I've watch that episode so many times and still piss myself at the final scene. So well done, perfectly written and the comedic timing of the actors is next to godly.

It's set in the catholic part of Derry/ Londonderry in Northern Ireland and 1995. Unlike possibly every other sitcom in history the location where this show is set is totally foundational to every episode- the humor and the characters personalities. Some of the best writing on TV EVER! I've watch all episodes at least 5 times and it gets funnier each time.

I never thought I would see a reactor to the Derry Girls I bloody love that show and Sister Michael is just phenomenal the whole cast are.

I already watched Derry girls like a month or two ago on Netflix, I am again watching via this reaction, I love this show 💖

You are so right: Orla is a very common name in Derry, like my name. Having my name in the US has been pure torture. I get called "Frugal" meaning Cheap; In Brooklyn I'm called "Foigal" and I'm learning to embrace the multiple interpretations of my name with the patience of a fallen saint.

Hi! This is definitely no criticism to you, but it may help to read up on some of the Irish Troubles before watching the show, as it is pretty important. "Derry" also isn't short for Londonderry, it's what the Irish people call it (another result of the "Troubles": not acceptin English colonialism)

Probably the best Irish/northern Irish show ever

I’m so stoked you’re doing this series. It is absolutely fabulous!

Just about the name of the city - the city was originally called Doire in Irish (or “Derry” in English) by the native Irish, but when the English/British came in their droves, they considered the name Derry to be “too Irish” and so added “London”. And so nowadays the general consensus is that Catholics and nationalists (who are generally the descendants of the native Irish) continue to use the original name (Derry) and the Protestants and unionists (who are generally the descendants of the British who came to Ireland during the various invasions and plantations) will call it Londonderry. I know it’s very confusing lol!

When Netflix doesn't have much to watch. This is my go to repeat show. I've seen it like 9 times. Good stuff out of northern Ireland.

Oh I watched last nites season 3 ep 1 it was fantastic i don't want to spoil it for you but I tell you it's a masterpiece this is Lisa McGee going out with a bang I swear your Gona love it .. I thought no way is it Gona be better than last 2 series but my goodness it was fantasticcccc . One of Hollywood's biggest stars was in it an Irishman you got it yet ? The producers said that the soundtrack is contemporaneous with the plot. ‘Dreams’ was released in Sep ‘92 and ‘Linger’ in Feb ‘93. A later episode of the show features the Take That gig at the King’s Hall which was Oct ‘94.

Naaa…I’m from Limerick and live in Cork. Not one single joke is lost on us down here. But I agree that it would be hard to follow if your not Irish or Northern Irish. I see the Americans get subtitles when it’s show on Netflix!

Not judging you at all, my awareness in geography/ history is absolutely disgraceful, I'm a joke! Loved your vid, your laughing made me laugh. Subscribed.
