Demystified- Brazilian Rain Tree as Bonsai in colder climates (zone 5a)

After 1 year with the BRT, here is what I learned about the process. In this video I share my reflections and experiences of growing, trimming, and communicating with Brazilian Rain Tree as well as an interview with bonsai grower with 30 years experience, Nigel Saunders. Thank you for watching, please like, comment and subscribe if you like my video, it helps a lot!

Hi Izabella, really enjoyed this video. I think all budding bonsai enthusiasts should watch and listen to your and Nigel's advice here - it goes a lot wider than just BRTs.

Lovely video!! I have wanted one of these trees since the first time i seen them , there is one for sale by me ( alittle more than i want to spend lol ) but i think i may bite the bullet. how hardy do you find this tree to take care of ? equal to a serissa? ( my serissa can be finicky at times lol )

Same with me Mattie, I wanted it since I saw it but didn't get it due to the price. Then months later someone offered to bring a nice one to my house. It is the most expensive of all my trees but I really like it. I only had it for a bit over a year and I was able to take care of it, with Serissa, it didn't live for more then 6 months, sadly. BRT seems to be quite easy to take care off but I know sometimes it takes a while for the tree to show distress so it's too early to tell how it will do in my temeprature settings. I can't provide it with a winter temps lower then my regular house and I know some trees really need it. After one winter and one summer, the tree is doing well so far but I'll have to see how it goes long term. From what I've learned from others, it should be good. Does that help?
