Denver Airport Swing Dance Flash Mob
Ойын-сауық
Holiday travelers at Denver International Airport (DIA) were surprised with an entertaining treat when a flash mob broke out in Jeppesen Terminal on November 22nd, 2011. Approximately 100 dancers from Community-Minded Dance (cmDance) performed a Lindy Hop to a medley of Swing classics in the airport's Great Hall in Denver, Colorado. Video by Rich Clarkson & Assoc.

I too grew up listening to this music. My parents would randomly start dancing & were taught as well. My dad was a Zoot Suiter. ❤ When I hear Big Band music it never fails to bring up memories of my parents dancing & the tears start. I was in marching, pep & stage band for 4 years in HS. I played the Tenor & Alto saxophone. Our HS stage band group put on a performance where we played a few of these songs, I got to play solo for the song "A String Of Pearls". Great memories hearing these songs. May my parents RIP & continue dancing in heaven. 🙏🏻🕊🌹

My parents were in their 20's during the War Years; dad in the Navy, mom in the Marines. They danced to this music. Every now and then when we were growing up, they'd Jitterbug. Watching these kids dance makes me think of my folks during the war years. Thank you for helping me to remember my parents were young once and what they were like.

We have the late Frankie Manning to thank for teaching this great swing style of the 1920s that still lives on. One can't help but feel the joyous energy of this dance. Started in the 1920s, got very big in the '30s and '40s, continued jitterbugging in the '50s and early '60s... kind of died out until maybe the early '90s lively revival and continues till today.
It was amazing to see all these young people dancing to music my parents danced to.
This gave me so much joy and I don’t know why.
Good music will always stand the test of time. As long as there are young people who appreciate, listen to, and can dance to many genres of music, there is hope for the future of this world.
This kind of entertainment needs to be in every airport!!
Dancing is the best exercise in the world I'm 75 but when I was 20 I was a go-go dancer in the cages I'm still one of The Originals that is left and I had a ball absolutely had a ball and I have those good memories and it's worth all the gold in the world to me not at one time that I really shined and this was my life and I was a part of that history in the 60s it's a good thing it's a good feeling
Just what I needed during this time, what we all need, a little escape
SO MUCH FUN! We grew up on this music and Dad (82) can still drum to this without dropping a stick. My kids got the biggest kick out of watching their grandparents do these dances in our kitchen a few years back! They could really 'cut the rug'!
We desperately need more of this in 2020! Such a depressing and crazy year :(
It's so good to see people having a good time in these desperate times !
Great to see kids enjoying dancing without drugs or alcohol.
Our family parties when i was a kid was my aunts, uncles and older cousins jitterbugging. Best way to dance!!
"Old school" dances like the jive are the most fun to dance. Our parents and grandparents dancing to this delight were onto something... 😊
Flash mobs are great. We need more of them.
Here almost 10 years later. So free...no masks. People dancing so close together...Lord, let us have this freedom back again!!
Oh my goodness I love to see these Flash Mod Dances. They look like these young people are enjoying themselves. I like how the people watching are enjoying themselves too!! For a few minutes all is good in the world. Thanks guys.
FAN DAMN TASTIC !!!! Did everyone notice that almost all of the dancers were wearing sneakers, and dancing on what looks like an ordinary commercial linoleum floor !!??!! A huge THANK YOU to everyone associated with this !!

So cool watching people do flash mob dancing. My favorite is one in Budapest where they all dance the Tango. In this vid, I really love that someone yelled "Encore!" after the performance.
Now, isn't it more fun to put smiles on people's faces, than holding a hate sign and protesting?
