Derbent, Dagestan (Russia’s southernmost city 🇷🇺)

Welcome to Derbent, Dagestan, the oldest city in Russia (and one of the oldest cities on earth!). Situated on the banks of the Caspian Sea and dating back to the 8th century BCE, Derbent is one of the historical centres of modern Russia and the heart of Dagestan. It is also the southernmost city in the World's largest country. We arrived in Derbent from the regional capital Makhachkala to feel the history, taste the culture and taste some real Dagestani cusine! 🇷🇺

That story was already funny and then you tell us about the key snapping. I instantly thought of the lyrics to Hotel California "You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave" I could never go anywhere with so many roaming cats, I'd be stuffing cats in my backpack and kittens in my pockets to try and smuggle them back to Scotland! Great video, I'm always chuffed when your new vids come out.

You give 100 per cent in all your videos. Simply amazing. One thing that I am curious about is what you pack for each of your journeys. You may have mentioned in previous ideas but I have not come across it yet. Would be interested to know how or if your packing has changed as you are becoming more experienced on your travels.

What is the antenna of a cockroach called? Hint:-Since the cockroach waves them about, the antennae are also called 'feelers'. In fact, the antennae are the 'nose' insects - they are used for the sense of smell. A variety of individual joints make up the paired antennae. That implies that they can be very mobile.

So several weeks back I came across your channel. I really don’t recall how but I do know I was watching the New Year’s video as well as a couple other ones made around that time. I thought at first both of you were actually Russian lol. I wondered why two Russians were making videos in English! Then I read the ‘About’ section you have on your channel explaining that you’re from the UK and sold everything, quit the nine to five to go travel. I guess my next question would be how the two of you learned to speak Russian. Do you plan traveling to other countries in hope of one day going to them all? Also- what is your concern about the impending Russia/Ukraine conflict if any & are you even aware of it? Thank you for the videos & safe happy travel!

The "impending Russia/Ukraine conflict" exists only in the minds and in the media of the British and Americans, and it can only exist if one or both of these countries deliberately provoke it, which they are actively doing.
