I'm reading the book now and it's truly riveting. You feel like you've known the various Irish-American characters from the 'Commonwealth' housing all of your life, or at least, some semblance of them. It's the realistic dialogue that really draws you into the story. Pure, classic Lehane. If you have been a fan of his books since the beginning, like myself, this one will not disappoint!

I don't totally agree with what Dennis Lehane said about bussing in this video above. Plus, I see a problem when he said about any group of people being authentically racist. Because bussing did work well in some schools, etc. in some parts of the USA. Plus desegregation and bussing did help more black students in some parts of the USA in the long run. And it did reduce some racial bias against some black students also. Plus desegregation and bussing were necessary for some schools, etc. in some parts of the USA because of some racism in some parts of the USA also. And God in heaven is against any type of racism against any race of people on this planet also. And racism is a sin to God in Heaven and to some of us on this planet also. Plus, all those negative comments that these racists were saying about black people, etc. wasn't all true also. There were some positive things about black people, etc. that were true also. And I don't totally believe Dennis Lehane when he says that he is for 100% desegregation in all the schools, etc. also. Plus, some of these people that are racists blew things way out of proportion when it comes to desegregation and bussing because some of them didn't like desegregation and bussing also.
