I was there that night - right behind the Goal were I think Ricky Hill ? missed a siter that cost us Big Time - mind you had we gone on to La France 84 I could well believe us getting kicked out the Tournament such was England's following and the locals always up for a good barney . What happened to GSTQ I ask you - know bleedin wonder lol .

Bobby made a big mistake in dropping Keegan - I mean if mariner was considered good enough which he was not he was never International class but made the most of his limited ability - During this campaign Francis Woodcock and Regis were the best forwards we had - Regis never really got a look in . - Luther Blissit your havin a laugh he scored the worst hat trick I've Ever seen vs Luxembourg - Happy Dayzz though - if we had got through I believe England would possibly have been kicked out the tournament such was England's following and Everybody gunning for us lol .

Do you grasp that Mariner was there for his movement along the line, his ability to pull defenders out of position and allow the key striker to break through?, Greenwood used Mariner woefully vis a vis Francis, a point Jack Charlton made to Greenwood himself during the WC in Spain 1982...I disagreed with Greenwood's use of him along with the way he alienated Ray Kennedy..

Just another point a Woodcock/Regis/Francis attacking trio under Brian Clough might have been the way England would have gone if Brian got the job in late 1977..

Denmark were emerging class opponents, England defended poorly but i tell you Denmark were the only team to beat Italy in the qualification leading to the 1982 WC, that means their were the only team to defeat Italy in that 1981-82 period combining both the qualifiers and final matches in Spain...some achievement..
