On 11/08/2023 Bob Metcalfe delivered a lecture titled Connectivity is A Thing, is THE Thing as part of the Dertouzos Distinguished Lecture Series at CSAIL. Robert "Bob" Melancton Metcalfe is a Turing Award Winner American engineer and entrepreneur who contributed to the development of the internet in the 1970s. He co-invented Ethernet, co-founded 3Com, and formulated Metcalfe's law, which describes the effect of a telecommunications network.
