YEP. I got diagnosed December 2023 and JUST as I think I have a good routine down, BAM my skin flares up. Its so frustrating because I also have issues with clogged pores but my skin is dry. I need to go to a Derm but it's so so expensive for a consultation, I went to the GP (sent a single picture then had a 5 minute phone call) who gave me azelaic acid but said nothing else.

Thank you for sharing these amazing tips for managing sensitive skin and rosacea! As someone who struggles with both, I appreciate the advice from a dermatologist like you. I've been using DermalMD Rosacea Serum and it's been a game-changer for me in reducing redness and inflammation on my skin. It's great to see a product specifically formulated for rosacea and sensitive skin, and I appreciate the recommendations for additional skincare tips. Thank you again for the helpful video!

If you have rosacea or just weird bumps and redness try leaving salicylates out of your skin and hair care products ❤ switch harsh cleansers to oils (clinique cleansing oil for example) and use a moisturizer like cerave moisturising lotion. Theres a strong chance the condition of your skin will improve as youre not constantly destroying your moisture barrier with harsh cleansers, using scented creams with age old technology and aggravating skin conditions with salicylates/any other chemical youre sensitive to

I have rosacea with the breakout bumps. I use the sulfur cleanser, vanicream cleanser, tretinoin and antibiotics from my derm. Honestly the antibiotics really help control flares because they seem unavoidable based on the climates Im in and my sport activities. Life just seems to be a trigger in general. Unpopular moisturizer that works for me is the olay sensitive moisturizing lotion. Ive tried a lot of moisturizers. No fragrance, actives, etc. Its at target usually.

Thank you for adding this video to your channel. This really helped me a lot into knowing what I could try to use for my rosacea. I have been having this skin condition for quite some time already. Still trying things out in to what helps me out with my skin. Been doing the steps pretty much what you said just still need to find good products to use for my face. I wanted to ask you a question on how long should I wait when trying new cleansers or skin products to try on. Due bc I don’t want to cause skin irritation then it already is. Thanks for reading this and for answering my question. 🙏🏽

a lot of derms recommend niacinamide as an ingredient to calm rosacea-prone skin but it seems like my skin just cannot tolerate it - especially the good ol' cerave pm lotion - as much as i want to love it, it gives me red little bumps whenever i use it. until dr.dray pointed out that many people find niacinamide to be actually not helping their skin condition and people should be aware of that!!

Thank you for talking about Rosacea! I acquired it about 2 years ago, brought on with hyperthyroid. I use Retina A .05 about 3-4 days a week. Vitamin C, I don’t seem to have an issue. I do use Vani cream products, LRP, Olay and peptide serum. It took me awhile to find what works for me.

I thought retiinols were BAD for rosacea. A you tuber said he uses baby skin cleanser for his face, and I also put it in my hand soap dispenser. My cataract surgery caused a bit of eye area swelling, but it went away. The rosacea was increased, perhaps because of whatever they put in my IV. I only have the two small patches, but to me they are like two little enemies. LOL I AM SO GRATEFUL FOR THIS ADVICE RE: Newer creams etc. Several years ago a dermatologist gave me something that did NADA!

I get acne rosacea and dermatitis flares especially during cold weather. I do dermaplane once every two weeks, followed by Aquaphor. I use the mild Versed overnight peel (pink tube) twice a week. Adapalene is 3 times per week. Sunscreen (110+ SPF) any time the sun is up. I moisturize with H2V D3 Moisturizer (I may change it soon though because they added fragrance). At night I use Aquaphor around my eyes and moisturize with Jojoba oil or natural cocoa butter (it doesn’t break me out at all).

As someone with sensitive Rosacea (type 1, 2, and 3) fungal acne skin, very little works for me, I react to 99% of all skincare targeted for my skin type and conditions, but what few failed to mention is that it's also an eye disease, as my eyes hurt, and also being recently diagnosed with Diabetes type 2, it just adds to the pile of issues I have to deal with besides grass pollen allergies, food allergies/intolerance, depression, and anxiety, as both affects skin and eyes, and the two are also related. I'm also deficient in vitamin D which is common here in Scandinavia. Also skincare is one thing, but diet plays a huge role, and so many foods triggers flare ups! My doctor refused to refer me to a derm, and instead prescribed me Zoolantra, which made everything worse. I live in Norway btw. Been on Azelaic acid, non prescription from the Ordinary for the past 2 months, flawless skin in the beginning, now breakouts, which I'm not sure is due to purgin, food or flare up, as I already had purgin at week 2, or 3. The struggle of being a POC/brown, and have Rosacea. Everyone just thinks it is a tan, or that it is your actual skintone, NO! Sick and tired of it. Also no longer have a moisturiser that works for me as the Avene Extreme Tolerance Light was discontinued, tho it did kinda break me out as well. I've tried everything from the Ordinary, to K, and J beauty. Nothing works, or makes it worse which is why I now got Roascea in the 1st place. Neither Squalane oil, or MCT oil works. Not even Aloe Vera! Retinol, vitamin C, Niacinamide, snail, oats, rice and green tea breaks me out: redness, red bumps, and hives. So I've given up. Only thing I can use is a Japanese sunscreen from Nivea, but due to the high alcohol content it does also irritate. Physical is out of the question due to not fungal acne/Malasezzia Folliculitis safe. Prior to 2013 I never used moisturiser, cleanser or a sunscreen. And pre Rosacea, and fungal acne I used all the ingredients I now react badly to without any issues. Hate this! As a certfied hairdresser and MUA, back in beauty school, I learned I was allerigc to mineral makeup, and I've noticed I'd always react if alot of alcohol, or green tea in a product. But what escalated everything was when I got into skincare, like Korean, suddenly doing toners, serums, moisturizers, and especially actives, and chemical exfoliants etc, without patch testing, and just onto the next product if something didn't work when prior I had only used a moisturizer from the French brand Embryolisse, which had perfume, and Charged Water Hydrating Mist from MAC which they discontinued. My skinbarrier got ruined, tight and red skin, and nothing that I had used prior for years, worked pluss red bumps all over aka contact dermatitis. I never used to have acne, and if any 1 near my nose, never anywhere else. Not even during puberty. Then it evolved into Roascea. K-beauty is big on plant/flower extracts, water, juices and oils, while J-beauty is big on vitamin C, and Urea. if you got Rosacea, STAY CLEAR! So sad as it works for everyone else! Cerave and Cetaphil, as well as Vaseline breaks me out, thio teh Hydrating Cleanser from Cerave is the only cleanser I can use, and I use it only at night. Dunno what's wrong with me tbh!

I get you, you're not alone. Unfortunately, even with the correct ingredients, heavy balms and Vaseline can trigger rocecea, I have discovered the hard way, because they can hold heat to your face. Rosecea doesn't like being suffocated with heavy things. (And while my experience isn't identical, I get the connection between rosacea and chronic illness, mine is connected to MCAS, and is triggered by an increasing list of ingredients and foods and environmental triggers as my body becomes sensitized to them.)

... I currently use the la Roche posey Rosaliac AR intense as my moisturizer, it's the only thing that my skin won't start reacting to, yet, and reapplying soothes and heals my skin so much after a flush. (It's been over a year, so I'm hopeful.)

If you can, try Avene Antirougeurs Fort Concentre. It is completely fragrance free and very small ingredient list. It is rich, but if you apply to your face while it is slightly wet, you can apply less than half of the amount you would normally use on a dry face. I would wait for a sale like when they have 25% off. Good luck. My rosacea has been a battle. Some days are great and on other days it's a disaster 😢

Uriage Roseliane spf 30 is also a mild cream, they have a serie of products but i only tried their cleanser and cream. I now combine it with Eau Micellaire from Cerave, but heard that Cerave is not a mild brand. Before i used Eucerin anti reddness cream with spf wich is green, at the time it worked well, Someone mentioned to add cold milk on the rosacea spots during flare ups, it was advice from her dermatologist. I tried that with kefir and it helps.

I absolutely love vanicream. I have been curious about other products like facial moisturizers and cleansers and have tried a lot and have liked them but when I go back to vanicream all I need to use is the vanicream cleanser because it removes the water resistant sunscreen without stripping and ill use tretinoin with the cetaphil redness relief moisturizer then I go on with the vanicream cream in the tub over that that stuff feels amazing on my skin.

At the rate we are suppose to put sunscreen, every 2 hours, and also a generous amount , those tiny little 50ml bottle or tube would last for a weeks at most, NO ONE had the money to entertain that kind of expense, it's like "should i pay my rent this month or buy sunscreen" it's ridiculous.

Regarding Rosacea and the theory it is caused or worsened by demodex mites I‘d like to know your opinion on a certain skincare product called Demoderm. Main active substances are sulfor and zinc. It also contains menthol. This skincare product is supposed to detox the skin and doing so it is said it can lead to an intense worsening of the skin in the beginning as part of the detox process. The skin is supposed to heal itself eventuall so that - according to the Demoderm-thoery - the skin doesn‘t need any skincare at all and should regulate itself. During that detox period it is said, that Demoderm is drying out the sebum in the skin so demodex mites would basically starve and die and the skin can recover. The pores on Rosacea-skin are referred to as Demodex-pores. I‘d really like to know your opinion on these theories because I can‘t find any statement by a dermatologist, not on Google nor on KZread and I would like to know if Demoderm is worth a try. Many Thanks!

I have rosacea-like symptoms with redness/papules, but also very oily/"tacky" skin. It's hard bc the rosacea seems to be triggered by the oil, and the oil is almost impossible to remove without a harsh exfoliant, which then dries out the skin, etc. Soothing creams are all so heavy on my oily skin they don't absorb in, but without cream you can't get rid of the redness. If I use the cream, I develop weird fungal infections on my skin. All of this started after I caught cold sores, which spread over my face before being contained, so they also break out during a rosacea flare. They also have the same triggers as rosacea. I feel there must be a link.

I have a unique issue. When I was in the Army hot brass burned my cheek and stuck under my eyewear. (thank heaven I was wearing eye protection) I had a blister nothing too drastic (I even forgot about it). Now that I'm getting older it has darkened and the pores enlarged. Would mederma help or am I too late? Or is there something better? Vitamin c and retinol haven't lightened it.

Just stumbled on this video and realized I have rosacea and everything I've done to my skin or advice I've been given is wrong. Someone mentioned that they had a problem after using LED mask. It was recommended I use one by a esthetician and after I used it I got white pimples, I'm 60 and didn't have acne even as a teen.

5:51 I tried the Vanicream Daily Facial moisturizer, and my skin hated it. Within a day or two after I started using it, this moisturizer severely dried out my skin. My skin became incredibly dry to the point where many lines started to form, and my skin felt so tight that I couldn’t even move my face. I was especially shocked because many lines started to form all over my face that were never there before, including on areas where it doesn’t make sense for there to be lines, such as the eyelids. Luckily, the lines went away shortly after I stopped using this moisturizer. It sucks because my skin gets dry during the Winter, but I can’t even use a moisturizer to help with the dryness, because the moisturizer itself severely dries out my skin. I have never even heard of a moisturizer having this type of effect on skin, since it’s the complete opposite effect that a moisturizer is supposed to have. I’ve tried multiple different moisturizers in the past, but I haven’t been able to find any that my skin will accept.
