In addition to benzoyl peroxide (kills bacteria), use Nizoral (antifungal), once or twice a week on any place that moisture is often trapped, builds up, or skin makes contact with skin on your body. Pits, thighs that rub, inbetween toes, under any skin folds/rolls, etc. Fungus can also cause body odor - a very distinct funk. As a woman who was quite heavy (rolls) and now has excess skin after weight loss, until I can get surgery, I learned this tip from my derm. We all naturally have both bacteria and fungus on our skin. Oh, and Nizoral is also great for seborrheic dermatitis anywhere it pops up - not just for on the scalp.

Yep I’ve been using that in the hot and humid Florida weather. It helps everything I need it to…stinky pitts, dandruff, fungal acne….also the occasional jock itch, athletes foot, or ringworm. The regular Head and Shoulders works too (the one with zinc pyrithione)…it’s cheaper and way more gentle, but not AS effective. So I alternate depending on my needs. Best multi purpose products ever.

@@OO-qc7di Everyone's skin is different. What doesn't make me react may make others react. Thus, one should always patch test. However, I have sensitive skin that gets inflamed easily, but it works for me. I use a small amount (more dries my skin out) specifically on the area(s) that need it, lather it, and leave it for 2 - 5 minutes, and rinse thoroughly. Once a week is enough for me. I also use it on my scalp every-other week because I am prone to seborrheic dermatitis. Again, on the scalp, a little goes a long way and I leave it for 5 minutes so the active ingredient can have time to work. The shampoo is runny/liquid so I transferred it to a pump bottle and just use a partial pump to get the right amount.

I don’t think you need to worry too much about the garlic or turmeric supplements. There was this one guy I met who I swear smelled like he was sweating curry. Like he ate so much spice that it was leaking out in his sweat. Is that even possible, though? Or did he maybe just cook some curry and splashed it on his clothes and maybe the sweat mixed with that and it all evaporated off together in the heat? The guy was facing away from me, so I don’t think it was just his breath. Seemed to be radiating off him quite pungently. I do also have quite a good sense a smell, so that likely amplified what I was picking up, but I’ve never met anyone else that smelled like curry sweat before 😅

If everyone in the community is doing the same pretty soon everyone has nose blindness and no one can smell the curry. Its only when they change communities some one says something. It happens with people and perfume and cologne as well .They smell it for a little while but the nose gets use to is so they think they perfume is gone an d put more on .if you've ever wondered why someone walks in smelling like the dumped the whole bottle on themselves that's why.

I love you, Shereene, with all your 'e'-s and your amazing personality. Please, if you had a health scare, keep your armpits (and glance nods located there) away from botox or anything else that might cause irritation. Never hurts to be on a safe side. When I had them inflamed for no apparent reason, my radiologist told me to forget deodorants (even the 'organic/vegan' once such as Welleda, Logona, Lavera, Dr Hauschka), deo-creams (such as Borotalco), especially anti-perspirants and anything with talcum (talc). Just to use mild shower gel like ABCderm or AtoDerm from Bioderma or similar. Stay well and amazing!
I used to laugh at an acquaintance who supposedly stopped using deodorant. After trying out a body wash with some actives (AHA), I noticed I don't smell as much anymore. I do also use undershirts to prolong the "life" of the shirts so I don't wash them after 1 wear unless they get stained.
What are your thoughts on using the 7% glycolic acid toner from the ordinary? I saw a tip on TikTok and it is really effective. Better than deodorant. But I do question using it daily.
I had no idea that turmeric and garlic would make you stink. I take supplements of these daily to decrease inflammation. I have lupus, so decreasing inflammation is key. But my pits don't stink but other parts of me have developed a strong odor.

I don’t think you need to worry too much about the garlic or turmeric supplements. They’re processed into a form different from their natural state, and your body is going to process them differently as well. Also, I’m pretty sure sure turmeric in any form is not going to give you body odor. She mentioned cumin, which has a more pungent scent, and not turmeric. 💗

Very common with certain areas of India. They eat tons of curry and don't use deodorant. If everyone in the community is doing the same pretty soon everyone has nose blindness and no one can smell the curry. Its only when they change communities some one says something. They wouldn't know. It happens with people and perfume and cologne as well .They smell it for a little while but the nose gets use to is so they think they perfume is gone an d put more on .if you've ever wondered why someone walks in smelling like the dumped the whole bottle on themselves that's why. We don't notice smells that are there all the time.
