read, voice was lovely and words enunciated clearly. Thank you for being a great communicator. Also, love the nail polish.

Looking forward to seeing how you like working with them. Gorgeous colours! I put my 72 Inktense pencils in the same exact case and felt like it was made for them too . . . so compact. I am going to copy your bow idea . . . very cute and functional. Enjoy your new pencils . . . hope you have many happy hours with them.

I'm currently working on a big double spread in Animorphia with these as a base, so we'll see. It'll take a long time so complete, though :) And copy the bows all you want! But make sure to put some glue on them or they untie :) Than you!

Thank you for the swatch! I recently purchased a few of these and a few Albrecht Duhrer open stock to see if I liked them. I am not normally a Derwent fan, but they blend wonderfully even with regular coloured pencils. I have so far used them as regular coloured pencils, waiting to test watercolour properties when I have time. Enjoy!

B Jones you’re so welcome! I would love to have the Albrect Dürer.. just waiting for a good sale! ☺️ I’m not the biggest Derwent fan either, but I’m able to get them really cheap here in Denmark.. so somehow I have all the big sets now 😂 oh well.. at least I only had to pay shipping for these

MJ ROMERO ohhhh! You think my intro is done with these pencils! No.. ☺️ the intro is colored with Posca, Polychromos, Supracolor soft, white gel pen and Neocolors II ☺️

🙏Katrine. I have these too and I agree they are lovely but I so wish companies would get rid of those flimsy plastic trays. I always use pencils cases too. I think the colours are gorgeous. They were my first watercolours 2 years ago. 🌹

Sure! But I think it'll be a video for way, way into the future. I've barely used my Supacolor Softs and this set is brand new to me. So maybe in a year or so... maybe sooner if I get into a watercolor pencils phase :)

sweetvioletstar Thank you!! And yes I do have the full set of Inktense ☺️ I think it would be strange to compare these two, as one is ink and one is watercolor.. but if more people want, I’ll do it when I’ve gotten to know these pencils ☺️☺️

I got them with a wooden case

I recently bought a set of prismacolor watercolor pencils thinking how can I go wrong.... I went wrong. So disappointed. These however look lovely.

AlwaysColoring they do not blend out nicely, if you color them directly onto the paper, it is difficult to get the lines to disappear when you add water and they aren't particularly vibrant. Just nothing special. I love their colored pencils so I was expecting to be impressed. Nope.

I have had these for ages and not used them 🙈

AlwaysColoring I bought them by mistake ages ago as I thought it was the full set of inktense. I much prefer my albrecht durer ones but again don’t use the much so need to get the hang of them. How are you liking them.?

Sadly I have to disagree with you on these. I tried them at the Pencil Museum because of the lovely colours and bought a tin of 24. When I got home and tried them out properly, I was very disappointed. They were scratchy and left lines and unevenness after activating with water. I will say though that Derwent's customer service was very good to remedy the problem. I personally have found I love or hate their products, rarely with an in-between 😄

capyboppy Well what is there to disagree about? It’s just a swatch video and a first impression. I have no idea how they’ll be when I first start using them 😉 but the scratchiness and weird lines is such a typical Derwent thing! I have a few pencils in all my Derwent sets that does it.. I’ve given up with the costumer service.. just not worth it when they don’t bother selling proper quality at the first place 😂

AlwaysColoring have you heard about the new ‘lightfast’ range they are bringing out? Only a year after Procolour. Many are disgruntled at this after all the hype with Procolour. They could have just waited and combined the properties of both. For those who have little money and struggled to save and pay for Procolour, now wish they had hung on.

capyboppy Yes I have heard about their new Lightfast range ☺️ I don’t think too many are going to be that disgruntled if they did a bit of research before buying the Procolours. The Procolours are very poorly lightfast, so if that’s what they wanted.. yea you know 😉
