About a year ago they found a tumor in my head it it was cancer. Three days later they took it out and then I had a couple seizures so they put me in a coma for four days. With all of that done I was paralyzed on the left side of my body and I couldn't talk. I'm getting to walk and I can talk some but never take for granted what health you have. I am blessed so blessed to still be alive and I am thankful for that but two days before it I didn't think about cancer or my health. I thank God for the ability to think about it now

Fantastic vid... I live a few miles away and I've been to this spot a few times as a pedestrian, haven't seen a video so well produced here... Great to see Mike and hear his story, hats off to him and his spot... If you haven't seen it in person, it's definitely art. Small world... bout fell out of my seat when I saw that Mavro produced this, had a great time editing some stuff with that dude for the Nike 6.0 HBBmx Pro in... 2010? lol. Great piece Mavro.

Everything said in this video is so spot on. I've been digging and riding trails since I was 15 or so and I guess to begin with it was all about the riding. Now I'm in my thirties and can honestly say digging is as much fun and probably more important than riding. It definitely helps me get through the low times, it is a form of therapy to me too. The best feeling in the world is seeing the grins and smiles on peoples faces when they ride trails I've helped to build. It doesn't matter if you're throwing sick dumped 3's or just able to get through, the satisfaction of seeing people enjoy your hard work makes everything worth while. Digging trails is certainly an art form, it's a form of sculpting, an expression of yourself in some ways. This was the best day of my life - vimeo.com/136907109 Hopefully there'll be more like it :)

My father beat the shit out of his body doing some stupid shit in his life and working a hard job. Had to take drugs and drink himself to sleep every night because of the pain. Didn't lock the drugs up like he should have and my brothers got into doing drugs partly because of the easy access to my fathers drugs. Eventually one went to prison for 2 years. Later he killed himself. The other tried to kill himself but failed and has moved on to harder drugs. His life is a mess. Live your life and love what you do but take the time to protect your children from your failures.
