I don’t often comment anything on KZread, but I have watched for many years, from the beginning and you inspired me to try the thrift/resell life back in 2017 (didn’t figure out depop but I became successful on Poshmark) and over time it has become a passion and my main stream of income ❤️😭 ily thank you for existing and sharing yourself online. I definitely broke up with one of my original favorite local thrifts too because it’s getting so expensive 😩

Omg I feel you on when tiktoks hit the "you're stealing from the poor" crowd, 100% only get those comments from people who didn't grow up thrifting themselves

No pun intended Melissa, but I am "obsessed" with this new series of videos! Please consider continuing them if you are enjoying making them and receiving feedback to do so! I'm a bit late getting here for this one... I often put on these longer form videos on when I'm either feeling stressed or due for some me time or self care... hence today lol. I worked on handmade project while watching and listening to this, and it certainly took my mind off of things and made me feel better! 😊 I don't really understand the concept of "stealing from the poor" lol... ANY person of ANY income can go to a thrift store, charity store, church sale, yard sale, the bins, or even ask for freebie clothes from loved ones (I have a guy friend who is a size XL and he gives me his size L men's tshirts for free that he wins at golf tournaments and such). NO ONE is stopping ANYONE else from going on an adventure or a treasure hunt, or from having successful finds on whichever path they choose to explore! Food... yeah I'm in Ontario too and it sucks. Not that I've tried to lose weight, but I have lost weight. Cleaning out my pantry, fridge, freezer, eating at other people's houses, not buying or eating in excess, and skipping treats most of the time are certainly regular occurrences now. I try not to think about it too much, which does help, along with being strategic with sales, and unconventional shopping habits like buying dairy and eggs from the drugstores when they go on sale every weekend lol! Random question for your next installment of this series and/or an upcoming video- I am not a reseller, but have passively thought about perhaps trying it out one day... maybe just to say I did it once, or part time for a bit to see if it would be a good fit for me... my question is if the seller's address is accessible and/or disclosed to the buyer? I would have concerns about a buyer knowing my address or the city I live in. Because things are shipped out, I'm assuming there is a return address visible to the customer. Does this differ from platform to platform (depop, instagram, etsy, etc), or are there ways around it, or is it recommended to use a P.O. box in this line of work? Thanks again for another awesome upload, and keep 'em coming if you choose to! You are stunningly gorgeous always- every upload, chill style, done up style... and complexion does not take away from your beauty no matter what state its in! Fawn 😍

As someone who grew up around the homeless and the poor because my parents, aunt, and uncle, ran a homeless shelter so my siblings and i grew up running around the poor & homeless and growing up we were low income, not poor, not middle class but somewhere in between. I'm pretty sure it was because my parents had 7 kids lol! but going to a thrift store was embarrassing and we would rather go shopping at the local Target or Kmart because the mall was definitely not an option. So for anyone says you're stealing from the poor by shopping in a thrift store to resell are LIARS! because poor people would rather get free clothes from a church or buy NEW clothes. There's NO in between. Thrift stores are for treasure hunters. NOT POOR PEOPLE!! Anyone watching your show is definitely not poor They're either here to learn and if they're watching your show, they're definitely NOT POOR EITHER! They're haters that don't know fashion and are mad at your awesome finds.

Mel, loved the video, you picked up some nice pieces. You asked how we are doing with the economy being so expensive and I totally agree. Three years ago a driver hit my car while I was sitting at a stoplight, because of that accident I had to go through physical therapy and dental surgery. It has taken three years for the case to be settled and although my car was still drivable but it was totaled out by the insurance company. The case was settled two weeks ago so I’m looking for a good used car and now have sticker shock; the car market is crazy!!! Speaking of crazy, people that say you are stealing from the poor aren’t aware of how many people benefit from you shopping/supporting thrift stores. Goodwill has free job training for people who need it, they also hire employees that aren’t always employable. AND shopping the bins keep items out of the landfills (oh, you just said that) LOL…. GREAT JOB Melissa and just one more comment, you are beautiful!!! ❤❤Judy❤❤

My husband is the same way with clothing. He has nice clothes that I thrift for him but he still wants to just be in a Tee and jeans half the time😅 I agree with the different climate areas; we feel ten times better by being by the beach!! Also, as someone who grew up poor and went thrifting just to find clothes to wear or in my grandma's case fit, I never once looked at you or any other reseller as "stealing from the poor". There is literally so much clothing at the thrift!!

I don't buy from Shien because they are unpredictable. I bought a dress and darts for the butt and the tags were in the front white the breast was in the back. I was so mad because I really wanted what I thought I was getting. Don't worry about what anyone says. You are making your bag. If it bother them, they can get up and go to the bin themselves. I have acne when I was young, but guess what? I'm 65, and I have nice facial skin, and it has been nice since I was in my 30s.

I'm so with you on the "taking clothes away from poor people" like that's honestly offensive, there's so much clothes for everyone and then some, i don't think they understand just how much stuff these donation places get like they can't even keep up and a lot of them just get sent back to the landfill anyways so it's just a really dumb argument. although I obviously hate the people on depop who upcharge thrifted clothes with insane prices but that's a different issue. also, i'm from the states and i go to savers and the prices are ridiculous sometimes, I only ever go if I have a coupon

i feel like thrifting shein is fine but most of the time the quality is so terrible that even if its cute its not worth it to buy because it probably isnt going to fit well or last long in my closet
