Two years ago I had a CT angiogram that showed only a trace of carotid stenosis. This week it showed a 70% occlusion. How can this be?

I had an carotid endarterectomy. In all my testing including ultrasound and CT blockage needed be over 80% to be treated. From this surgery I ended up with a completely blocked artery that is now unrepairable. If you are a woman and have small arteries I would be very careful with this decision.
