My friend and I met him when he was busking on Grafton Street in Dublin 4 years ago. I was so amazed by his voice. He did an amazing version of Young and Beautiful by Lana Del Rey, and I was hooked. We bought his CD and chatted with him for a while. He was so friendly and genuine. We've followed his music ever since, and it's incredible to see how far he's come in such a short time. Congrats Dermot! You're a class act.

@@cambo6911 to be honest the thought has crossed my mind, he makes reference to demons or the devil in lots of his songs. It's probably more likely that he had a religious upbringing though.

Most people I know, have stayed the course or at least returned to it. Life and spirituality can be a slippery slope but I'd say he sold his soul. As did Ellen. Pretty much anybody on her show has. She's americas number one puppet for the gay movement. The devil is very tricky

Had a weird dream that I met him in an Irish pub where he had been singing! He is amazing 👏

Some serious talent comes out of that country. Just another reason to love Ireland

by God with the voice that this man has is very underrated.

Just seen him live tonight and I am absolutely BLOWN AWAY. I was covered in chills the entire time and he then played moments passed andI lost it, I broke into tears...there’s not much that’ll break me...but omg seeing him tonight in Edmonton was an absolute Bucketlist concert , I didn’t want his performance to end. Absolutely incredible.

Great performance, most people lose their accent when they sing, nice to hear his Dublin accent to the fore!

Actually most of the time when you sing you stretch out consonants and vowels which is why accents tend to get lost. It's not strictly because people are trying to sound "american" Matty from the 1975 though defies this often. :)

I've watched so many pop stars go from girl next door to plastic. I am a nature lover and love the pure talent of both these Irish men and their awesome bands. By the way, born in America but I'm also Irish. ( Mcwhorter maiden name). That's just cool to me, ha! :) with DNA testing my daughter found out she is 100% European??? Mostly Irish!
