Denon DJ Prime 2 Review
Buy It Now: www.amazon.com/Denon-DJ-PRIME...
The Denon DJ Prime 2 is a standalone DJ system that is the slimmed down version of the flagship Denon Prime 4 running on Engine software. The setup has many of the same features as its bigger brother, but also removes a few features in order to fit into a smaller footprint. The Prime 2 is aimed at those users who don't want to spend as much money, don't need four channels, and don't want to lug a heavy console around with them if they went for the Prime 4 edition.

Jogs are the same size on the 2 and the 4. The pads are smaller though
really want to use something like this in bars, and plug my decks into it in the man cave when at home. will have to go for the prime 4 but really wanted something smaller. nice review.
Nice unit, My SX3 is nothing but headache at this point, I get a loud POP and it cuts off, fader leaks (Yes I do take care of my equipment) Thinking of switching brands, anyways keep safe out there my dude great review as always
Reggae dj’s need that echo on the mic channel bruh. Wish it had that like the Prime 4.
I have a Prime 4... Love it
You make me so happy that I spent the extra money and bought the prime 4! Sounds like a much better value.

Prime 4 is great, but just too heavy and big. I don't need the 4 channels either. But I muss Serato DJ support and the Sweep EFX!
Hello, nice review but the size of the jog wheel is the same on both Prime 4 and 2
I really miss the zone out on the prime 2. That should have been included. Serato need to be implemented too.

Cleveland Terry for this and the Prime Go too would be nice. Options are great!

I disagree with the Zone (most DJs don't use it, and Booth is much more important), but fully agree with Serato Pro! Why only the Prime 4 got that? Denon, PLEASE ADD SUPPORT!
PLEASE Denon, follow the example of the Prime 4 and VDJ and *add Serato DJ Pro support for the Prime 2* as well! Then we would have the true 2-channel BEAST, thanks to great flexibility, and more Pioneer SR/SX/RX users like me could switch. Weddings DJs can use their Serato with Laptop, and change to Standalone on smaller or club gigs, where the 7" screen is sufficient. The Prime 4 is great, but too bulky for many.

Aye, crossing my fingers for Serato Pro support (eventually). Having the flexibility and additional ace in your sleve is always welcomed. VDJ is neat, but Pro DJs stick with Serato or Traktor, period.
Is it possible to play/control samples playback through the aux, like from a mobile app or a sample device?
Do you think this would be a good first controller for a beginners?
i really want to love this controller but, the music coming through the headphones are very underwhelming. Not sure if it's a setting i'm missing but, compared with the other controller i have, it really lacks bass and clarity for some reason.
Gracias.
You forgot to mention. You cannot hear the MIC signal through the headphones. So if your into broadcasting or recording or just want to hear the MIC that someone is talking into ontop of a noisy room. Just something to be aware of.
Great review man , one question though. it's a standalone system, can it be used connected to a laptop?

Yes, you can connect it to a computer to use this with Virtual DJ and to transfer files.

Yes with Virtual Dj
Yeah I was think prime 4 but that would too much for music software stuff that cost lots money
Is it true you can connect via ethernet to laptop
Be even better if you could use serato with it like the prime 4. Do like the streaming built in wifi tho oh and the standalone use.

Absolutely, not going to buy it as long I can't keep my SDJ support. And the Prime 4 is too big and expensive for me.

Someone laughed at me when said prime 4 to big
Since I no longer do gigs anymore and am just relegated to my home studio for live stream mixing, would you recommend this unit for that situation?
@RealDJblaze

Honestly, I would probably get a controller instead as computers are still a bit more powerful and can do more than these all in one units. If it's just staying in one place then the computer is really no issue... Check out the DDJ-1000SRT. That's what I would go with if I didn't use turntables all the time.
I’d rather have the go
Do the performance pads have a click to them like on the MC4000?

I honestly don't remember, but I probably stated that in the review if they were or not...

@@kareemthedream6084 Thanks for the quick reply. You go through the pads at around 13:25 but didn't mention that detail. I saw you did a demo with them but it was hard to tell. No worries, though. Still an awesome review as always!

How do you compare the Stand Alone unit to a standard controller & laptop.
@RealDJblaze

The performance is pretty close, but the bigger laptop screen is nice to have along with features like Sampler and Pitch play tone routines that are only in DJ software.
