Review The Addams Family (1991) and Addams Family Values.

I actually met Billy Zane at a convention a couple months ago. I don’t think a lot of people know him from this movie, hell even his banner at the con was of him from Titanic, and only one of the autographed photos you could buy on his table was from Demon Knight. When I told him how much I loved him in Demon Knight, it was just a complete change in character. His face beamed and he continued to go on and on about how much fun he had in this movie (which definitely shows through his performance). Very stand up guy and needs more recognition for this movie

Demon Knight could have been a short series all on its own (either as a comic book, a film, a tv show or video game) and considering the Key shows up in Bordello of Blood (not much connection in terms of plot) a midway point film could have worked that out

Grenades actually only contain about a 1/4 stick of dynamite explosive power, so the explosion in Demon Knight of 6 grenades is far more accurate than many movies with even a single explosion. And 6 grenades would certainly not take out the entire hotel.

Billy Zane's performance took this from a solid movie to a great one. The rest of the cast did great for their roles, but Zane is the one you remember when walking away from the movie.

Out of everything in this movie that was the only thing he hung on to. Man I hate this identity politics vs where the only thing you're allowed to like or things where people look like you. You know growing up I loved Star Wars. I didn't need Luke to be black for me to enjoy it. I loved running home and watching gem after school. I don't remember any of them being black males and it never stopped me from enjoying the show

@@gingermcgingin1733 Not to nitpick, just feel the need, Daemon means spirit, soul, or quite literally "godlike power"[such as a nymph, a satyr, or a siren] taken from the Greek word of the same name. Very similar to concepts such as fae, asura and deva, or just the whole of Shinto. "Demon" became the word for "evil spirit" when Christianity rose to power...more so during its some 600 years of growth and conquest.

@@wiilov 'Dæmon'/'daemon'/'demon' originally meant 'lesser god' with no implication of alignment, but since Christianity is a monotheistic religion, once it gained traction it changed the definition/concept to what we use today. Also, not all evil spirits are necessarily demonic, some are Fey.

In those movies, dead people play a game against Death for the opportunity to come back to life. Billy Zane is criminally underrated. Why he's never played Lex Luthor is an offense to humanity. It can still happen, people. Make it happen.

That opening from TftC is pure, unadulterated nostalgia

I saw this back when there was a Blockbuster video. I rented it on dvd, went home, and fell so deep in love with it that I actually have a copy of the script with Billy Zane's signature on it. I adore this movie so much. It's just terrible in every way to make it amazing. Billy Zane though is 90% of the draw.

Yeah the last season got fairly stupid (which is partly why it was the last season) but for a while, it was the coolest freakin show. Celeb actors every episode, lots of celeb directors, great writing, and it was on HBO while that still meant something. Still love it!

Thank you for reviewing this! This was the first horror movie I saw, and Demon Knight has had a special place in my heart since my dad showed it to me when I was a kid. I'm happy to see that the Nostalgia Critic loves it as much as I do!

I just showed this movie to my wife a few days ago. I even told her it was Billy Zane’s best performance. Great review!

Well it’s better than it’s “sequel” that’s for sure lol. I like when actors have fun with their roles.

There were only three “Back to the Future” henchmen.

True, but anywhere other than a BttF movie, Biff would be nothing more than a henchman, so you can forgive NC for getting his count confused.

18:10 I really respect that you not only care about charities, but that you introduce us to such interesting organizations that I would probably never have heard of otherwise. I also appreciate that you let us know the charity navigator rating, since there are unfortunately so many organizations that misrepresent what they do and how funds are distributed. I wish more people were not only as charitable as you, but as conscientious about it.

Thank you critic! I had vague memories of watching a movie decades ago, about "a demon guy fought by using the blood of Jesus". Now I finally know the title and that it was just as cool as I remembered, thanks again!

Oh man, I've been looking for this movie for years! I vaguely remember watching it as a kid but I couldn't remember the title or who was in it. I do remember the key artifact being used the seal doors, and the Crypt Keeper.

Holy shit, finally i know what those memories were I remember watching this movie as a kid and it being the most terrifying thing I had ever experienced at that point in my life. I barely remembered what it was though, the few memories I had were very scattered and I thought it might have to do with tales from the crypt but I was never sure. 14:30 And as I watch farther i’m reminded that the part that haunted me was Danny turning into a demon. And I actually remember the “I lluh.. you” scene fairly clearly, weird, had no clue it was related to the thing that game me nightmares as a kid.

Literally the exact same here. For me was the scene where they ripped the eyeballs out and threw them on the floor. Saw Zane on the staircase and it clicked.

I have that theme as my ringtone,but nobody get's it.

My friend and I finally got the opportunity to rent this movie. I think I've watched it about five times in three days, and even had to rent it again so I could watch it again. I absolutely adored this. I even showed all my little cousins in a couple of my friends and they all adored it. My little cousins also showed their parents, and they also loved it. So overall, my friend and I just got about 20 people really into this movie. It fully deserves all of the cold status that it has. And Billy Zane is amazing. Thanks for reviewing it nostalgia critic! If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have known about this

I love this movie. It’s just a joyride from beginning to end, and Billy Zane is clearly having a ball as The Collector. 😁

Throughout the whole movie I was expecting to hear "SUBMIT!"

After many years doug you finally did it. I vaguely remembered this movie from days long past when this randomly aired on TV. You truly did remember it so I didnt have to. Now... if you could also remember a movie/short film collections about a dudes hand coming alive and infecting all the hands in the hospital leading to an epic climax where he jumps off the roof and all the hands follow him, that would be great. I thought it was ripley scott or tales from the crypt since it uses the same kind of pre-show explaining the origins of a hand in a jar, but no luck sofar.

It wasn’t until I watched the review, that I remembered that I had even watched this. I was like 7 or eight when I watched it.

Same! The moment they showed that amulet thingy with the red liquid inside, I had to pause the video for a moment as the memories flooded back into my mind!!

I always covered my eyes right before the Cryptkeeper popped out of his coffin every intro🙈

They featured charity is the most interesting one I've ever heard of by far!

I was in the military when this movie came out and I do have to say it's one of my guilty pleasures.

I always prayed he would do this but I never thought he would really do it!!!

OH MY GOD YEEEESSSS. I you don't know how long I've waited to see you do an episode, nay a move from Tails of the Crypt. I'm also proud to say that I grew up with the dear old Crypt keeper, that intro to that amazing show always had me giddy to the point of bursting (NC sleep walkers referance) while I sat in my little reclining chair. To all who can relate I give you the crypt keeper salute

This is exactly what a fun horror movie should be

I've often said that you could cut everything between the intro and outro from the show and it still would have been a hit.

Hell Yeah! NostalgiaWeen is back and the first episode is Demon Knight! This really is turning out to be a kick-ass October. I hope I can get a chance to see you at another con, Doug! Happy NostalgiaWeen!

This is the only movie I’ve seen with Billy Zane and he absolutely kicks ass in this. He made DemonKnight as fun as it was for me. Can’t recommend this masterpiece enough

Okay, this actually to me one of the several good NC Review. I wonder how John Kassir would react, if he saw this review. Also, next Nostalgiaween, can we have a reanactment of the intro from Tales from the Crypt?

The intros for Monsters and Friday the 13th the series were also my jams. However, Tales from the Darkside’s gets filed under childhood trauma.

Man I haven't watched nostalgia critic in a year to save up on episodes to binge watch but when I seen this review I knew I had to watch it

I used to come running from another room as a child to watch the intro, but then hid behind the couch when Crypt Keeper popped out of the box. I'm glad I'm not the only sesame-street aged child who loved this show.
