Can this be used with a reclining chair?
I thought these were self locking, why the need to turn the knobs to tighten?

There are models where there are not any knobs. However, in this example, the tightening of the knobs adds extra tension for a tighter hold. We recommend using the knobs to tighten the straps fully, but it is not necessary if the user is unable. The straps are self-tightening on their own.
