That single panning frame of Zero tossing his cloak is unforgettable. Remembering the complete hype MMZ2's intro filled me with is almost bringing me to tears. I would find any version of Departure I could (which was sadly difficult at the time) and play it on my MP3 player on repeat.

Okay but Sonic jumping from, a helicopter, and skating down the city, and running from a Giant gun truck, and meeting shadow that’s some awesome shit plus of course the beginning of FF7, especially in the remake that made that go so much more intense feeling, the start of MGSR, too.

Don't forget the ruined Zero 1 menu before he gets found and fixed up at Resistance HQ, that's the chef's kiss for me

One the the things I hate the most is when an arrange album fades out in the middle of a guitar solo like Mythos Departure, so to finally have a satisfying ending to that solo is an absolute godsend

No, he broke down in the desert and had to be brought to resistance camp to be repaired. He was fighting the war alone in the desert

Not at all, but he does do two important things with his life. Achieve both Thomas and Albert's dreams. His death brought together humans and reploids so that peace could be achieved, then the timeline he set the world upon, removes humanity fully from corrupting the mechanical children that they made. Also proves wily was the superior scientist, and that one man's cleverness can overcome even the entire world's backing.

He IS in fact the God of Destruction, even if Zero himself is a good being, his existence brings up the conflict and war, Willy somehow left a curse in the world in his magnum opus.

This series should continue for one more game like capcom should maybe if they ever made a new x game too, I’d love that, plus J’s, reviews love his mega man vids, and DMC6, in the future i know they can push devil may cry even further man.

Zero 2 was my launching point into the world of Mega Man, and I still love it to this day. And that love extends to Departure. The song holds so much meaning to it, for Zero himself, the series as a whole, and to me personally. There is no bad version of the song, be it the GBA original, the remix from the drama tracks, the Reploid Remix from the Legacy Collection, or even fan remixes like this one. Rock on, Gametal!

Dude, I just finished my Zero 3 A-Rank playthrough yesterday. The Zero series has become my favorite 2d Platformers ever, and that’s a pretty darn good bar after the titles I’ve gone through. This stage is probably the best way to throw a player into the game. Quick recap, awesome song, a broken down pause menu from the previous game, no tutorial, just straight into the game full blast.

@@lorenzo689 Which game? Zero 1 and Zero 2 were rough on me, but Zero 3 lines up everything to just feel smooth as butter. Satellite Elf system was probably the key factor as it gives you bonuses without killing your rank (old Elf system are the Fusion Elves, do NOT touch!). You can get an Elf that adds HP, then another Elf that doubles that HP, and now you'll have a MUCH easier time. Find the 2 Natural Sub-Tanks on top of that, and death won't be an issue at all. What IS an issue is that taking too much damage affects rank. Mind you, I *had to* reset stages that I had completed multiple times just for the A rank lol, but the EX Skills are well worth it.

@@littleguystar z3, since then i replayed the game and im now by the 2nd half of the game! Still think it's harder than the others but im pretty bad, oh and also i didnt risk it with the elfs so i didnt know there were some that dont hurt your rank, messed up in z2 with the elfs so i didnt want to do it again

God, the Zero series is probably the most depressing a Mega Man story has ever gotten; _no one_ is allowed to be happy in that world. And for being on the GBA and all the limitations that come with that, I'm still surprised at how much those little games make me feel. Great story, awesome music. And you absolutely nailed it, as always. The acoustic intro was a fantastic touch, too. And then Neverending Fight at the end, cherry on top. Thanks Jonny ♥

WE'RE GETTING OUT OF THE DESERT WITH THIS ONE

One of the best opening songs from any of the Mega Man series. Really captures that “Ahh shit, here we go again” feeling Zero has to be having.

This is one of the best intro stage themes ever.

This cover was perhaps a departure from my expectations, but by no means a departure from Banger Status! With each passing song, my hopes for Faith Is For The Transient People soar ever higher!

@@lemonadogirl4082 the only dilemma I have is that there are like twenty different song I want just as bad: Unlocated Hell, Princess who Slays Dragons, Immemorial Marketeer, Star-Spangled Pierrot, Tiny Shangri-La, Suwa Foughten Field, Chinese Tea, etc.

When I saw the teaser image at the end of Smithy's theme, I thought 'wouldn't it be neat if he re-did Departure? He doesn't have to but it'd be cool' Dude this is beyond 'neat' or 'cool'. You're amazing at elevating these songs beyond their original forms!

I played this song at my grandpa's funeral. He got out of the coffin, ripped his suit off, and yelled something about taking the fight to Neo Arcadia. He's been missing for 12 hours.

I waited so long for this, this cover is just perfect!! It perfectly meshes the mood of the original and I am so happy to hear the solo from Mythos followed by your own spin. Would kill to hear more covers of Inti Creates games from here. Azure Striker Gunvolt has some of my all time favorite music and none of it gets remixed online ;; Super underrated series!!

Yes! Not only did you do an acoustic version a while back, now this exists! Easily my most favorite song from any Megaman game!

The intro to Zero 2 is burned into my mind. After a year of non-stop fighting, alone in the vast wasteland that is the world outside of Neo-Arcadia, a broken Zero throws away his cloak and turns towards his enemies, ready for one final push towards his chosen fate. Departure is the music that best represents the Zero series as a whole. Thank you for doing it justice!

One thing I've learned in life is that you must always fight on, no matter what obstacles you have to face. Never let anyone or anything stand in your way, and never give up. This song has always captured that feeling of fighting until the bitter end.

Nearly cried when that little bit of Clover hit towards the end. This made my week.

A cool detail about this intro mission is that zero is always in his”heavy damage”animation that plays because he’s been wandering the desert for a year at this point

I swear, the simple sound of the winds had made me cry, and then the guitars just added the emotion. Departure is with Area Zero's theme, my favorite soundtracks of the Zero Series.

Finally, peak gets a remix! My favorite intro stage in the entire Mega Man series next to Green Grass Gradation (if that counts).

The Megaman Zero series will always be my favourite Megaman series in the franchise. And this song is a nice "Departure" from the old formula and into a new generation of Megaman. It helped shape my childhood and helped my find what's really worth fighting for.

Sometimes I see a new song on this channel and I'm just kinda amazed it hasn't been here before. Great job on one of the best songs in the entire Mega Man series!

How badass would it be if we got a 3D Megaman Zero remake in the style of something like Metal Gear Rising or DMC, and the story was rewritten to combine all 4 games into one large narrative (possibly split into 4 arcs to parallel the games)? I'm talking a stylistic, hack and slash combat system with flashy visual effects great sound design, with remixed music like this accompanying it the while way through

The Mega Man Zero games were really something. The first one was rough around the edges but they really smoothed things out over time. Departure is one of my favorite songs in the Mega Man series overall.

I don’t think I’ll ever understand the decision to make Zero’s “last stand” in the desert feel this triumphant when he literally just collapses afterwards and doesn’t really accomplish anything other than making Harpuia feel bad for him, but it gave us this banger of an opening sequence so I’m completely fine with it
