I'm on Accutane (isotretinoin) and its made my acne so much better, and my self confidence increased to much. It's had no negative side effects on me what so ever.

I was on Roaccutane for 6 months and it gave me extremely dry skin and Yknow what I did? Stocked up on intensive moisturiser and lip balm and moved on with my life without bitching all the time- my skin is now pretty clear and I don't get breakouts anymore- comparing that to the extremely red face and painful cystic acne I had in the past - some dry skin was not a major problem.

@@kiranmai8773 It is based on body weight. You can't dose yourself because you require LFT blood tests and if you don't have them you might end up destroying your liver. Typical minimum dose is 30mg so if that is for a 70 kg person you can work it out. The Roacc capsules in the old days had the dose on them and they were always Maroon coloured. That's my recollection.

Acne affects most people with bad diets. I used to eat so much junk. My skin was so bad. When i cut down the junk and started to eat more healthy food and went to the gym, my skin problem disappeared. Well, most of it but it is so much better!

This video actually helped SO much. The make up wipe thing is what got me the most. When he said that I realized what the acne from my face is actually caused by. Makeup wipes! I began to think when my face would break out, then I realized that whenever I stop using makeup wipes, my face clears more. Now I just have to worry about my bacne problem.

I haven't had an issue with coconut oil, i use it to take off my eye makeup before I use my clarisonic to was my face, and then if my skin is a little dry (more in the winter) ill put it on my face and use a hot rag and drape it over my face and let it open my pores for about 30 second and then wipe the oil off and if there is any left I rinse it off. I usually only ever use coconut oil at night

Some days when I woke up my lips where bleeding.. Osssh it was soo horrible. And I had nosebleed maybe 1 time a day. But then it was a amazing feeling that my skin looks incredible nice, no oily at all and I didn't have to wash my hair because it didn't get oili. I loved the results but my acne is here again. I was on the coconut oil train to take off my makeup. It did such a good job of melting everything off and my skin was great for a long time. And then I began to have terrible breakouts. I switched over to using mineral oil to remove makeup and my skin has recovered.

+Katie Hart i've read about mineral oil being comedogenic as well, and was told to avoid buying makeup products containing it... If its working for you thats good! But overtime you may find it will stop working and starts to clog your pores the way the coconut oil was :/ Everyone reacts to things differently though, just wanted to share :)

Thanks Morgan. I just go off of what I've learned from r/skincareaddiction on Reddit. I will keep an eye on my skin because I don't fully trust any product anymore. However, from what I read on mineral oil, the molecules are too large to penetrate the skin. That's why mineral oil and Vaseline are great at keeping the skin hydrated by acting like a sheet on the surface to stop any moisture from escaping. I do find that if I don't properly remove the oil after removing my make up, breakouts happen. I avoid this by removing it with a hot wash cloth or going over my skin with a micellar water. If you'd like to look into it, here's a thread below! www.reddit.com/r/SkincareAddiction/comments/1356nj/mineral_oil_and_its_benefits_for_skin_dont_be/

I’ve been on 40 mg of Accutane for one month so far. The only dryness that I have is my lips and they are not that bad. Maybe when they up the dose I will start to experience dryness. I use cereve products. It’s a good brand that isn’t expensive.

About a year ago, I started to become very spotty, extremely bad, covers both my cheeks and my chin. Although all my life I've been prone to a few spots this was horrendous and it was acne. It wasn't a minor case but in fact one which ruined my life for about a year. 7 months ago, I was subscribed from the doctors to a dermatologist. I was put on a course of roaccutane for 6 months and I came off it about a month ago, it took me around 5 months of being on the treatment before I started to see a difference. The dryness of my skin was awful especially my lips and face, but I got bad eczema in the cracks of my arms. It was difficult having bad effects and seeing no improvement but at 5 months my spots started clearing up and now I have no spots, only around my time of the month which are hormonal. I am now left with red inflammation on my face which is caused by the roaccutane because even after you stop taking it, it stays in your body for 6 months. It really has changed my life x

They strip the skin of the good things in it as well as the bad. A lot of them contain alcohol which isn't good for the skin and they also can increase oils and unbalance the ph levels in the skin because you are removing what the skin needs to keep it healthy x

Dry skin isn't the only problem with Roaccutane. I was on it for 10 months and just recently came off. I had awful side effects. I've lost half my hair; it's so thin now, and it really took a toll on me mentally. It's been an awful journey both mentally and physically. Really think about it before you go on. It effects everyone differently - you can't guarantee what side effects you'll get. It's definitely not a quick fix like people say it is.

I have been using Roaccutane for a month now and I think I do see my skin improving already. I have always had a very oily skin so I don't have a lot of dryness. Just a simple basic day cream has been enough for me. I think the lips are the worst, they keep cracking open. I use a lot of lip butter or eos (eos works for me, I know to some it doesn't) and also Vaseline, but I don't feel like Vaseline really prevents the dryness. Also my hands are dry.
