I have been watching Strictly for many years now, but this was the most spectacular showdance ever!!!

Out of all the SCD Showdances, I still think this is my fave. James Jordan is an excellent dancer & it just clicked between him & Denise. I loved Denise, she is an Allrounder and no matter what previous experiences a contender has, ballroom & latin is a whole other world and each of them is a novice once more.

My feelings exactly - she is the celeb I would most like to meet. Now she is going to be on Dancing on Ice, the first celeb to do both shows. And she has never been employed as a dancer!

Watched this again after this year’s show dances. I still think this is the best show dance in the history of Strictly Come Dancing.

Yes was incredible but also loved Caroline and Pasha

An astonishing routine. Breathtaking. Such a shame that Denise and James didn't win, but a fabulous series from start to finish. Looking forward to next year to see the BBC are going to top it. :)

Absolutely amazing so beautiful fluent and the lift just after the steps you couldn't tell it was going to happen and the 4th lift is magical she deserved to win absolutely amazing never seen anything better

THAT WAS FUCKING AMAZING. I'm actually in tears.

I never understood the hate she got for her prior dancing experience. In my opinion, she is one of the most overlooked contestants. Her routines were brilliant. This one, in particular, in the BEST SHOWDANCE across all seasons. It was fun, it was athletic, had insane lifts and was superbly choreographed.

I think James Jordan and Brendan Cole are the best pro's on strictly and I love Brendans expression when he sharply turns his head when he dances the tango. Also love Ian Waites expression when he did the tango with Zoe ball.

This was Amazing-well done Denise-was a close final!

Denise seems lovely to me. Likeable and talented. Going to stage school until you're 13 hardly gives you an advantage over pop stars and gymnasts. I do wish she had won. I think James deserved it too!

I really couldn't care less about her previous experience. She worked just as hard as other contestants to deliver outstanding performances and without her we wouldn't have been able to see such incredible dancing.

Aaron Wilkins Your comment sounds more stupid, to be honest. If she'd been doing the same level difficulty routines as other dancers that year, then it would make sense - but she was being pushed to achieve way better things. So why would her level of effort not match the others....?

Absolutely mind-blown by this performance :O

The best competitors in both tv dance and singing comps. always finish second. James' understanding of leverage and balance is incredible. Denise was technically breathtaking. The top two in 2012 put to shame the 2013 finalists.

the lift at 0:50 deserved so much more credit it's like the dirty dancing lift but spinning!!!!!

I would not call it a travesty ,but she should have won she is by far the best dancer totally different league but this is strictly and the public never took to here why? can`t tell you people are jealous thats why .she is wonderful looking georgeous girl very succesfull in her life outspoken. I love her for this just love denise the best BBC Breakfast presenter ever and a fabbie dancer Denise all the way .the winner dance like a robot never appealed to me love you denise

Catriona you won't convince me. Denise had experience going in- as many do- but the point is I didn't see any improvement from start of series to end. Alesha,Lisa and Caroline meanwhile got better and better. To be fair I neglected the men which was wrong of me. Harry Judd,, Ore and Joe M from last year also showed significant improvement right the way through. Danny like Denise had masses of experience but still got better through the process. 'Athletically the best ever?' Not a chance. She was just lifted, tilted and spun in virtually every dance. Meanwhile, Debbie's legs and footwork- amongst the best ever, Alesha and Caroline had the best core and hips ever which translated into earthiness and variety, and Lisa was probably the first contestant to ever have a truly sensational top line in ballroom which some have matched since but never bettered. Anyway, if you like- LOVE- Denise and rate her so highly fair enough but I could never be persuaded to agree. Sorry.

a real shame Denise didnt win i totally felt she was the best this season!!!! just love her.... i even fell in love with James this season *blush*

Although they are not connected romantically, I think James and Denise are the best matched couple ever in Strictly. Not just in their dancing but in their comedy and their personalities they fit together like Morecambe and Wise. I remember what Denise said, about having trouble with "de knees"! If I could meet just one celebrity it would be Denise.

OMG, I gotta say, I am a fan of Kimba but this dance was on a different level. ALso in my opinion whilst Kimba is more of the show-factor, Denise is just classy, and boy that lift at the end , wasn't that dangerous to do!!! Hats off to Denise, clean, professional, and sexy.

I was at that final. Best dance of the night, but James never had the judges on his side and they can sway the public vote.

Although I voted for Kimberley, seeing this makes me think Denise probably deserved to win.

Either Denise or Kimberly should have won this year. They were both better dancers than Louis, he only got the title because he was top-less; sex sells. I'm glad that Denise did get the highest score in the final (119/120) just proving that she was the best.

James Underdown Yeah Louis winning was the only one I'll never forgive. He was the worst dancer in the final by some margin.

I didn't watch any of strictly but having watched all the dances in the final, Denise's is by far the best. I suppose it comes down to who the public likes the best, which is why I never watch these programmes.... It should be about who IS the best but then I suppose the BBC wouldn't make all it's money from people voting! At the end of the day these programmes are cash cows....

@ronariverah I agree but I hate to see unfairness, particularly when genuine talent does not win because of outside influences and I feel she was a victim of negative press which influenced the public to deliberately vote against her because of her showbiz acting and performing background that's all

She is the greatest girl on the planet.Funny,worth a squirt,a tom boy a loads more.Never seen this show but pretty good at this too.I had a twinge downstairs searched it and found myself here.Sad but true.

Woah. It's an entertainment programme, who won is pretty much immaterial. I would say, cliched as it sounds, all four of the finalists were winners simply by making it to the final week, especially as all of them have put in so much effort and determination to learn the routines.

Clean lifts which is what you need for a showcase. Recently, that has been missing from Strictly showdances . It just seems to be a smattering of previous dances. Hope it is different this year.

I never really liked Denise. But this was incredible!

what a dance!!!! still feel that they were robbed and should have won the title. she was absolutely fabulous brilliant in all the dances. she was so good because both her and james worked really hard. Kimberley was ok, not really a fan, and although Louis was very good he had no personality when dancing. ABSOLUTE DISGRACE THAT THEY DIDN'T WIN.

Denise was good but I think that Kimberley Walsh and Pasha Kovalev were my favourite Showdance ever!

wow.....one of the best dances I've seen on strictly. oddly the other was by the winner. could not pick out of DVO and Louis both exceptional dances. they both wanted to win, and so proved it in style.

@halogen123 I agree totally its just an entertainment show, but this years standard was so high probably the best ever, that it just really spoilt it for me, the fact that clearly the best dancer didn't win that's all. I did feel that the final four in any other year would probably have won it outright anyway, I guess the public just found something about DVO that they just didn't like, she was after all in the dance-off for two weeks as well:-(((

Honostly, most of the freestyles from American winners weren't this good. If everything wasn't perfect, she could've easily went flying into the audience during the lifts or cracked her/James's necks. They really shoulda won.

Absolute travesty she didn't win, Kimbles had the elegance, Louis had the athleticism, but DVO had technique, interpretation, and elegance, absolute DISGRACE she didn't win

SHE WAS ORE IN THE AIR OR ON HIS SHOULDERS THAN ON THE FLOOR! No comparison to Louis and Flavia masterpiece showdance

It's about who's the public's favourite, if it was down to who is best the judges would decide, and louis was obviously the favourite by a fair bit, granted the olympics finished a couple of months before

This was the best dance on strictly ever, Denise was brilliant, should have won! but it was a hard decision, and Lewis was a deserved winner!

The finalists of 2013 Strictly could never touch 2012's Showdances. All four are incredible. Whereas in 2013 nobody really excels; Abbey is probably the best because it flows perfectly but still lacking bits of more edge; Sophie and Suzanna's Showdances were pretty much equal, whereas in Sophie's the movements were more challenging but Suzanna's was better formed afterall. And then Natalie, the worst of the four yet the only one to score 40. Go figure. The 2012 is really on their own league.

Agreed that 2012's showdances overall were better, but I'm shocked you felt that way about Natalie! I thought her showdance was outstanding. Broadway magic!

I did not vote dani or Kimberly or Denise cos they all went to stage school ( where they danced) and Denise an Kimberly both r in the west end ( where they dance) so I voted Lewis ( who did not go to stage school and did not dance in the west end)
