    Why oh why is this still relevant? Certainly Dennis' argument, then, was clear and direct enough, for even the smartest of humans, to admit the emperor has no clothes. I fear the reason this argument continues to be relevant is because anti semitism completely eclipses basic common sense. I'm trying not to lose hope.

It’s crazy just how out of touch with reality & brainwashed by US media so many US people are & this guy is a prime example It’s ludicrous that he got/gets to broadcast in the US to so many people because of his myopia but that’s probably the reason why he did/does

    The notion that Israel is defending itself is as absurd as the notion that a rapist is defending himself from the victim, because Israel is the occupier. The middle-east conflict….In a nutshell, it’s this: One side has been enduring displacement and occupation. The Palestinians, descendants of the ancient Canaanites, aspire to live in their own homeland, free of occupation and with rights equal to any other nation. They recognize the Jewish history in the land but assert their own millennia-long connection to Palestine. The tragedy is that many, including some in Israel, do not recognize the rights of the Palestinians to self-determination in their own state. This has been true since 1947 when the United Nations voted to divide the land called Palestine into a Jewish state and an Arab state. While it is often mentioned that Arabs rejected this plan, the complexities of why are seldom discussed. For the Palestinians, this plan was seen as partitioning a land where the majority were Arab, without their true consent. In 1948, as Israel was established, approximately 700,000 Palestinians were displaced from their homes, creating a refugee crisis that persists to this day. Known as the Nakba or "catastrophe", it is a sorrowful event for Palestinians, marking loss and dispossession. Years later, in 1967, Israel expanded its borders, occupying territories including the West Bank, Gaza Strip, and East Jerusalem. These areas are considered by international law as occupied territories. Yet, settlements, considered illegal under international law, have continued to grow, taking more land from Palestinians. When Palestinians resisted occupation, their uprisings were met with force. When they sought diplomacy, the path to statehood remained elusive. And when they tried to tell their story to the world, they often faced deaf ears. For decades, Palestinians have seen their land shrink, their rights curtailed, and their call for justice muted. They have repeatedly asked for the end of the occupation, the right of return for refugees, and a capital in East Jerusalem. Consider the reality of life in Gaza. The blockade has resulted in a humanitarian crisis, with limited access to basic necessities, medical supplies, and opportunities. Yet the spirit of the Palestinians remains unbroken, their culture vibrant, and their aspirations clear. Think about these questions: If Palestinians were given their full rights and statehood tomorrow, would they still have grievances? And if Israel recognized the Palestinian right to a state and ended the occupation, what would happen? In the first case, a long-standing injustice would be addressed. In the second, a significant step towards peace would be made. Remember this: The land known as Palestine has been home to diverse civilizations and peoples for thousands of years, including the Canaanites from whom many Palestinians trace their lineage. Palestinians have a deep-rooted history in this land, and their aspiration for a state is a quest for justice and recognition. That's the issue: Why can't the Palestinian people, with their rich history and contributions to civilization, have their own state and live with dignity and peace?

    koyunbaba73 low point? a mere 75 years ago the west was engaged in the greatest man-made cataclysm of all time that killed 70 million people. That was quite embarrassing. Today, people in the west, on average, enjoy the greatest standard of living in the history of human-kind. Since WW2 we defeated Marxist -Leninism and helped to create conditions that elevated Western Europe and Japan, South Korea into modern admirable states.Western societies have also created a great deal of social saftey net and health care advances. It is the Arab world that should be embarrassed. People like ISIS are embarrassed and are trying to re-create the Caliphate that dominated the middle east , Central america and parts of South Asia and South east Asia for hundreds of years.

    The West defeated the evils of the past because it had a notion of good and evil. Now we have students and faculty of the most prestigious university in the world who cannot distinguish between the good of a life-affirming society versus the evil of a death cult. That is beyond embarrassing.

    koyunbaba73 One of the great things about the west is our ability to self-criticize.I think leftist Professors love that liberty. They realize that Hamas and the like would create horrific societies, they just want to blame us for it.We are repsponsible for ISIL, Hamas,Al Qaeda, Taliban, Boko Haram etc. We , and history, may have played role, but to equate the West with these guys is foolish.

  • @koyunbaba73

    @koyunbaba73

    What today's university does goes far beyond the bounds of constructive self-criticism. And if Oxford university and its faculty and students are not symbolic of the West, then I don't know what is. I actually do not understand you. Oxford university and virtually all Leftist universities (which is redundant) have chosen to take the side of the group which fires rockets into Israel while being situated in hospitals, because they know innocent Arabs will be killed in the counter-strike, and that makes for good media. Oxford chooses to support evil and you are making excuses for them! Meanwhile, it isn't Jews who are murdering British civilians. These are Islamic terrorists who share the same ideological origins as Hamas. And this is who Oxford supports. And this is what you call self-criticism. Your argument is ridiculous. And if you actually believe what you're saying (which I doubt), then you've taken the same position as Oxford. It doesn't seem to me that you are on the same side as Hamas. So how do you excuse those Western elites who do support Hamas?

    Prager's ability to remain composed when faced with an antagonistic activist (let's spare the details on her manner, shall we) serves as a masterclass in the art of debate. Listening to this exchange even once could provide valuable insights into the art of constructing a persuasive argument. On the other hand, hearing it multiple times might turn you into a Middle East expert. The exchange is a brilliant dismantling of opposing views and a stark revelation of the moral ambiguity associated with those who embrace radicalism.

    ‏Hello. I am a proud Jewish Israeli living in Israel. I've witnessed all my life how they are destroying my country, its values, and even worse, the truth. Israel wants peace, but its enemies hate it so much that they are willing to continue refusing peace throughout their lives. They raise their children to hate Jews and commit murder. They glorify the names of suicide bombers who explode and kill themselves just to take another Jewish life - what a twisted pride! ‏I wish that no one ever experiences what Israel has endured for generations - baseless hatred. Hatred without reason, do they hate us because we defend ourselves in Gaza? Let's see if you would remain silent when rockets are fired at civilians, and suicide bombers blow themselves up in crowded places, and you don't retaliate with war. Let's see how you cope with hearing about someone you know being killed by terrorists every few months. ‏The world needs to understand that this is a terrorist organization rooted in hatred. Hamas is ISIS. And no one will convince me otherwise. ‏I am proud of my homeland, my people, and the values of preserving our heritage and love for the land. May every nation have the unity that the people of Israel share. ‏There's a saying that some are ready for war, some are truly prepared for it, but I don't know of anyone who desires it. We are skilled in it, good at it, we've won in the past, and we will prevail today. ‏We don't seek support from any country! We have ourselves, and with that, we will triumph. ‏The truth is that Israel gave up territory in exchange for peace (including Gaza). Israel has provided Gaza with free electricity and water to this day, and the moment we stopped giving it to them for free, the whole world accused us of "Israel taking electricity and water from Gaza." How dare they? A. Because they took our lives. B. Because no rational person would provide weapons and assistance to their enemy, who seeks to kill them. ‏Go to your villa, sip your Starbucks coffee, and be quiet!

    Based on the comments praising Mr.Prager, I thought I would hear some compelling arguments. Sadly the only point I heard was Mr.Prager try to explain that this argument is foolish, and he didn’t even defend that point. To point 1: Israel is the greater threat in all of those causes. The scenario doesn’t change because Israel represents some of the earliest western involvement in the Middle East during the 20th century. All of these militia groups arise due to the actions/existence of Israel, and the Arabic governments who support Israel. I don’t want to be unfair here, but these groups cannot really exist independent of Israel. They are opposite and opposing forces. Israel is the greater threat to peace in all of these scenarios because it brought with it the opposing forces that we are talking about. People seem to downplay how much of a shockwave the founding of Isreal has had in the Middle East. It has been a massive butterfly effect that we still feel today unfortunately. To point 2: I have to agree with Mr.Prager’s note about wars being either between a free state and a police state, or between two police states. Except here we do not have a free state against a police state. If we are being generous, we can call the Israel-Hamas war a war between two police states. If we are being honest though, this is a war between Hamas, a militant group fighting for a sovereign state, and Israel, a police state opposing that state’s sovereignty. There is no way Israel is a “free” state, not with the backyard they have. Mr.Prager says there were no settlements in 1967, why wasn’t there peace? Firstly, the settlements started right after the 1967 war. And maybe that war happened because in 1948 Israel muscled its way into the Middle East against the opinion of the majority. Are people just supposed to swallow that injustice? Jews were only 1/3 the population and owned just ~10% of the land. Yet they were offered 53% of the land by the UN. It was a blatant robbery on a world stage. There was also no Hamas at that time, so why wasn’t there peace? Who has been the consistent opposition to a Palestinian state after all of these years? It’s very true that justice is the prerequisite to peace. at 8:00 -This whole mention of beheadings and low Arab morals is flooded with a western lens. People around the world have different values that they keep. In the west people value their freedom the most. In the East, people may value their dignity more, or their respect more, or maybe they don’t value the outside world as much as you. Or maybe they think it’s appropriate to behead someone for a crime. These beheadings are also done by fundamentalists groups and somehow that is supposed to be representative of the Arab world. This is the usual Zionist tactic of animalizing Arabs so you can treat them like such. Are we supposed to support a colonist state because they are subjectively a more “moral” society? 10:15 he mentions genocide in Ukraine and I believe he is referring to the Holodomor of the 1930s. The Soviets feared Ukrainian revolution and implemented unrealistic farming quotas. The Soviets began mass imprisonments and blockading of Ukrainians which lead to their demise via starvation. It’s certainly genocide but Interesting that Mr.Prager believes so too. 10:40 these actions by Hamas are not in a vacuum. Israel has its foot on the neck of those in Gaza and you really do expect them to do nothing about it. What should a Jew do in that situation? Should he/she support a resistance? Or should they just let themselves be subjected to the boot? 11:30 this comparison between Gaza and Germany is so sensationalized. He is comparing Britain’s actions from 70 years ago to those of Israel in modern times. And a reminder that Gaza does not have an army, no Air Force, no navy. These human beings with families are sitting targets to air strikes by their own neighbor who controls their air rights. That is why we care about the numbers Mr.Prager. The numbers don’t determine who’s right and who’s wrong, but history has determined Israel’s crimes and they also happen to have more blood on their hands too. This whole thing was a deflection attempt by Mr.Prager but I hope we can eventually find peace. Peace to all.

    Arabs & Muslims live, vote & have governmental positions in Israel. WHERE ARE JEWS GIVEN THESE RIGHTS IN ANY ARAB COUNTRY? That is the TRUE Apartheid! In Muslim countries, Jews are regarded as “Dhimmi” and were subjected to a number of restrictions, the application and severity of which varied with time and place. Restrictions included residency in segregated quarters, obligation to wear distinctive clothing, public subservience to Muslims, prohibitions against proselytizing and against marrying Muslim women, and limited access to the legal system (the testimony of a Jew did not count if contradicted by that of a Muslim). Dhimmis had to pay a special poll tax (the "jizya").
